No 3rd Person View after updating to 1.7?
Elberto replied to Elberto's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I found my error. In a helpful video it explains that to correctly install updates using Six Updater you must run the game *using* Six Updater once, which I did. I can now see my character. Thank you for your help, LVG! Update: so, I can see my character in the Six Updater version, but I can't see in my Steam version. -
No 3rd Person View after updating to 1.7?

>You need to get the arma 2 beta patch. I've already gotten it and have had it for a little while now. Thanks for your input, though. I will do some more searching. -
Hey all, so I can log into servers finally and got the game running smoothly after updating to 1.7, but now I'm unable to see my character in 3rd person mode. I also believe all the zeds are invisible also, so something is definitely up with all the character animations. It's just the avatar that is invisible. The UI looks fine, the environment is a-ok, sound is working properly-- just no avatars appear. Thanks in advance for any pointers or help. I've tried updating using Six Updater and the Worrom.com one, if that helps.

Bad version, server rejected connection

Same problem with me. I tried updating using the Worrom update, Six Updater, and Manually. Wish there was a tutorial for *any* of these that works with Steam, though. -

"Theotherjester" that's pretty odd, and I can't think of any reason this might happen. I noticed while walking in a building that the glitched zeds have their feet sinking through the floor into the bottom level xD Hey guys, just wanted to say that I've found a fix, so hopefully this will help jest, sandman, and anybody else who may run across this post in the future. Here's what worked for me: 1. Download DayZ updater from http://worrom.com/ 2. After opening the updater, *make sure to change the Download URL option to cdn.armafiles.info. This is serious business. 3. Allow the client to detect the .rar files and subsequently download them. These files include *dayz_anim_v0.1.rar* which I can only assume is responsible for some zombie animation or something. Various other files that clearly need to be downloaded are also included. This will take probably around a good 5 - 10 minutes, so be patient. 4. After it says "success!" retry the game. For me, the zombies were bouncing around town just as they should be. Hope this helps
