    Majority of playerbase are kids?

I still haven't come across any "kids" (12-15) on the server that I play, and this is an Epoch server too. Very PvP heavy not to mention.

I need help at shooting and aiming

What he said^ Being killed in DayZ doesn't usually have to do with how good the player that is getting shot at is at aiming, it's how well they are staying hidden and not getting spotted. You should probably hide a little better and draw less attention to yourself. Patience is a big thing in this game, as well as knowing when to give something up e.g You really want the DMR inside those baracks but you know that there are snipers camping them... it's not worth it, etc
  3. Not technically a new Day Z player, played quite a bit of the Vanilla DayZ and Namalsk for the last few months of last year, got my CD key stolen, which of course was followed by a ban. Ijust waited to get back to it when I got a new PC that could handle there being more than 3 players on screen at a time. I see now, getting back into it that there are a crap load of different Day Z Mods. Day Z Origins, Day Zero etc. With these versions out is there much point in playing Vanilla DayZ? Are they better in every aspect or just "different"?
  4. Standard/Military Car Crash. Abandoned Camp/Military Camp/Supply stash. Small-Medium scale dead non-player bodies (civilian/military/medical) (could have been from bandits or offing themselves/eachother)
  5. Wouldn't know where to find me some more Tren. Without this I will lose all my gains. If anyone here lifts, they will know what I mean.

    New player, confused

Yes these days it is quite difficult to do well in DayZ alone, unless you're quite veteran as a player, so if you can find some friends or maybe join a clan once you get the hang of it I think it would make the experience a lot better. When I am playing alone, my character usually survives about 4-5 days tops. When I'm doing things with others on the server, much longer, usually. Unless they're not very good.

    How I became a bandit.

Whenever I'm in doubt on whether I should eliminate my target, I remember these wise words from Lamb of God's Randy Blythe - "I don't hate you, I'm just removing an enemy. Remorse is for the dead."
  8. So you're saying that you will always have the exact gear that you want OR you will only rely on loot spawn to get the gear you want, and that every player you kill will always have nothing you want/need? No. It may not stop KoSing, but it will make it more dynamic, and reduce it in the sense of "Damn he's got a mean helmet and backpack, I better shoot him in the legs" BAM BAM "Damn I missed and he got away". As opposed to just shooting him anywhere regardless of what you want in good condition that he has on him. Do you get what I mean? It's not the solution, but it will make a difference.

    You NEED bandits like me

This is basically how my Kill policy goes: 1. I don't KoS someone that looks like a new spawn, unless they are an immediate threat. 2. I KoS armed players in a zone that I want to go to if I have an objective. 3. If I have no objective (a vehicle, a specific gun, clothes etc) sometimes I KoS for the hell of it/ Whenever I do number 3, unless that person was someone I didn't like or was getting revenge on, I always take their stuff and offer to give it back to them (safely of course), because that way I get the satisfaction of killing someone but I'm not a full blown cunt about it. Say what you will, works for me.

Tell Me Ur Favorite Weapon In Dayz?

    Sa-58V, preferably one with ACOG.
  11. I'm sure there are some legal barriers that apply to this one.

Why Are There No Normal Public Servers?

I switched over to Commander and luckily it works fine now, and I reckon it is better than SIX. A lot more servers show up and there is no delay time for Updates.

Anyone else not like trade zones?

I've been playing Epoch lately and while I enjoy some of the differences, unfortunately it's a lot more PvP than other versions, seeing as you could get yourself militarised within 5-10 minutes of playing depending on where you spawn, and everyone just camps at baracks or in between main towns.
  14. Back in 2012, when I was a straight KoSer, I once probably spent 2+ hours straight (no death, a few close calls though) sniping players in Elektro from various sniper points (some well known to most, some not so well known hehe). Don't entirely regret, because it was fun, and it was great sniper practice, but definitely not the sort of player I want to be now. I actually still have the little notepad where I counted tallied my kills, 27 kills, 7 escaped/logged off.

Note System. Leave Notes For Players.

What if admins had some sort of "Note view" or something and could somehow remove any offensive notes. I haven't thought very deeply about this, just spitballing.

    DayZ 1.8 Feedback

Haven't been back to DayZ for very long, but as others mentioned, insane amount of food/drink spawns. This actually led me to start holding no food or drink in my entire because I knew I would never be too far a crap load of food/drinks. I'm still not sure whether I love or hate the new UI/Inventory Skin. I like the new mechanics though (at least I think they're new?)

You know you play DayZ too much...

When you look at any apartment building and wonder if it is enterable. When you see a forest and DayZ is the first thing that comes to mind. When you dream about DayZ half the time. When you think about how you're going to approach the NW Airfield in between Deadlift sets at the gym. When you're sitting on your PC on a Saturday, look at the clock and it's 9:00 am. Open up DayZ, and the next time you look at your clock it's 7:30pm. (edit: I don't know why this got posted so many times)

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Similar rig to mine, except I have an i5, Windows 7 and your GFX card is slightly better. I can run DayZ maxed out (or as maxed out as DayZ lets you) and I've never gone anywhere under 40FPS.

Why Are There No Normal Public Servers?

No worries. Cheers. Is it safe to assume that most servers with the name US # are bound to be public? Because I remember a lot of the US servers int he high digits were public back in 2012.
  20. Well I paid $30NZD for Arma 2 Combined Ops just for DayZ Mod (and a little better graphics), so I don't mind paying around that (+/- $5) for the actual DayZ Game.
  21. Go to stary, hope that there will be military loot, take military loot. Camp at stary. Not srs. Semi srs.

Why Are There No Normal Public Servers?

Hmm, I use th SIX Launcher because I had problems with DayZ Commander and updates/game file recognition last year and I'm used to SIX anyway (and it was easy to find Pub servers back then). Do you know of any way of this being done on Six? Or are there any indicators that I should be looking for to differentiate Public servers between shitty ones? Aside from the word "public" in the title?
  23. LiftCore is my forum name on Bodybuilding.com, so I thought I would make it the same on other forums. Lift = I lift. Core = I listen to Deathcore (among other things)
