    gtx 760 4gb horrible lag

Really informative answer, thanks a lot. I agree that the CPU isn't that bad but it does make sense that it can be holding the build back. In other games like gta 4 (with enb of course) I'll average at around 40-50 fps maxed out, except for draw distances. While in battlefield 4 beta i can barely play due to constant frame lags and jerks. Maybe the issue also lies in the physical use/condition of the processor, I bought it right when it came out, so 3 years of solid use (I mainly do a lot of work in premiere and ae) may have also had their toll. Anyways, now I now know in the future that the processor is holy.

I guess, but it's a wierd feeling when you dish out 280$ for an upper middle level card to find out that you can't play a game made in 2010 at decent settings.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I realise the cpu is pretty old but I assumed that 6 cores should be enough to run any game... anyways, what cpu do you guys reccomend I buy? I'm willing to spend a maximum of 200 bucks (before taxes and new mobo purchase)
  5. First of all, here are my specs: EVGA GTX 760 4GB, stock settings atm 6 core AMD 1090t thuban 3.2 GHz 8gb ddr3 ram 500 gb samsung hard drive @ 5400rpm 800 volt psu some entry level ASUS motherboard. Now here's my problem: I've tried every concievable guide, tip, trick what have you, to improve performance in dayz and arma 2, but nothing helps at all. In an average game, with ~20 players on the server, settings at 1680x1050, overall very high (aa and anisoptric at high because I'm snobby like that), I I barely manage to get over 40fps in forests and 20-30 fps in towns (cities are at 10-20 fps), with settings at very low, it is playable with 50-60 fps in cities. But that's very strange considering people with less performant gpus can manage much higher fps... Is there something I'm missing? Is the game incompatible with my graphic card? does god hate me? I don't think it's an issue with the card since I can easily max out other games at 60fps like max payne 3 or bf3... And before you ask, yes, I do have the latest nvidia drivers. I'd really appreciate some help or input, thanks
