The OP is either an idiot and new to DayZ or a really good actor pretending like he 'found' some campsite with really good gear in it. Either way, it sucks that these type of people exist in DayZ, because the game as a lot of potential to become great. It takes a low life to cheat in a game. Someone who hasn't achieved anything great in real life and who's only form of satisfaction is screwing the game up for the rest of us. Why not just play DayZ? Thanks a lot, wanker.

Why does everyone use the "in a real zombie apocalypse" argument? In real life not everyone is spawned on a beach, wearing the same 3 sets of clothes looking exactly alike with no real self-defining characteristics. Arguing about realism sort of sounds silly guys.

The Thermal Scope on that gun clearly brings nothing to enhancing the experience of playing DayZ. Please remove it. -
DCing from snipers, snipers complaining.

The problem is that most snipers who are out to pk server hop hot spots until others expose themselves. Then they take shots and battle log,ie dc to get rid of zombies. Both using dc to avoid death and abusing world persistence to gain the upper hand are both really bad things to experience,but they are certainly a prevalent part of the game now. So what do you do? My suggestion is make sniping require some form of skill. Make wind and altitude a factor at far ranges. Only having bullet drop on 400+m shots is a joke. In real life people actually go through months of training but in dayz you can pick up a dmr and start driving nails at ridiculous ranges without even knowing the armory exists. It's laughable. -

As far as I know, it just says "player x was killed". Not the murderer's name or anything, it doesn't even display if someone disconnects anymore [unless there are servers that do, which I haven't seen in a long time. The admin probably has to finagle it to work]. You're buddy can get shot by someone and you see it. If the murderer gets away, the only way you can identify them is if they are carrying the same gun... even then you can't distinguish two different survivors, it's laughable. Which is why you cannot equate this game to real life in any way. Also, I want to apologize for beating the dead horse in yet another thread. Sorry. -

Guys, let's please stop with the awkward suggestions about how to identify friend from foe because the obvious and easy way to do this [bandit skins] was removed for reasons as simple as "it's not working". Right now we have this ridiculous heartbeat function which only works within about 30m. This solution, at best, is laughable and does nothing more than piss me off, so i'm fed up with any other suggestion than the bandit skin coming back. Without a way to identify bandits, they will always have the upper hand in every situation, which is why you see everyone blasting on sight to obtain preemptive upper hand... I.e. everyone behaves like a bandit. Pure and simple. -

Well, when you start dying from invisible people and artillery shells, you sort of just grab an AKM and a can of beans and just enjoy the game for what it is. Gear is easy and all it takes is 3 makerov bullets and you have all that back, including some NVGs. -
Bandit tends to mean getting the upper hand and exploiting it. Now why would I want to give my prey a marginally fair fight? Also, if they kill me they can grab my sniper rifle, which [in this game], even a 14 year old child can handle with relative ease... they'll just be sniping me next time I turn around. I'd rather not.

EU 40 admin (Dregek) is a cheater!

We put tents in one of those spots once on a very low pop European server and it was raided within 12 hours. Some thought shenanigans, however, I try to restrict judgement until I have proof. So, I can't tell you why everything gets looted... Probably tent seekers going from server to server checking the tentish spots. Why risk your life when you have all you need in the friendly forest? -

I agree a lot with perestain here. Although the OP's post/suggestion was not the best solution, it's clearly a shot in the dark against a deeper matter. I notice it even from my few days playing here. -
I'm new to the mod and I really like it so far. That said, I really hope the lone wolf element does not get removed [i.e. the game is made too hard for such play style], because i'd really not like to be forced to have too many meta-buddies. What I see is that there are several play-styles: lone-wolf, traveler with some friends, hardcore clan players with massive loots, and (of course) farming dupe-whores who have 'bros with trucks', etc. Now, I’m pretty sure that the game feels ‘easy’ with respect to some of these play-styles, and it should. Why not? They have every goddamn gun and piece of equipment in the game, and when they die they just sprint back to the tent and gear up. My argument is that balancing shouldn’t make the game unplayable for certain types of players. If you want to make it harder isolate certain play-styles and make it harder for them because as it stands, certain play-styles are very easy obviously. The game still needs to be playable for the casual gamer, I believe.
