  1. OP needs to get laid. Seriously. Now. Fast.
  2. Judging by the way the OP fails to do a little bit of reading on these very forums before posting nonsense about magic admin rights, he shouldn't be mouthing off at all. Admins can't do anything described. Hackers can. Get over it.
  3. You are aware that you can glitch-crawl under the chopper to get to the loot? ;)
  4. I agree, but not necessarly because it's too common to find but to easy to duplicate. In addition, scopes like that require power, so they don't fit the setting. Replace it with a L85 Susat and make it NV compatible and you have a super accurate, reliable weapon that can be used downrange at night and has ironsights for close quarters thus the best allrounder you could ever ask for.
  5. I tend to disagree. If you are close enough to others to be in need of using a second primary weapon you need something with stoppingpower. Go for the M14 AIM. If you carry four canteens and have the tools for hunting game you shouldn't go into towns anyways, M107 ammo is plentyful on crashsites and deerstands. The L85 is outstanding at spotting for the scope, but when playing on servers that are not easymode, you will find yourself at a disadvantage in close quarters.
  6. Yep, I wish I was there. On a sidenote, zelenogorsk seems to be the place to be for groups on lootruns lately. My group got into a similar fight there (4 of us v 5 enemy in total for around 30 minutes) just the other day. My hat is off to both sides for playing it fair.
  7. I was expecting to be trolled and flamed, after all I ruined these people's dayz and gave away the name of the server. It's the internet and all :D But thank you :)
  8. It can't shoot through concrete walls, but you can hit through deerstands and the side of vehicles occasionally. Also, if you see someone glitch parts of his body through a wall you can take him out too in one shot.
  9. Close - mid Range and patroling: M14 AIM hands down. Common ammo, good rate of fire (faster than FAL but no burst or auto), low recoil once you are used to it, same stoppingpower as FAL and much better than the M4 plastic toys, better view down the sight (especially with a Ghillie) and looks. Damn that thing is sexy all around. There's a reaons why I carried one on almost every life I played in DayZ. Downrange it's the AS50 on the big boys. All the advantages of the M107 but without the major disadvantage: noise to players. M1911 makes zombie encounters a non-event.
  10. This goes for any town really, not only Cherno. Most people are stupid enough to pick spots where you can cover a lot of ground visually. While that may even seem obvious initially, it's probably the worst thing you can do because: a.) More ground to cover means more spots to be counter-sniped from. b.) Less cover in general and vulnerability to random people passing by in high-traveled areas. c.) The more targets you engage, the more you shoot. Pretty obvious ey? Then don't stay in one spot all the time after firing that .50cal for the 20th time, numbnuts! A good spot overlooks one narrow killzone you set up, preferably with one single high-yield loot spot in the center and good overwatch (+/- 50m) to ingress&egress routes. Of course, that means you need more patience but you will stay alive. As with anything really, in order to be good you have to think out of the box.
  11. I am just unhappy I can't FRAPS in Arma because of my old hunk-o-junk computer, but I will take one of my buddies with me sometime to tape stuff like that. I snipe a lot at the NWAF and Stary and very rarely come to the coast unless it's for picking someone up and I can honestly say: I have never seen so much serverhopping in so little time.
  12. In any server that is not easymode, you can use mildots for getting range, however since the CZ does not have those, you can only try to get it from target width, which is very unreliable if the target is not directly facing you or looking away from you. As far as mildots and crouched or prone targets go in DayZ: Dot-Count x 2 = Distance for crouched Dot-Count x 6 = Distance for prone Now all you need is a rangetable for your gun. Easy to find on google.
  13. OP, you seem to fail to understand how gunfights work in real life. There's no such thing as running in there, hoping the guy around the corner has worse aim just because you iz so 1337 @ 1000s of PvP hours. It's been slapped in your face multiple times and I'll do it as well: move with cover, keep a low profile as long as possible, don't aggro, DO NOT AGGRO, peek in from the outside, move, loot, get out alive. It's a simple concept really all you need to do is think out of the box. When most people run up to a square what do they see? A fucking square! I see sniper locations on the hill behind, windows at the bottom of the corner across, a backdoor as escape on the closest building, a possible encounter at the building right and a player on the other side guesstimating just the same thing. That is how you survive. Outhink, outsmart, outshoot. That's all there is to it.
  14. Even if it's from a legit spawnpoint, the rifle is hacked in. Most likely the guy hacking it in dropped if for something easier to use because of the scope with the built-in rangefinder. I'd drop it if I were you.
  15. You spend way too much time on these forums. Where do you dig up all those threads!? ;) Anyways, thanks for the clarification and the extra infos, I take back my previous statement.
  16. As much as I disagree with the OP, Zed's got something wrong bigtime. Ever since the bandit skins were removed, average life expectancy has hit the floor. It was well around 4 hours when I joined this mod. Four hours. That is bigger than 30 minutes. There is an issue at hand and it needs to be solved. Without hurting gameplay that is.
  17. .. what is up with all the extremely easymode servers lately? 3rd person, crosshairs, nametags and map position(!)? Really? Here's a couple of things to think about: 1.) Just because you look around corners in 3rd person, doesn't mean someone else is not doing it also. 2.) Just because you can fire any weapon from the hip with crosshairs doesn't mean someone else is not doing it also. 3.) Nametags don't only give away your position to anyone who has a scrollwheel and looks around regularly, if you press space and look around you can find vehicles, tents, etc. 4.) What exactly is the purpose of map position/magic gps enabled? Do you also want to be handheld on your way in the woods? Seriously, a few easy places for beginners are alright but 70% of the populated servers seem to be running these settings lately.
  18. Have been using the camo face for weeks now, no issues on any server with faces that come with Arma and can be set via what the OP described. If you try to get a custom face via squad.xml you may run into some issues as some servers have th allowed size set to 0kb, which means insta-kick as you try to join.
