Limited Climbing Ability(as average people can do)

Although personally I do not like the idea of zombies as fast as humans or faster, as I don't like that they are still alive and infected rather than simply resurrected dead, I realize that fast zombies are the best choice for a sufficiently dynamic gameplay . But if they’re stronger and driven to extreme by the virus I think they should be also less capable to perform actions that require precision, balance, coordination or planning as is required in climbing. Otherwise it would be convenient become infected. You become stronger, smarter, more capable in all, and this does not seem to have anything to do with the idea of zombies itself. They are not animals, nor monkeys with innate climbing skill, their brain has gone and they only follow their instinct without any intelligence. I think the value of this game is in trying to keep coherence and credibility despite its fancy.

Limited Climbing Ability(as average people can do)

Thanks for the support. It 's my first post here, and I really hope that devs take a look. I’ve been dreaming a game like this since I was 8 and saw my first zombie movie. I remember that most of the fear came from the scenes you did not know if the characters would be able to find a safe place while the zombies chasing them. This is the reason why I believe that the ability to climb without knowing a priori if and where we will find a "rest spot" could be an important factor to make the game more frightening and fascinating. Accordingly zombies shouldn’t have this ability, or it should be very poor compared to humans. What do you mean with “a proper map”? I roamed just a bit in an alpha of SA I found via torrent. Although it's an early version of the game, I noticed that the most of the buildings could be easily arranged for this aim simply adding them more structures like pipes, railings etc. Unfortunately I also noticed that the character can climb without any particular effort along the cables of a lift till top of a building of many floors(absolutely unrealistic). And even worse, I noticed that the zombies can do the same. I hope devs will rectify this!
  3. I'd like the character to have a Limited Climbing Ability(as average people can do) in Standalone. People generally are not skilled climbers, but there are many structures on which an ordinary person would try to climb in a situation of danger. If suddenly attacked by a horde of zombies, it would be very useful being able to choose to climb wherever possible (pipes, gates, fences, railings, gratings, grids, especially trees with branches easy to reach) trying to get to places that zombies are not capable of reach. It could be argued that efforts to climb, as well as still hanging at something, quickly reduce the stamina until we fall down with the risk of serious injury, broken limbs or death depending from the height. (Something similar to what happens in games such as "I am Alive", but in a more realistic and believable way) The places the character could reach with this kind of climbing only in rare cases could permit a temporary, but not prolonged rest(on narrow ledges, sills, or branches of certain trees) , just leaving hands free to shoot to the zombies that awaits down there. On these "rest spots" the stamina would continue to lower but less rapidly in order to discourage PvP snipers staying there indefinitely. I think this definitely require a lot of work in animation, but it would make the gameplay much more free and less repetitive. Do you think it desirable / possible to implement this feature in SA?
