Over the past year I took a screenshot of my character every time I stopped playing. I did so whether I played for 30 mins or 6 hours. To preserve continuity I didn't include first person servers and private shard screenshots. Here's the slideshow. [1:51]

Thanks. I played some patches more than others. Also there were a few game releases that temporarily focused my attention elsewhere (Shadow of Mordor, Civ Beyond Earth, Wasteland 2).

I met a player who didn't have a gun inside a house, so I tried talking to him. He said a few words and disappeared around the corner. I was in such a friendly and unsuspicious (not sure if that's a word) phase of my DayZ evolution that I just followed him. As soon as I entered the doorway I got axed in the shoulder. I wasn't happy and I ran back. He stayed in the room and it looked like he was still standing behind the same wall. I sprayed the wall with my M4 thinking all I needed to do next was to go and finish him off, in case he survived those hits. As you probably suspect DayZ had something different in mind for me. :) Long story short I killed the guy in the end but could have done without the second axe hit that ruined some of my gear. My at the time inexperienced and overly trusting approach aside - I thought to myself: What on earth is that wall made of? It was just wooden planks. It turns out it's not just walls - there are a lot more bulletproof objects currently in DayZ. My friend and I have done hours of testing. Does anyone have information on bullet ricochet? Have you witnessed it happen or have you tried to get a bullet to ricochet on purpose? I saw a couple of videos yesterday that made it look like it's in the game, but I've never seen it myself.

I used to spend a lot of time moving from place to place on foot and often I found very cool stuff in the woods. Tents, cars, bases, even helis. This shows one of the occasions not long after I started on a new server so a discovery like that was a big deal. Here's what happened next. *facepalm*

Rasputin was a blast to record. My favorite part was when I sat on the ground next to that zombie and it didn't notice me even after I opened and drank a can of Rasputin. Thanks for the feedback. I wanted the Kamyshovo Appeal to have a slightly slower pace, but it's so easy to overdo it. I'll keep it in mind when I make the next one. And in case you're wondering - Yes, Kamyshovans will get their beans! :D

burlap sack + rope makes an improvised backpack. improvised backpack + sticks makes a courier backpack. Not sure about the number of slots, but it's better than nothing.

Step 1: Get the bright green (not dark green) Hydrated and Energized status by eating and drinking enough and then keep it. Step 2: Get shot & lose blood. Step 3A - Thanks to Hydrated & Energized start regenerating blood immediately after getting shot. or 3B - Die of more gunshot wounds. Did I miss anything?

Shooting new spawns is uncool imo, but the golden rule in the days of the Mod was "Get off the coast if you want to live". Much has changed in DayZ since then, but not that.

Beans for the stats part. I'd like to know how many miles I made my guy run across chernarus or how many zeds I've put to final rest. Some stats like "times shot" would be a cool indicator of how many times your survivor got shot and survived. I'd also like to see a stat called "Beard length" and "Top beard length" showing how long your beard is and the longest beard you've ever had (after beards are - hopefully - added). Right, Gandalf?

I see a lion, a bunny and a frog... wait.. is this a DayZ Rorschach/inkblot test?

They should have called it cardiac arrest (as a result of trauma or blood loss) instead of heart attack and avoid all this. Because when you say heart attack people imagine a fat guy sipping soda and eating a burger dropping down (after trying to outrun a zombie perhaps). I'm sure that won't happen to your character, even after you've sprinted from Balota to NWAF. Let's keep in mind that not all devs are native speakers.

It seems that items stored in your pants and shirt/hoodie/jacket take the most damage. A good idea is to store more valuable items in your backpack and things like rags or spare food in your trousers.

Try making a splint out of rags and sticks. Easier to find than morphine. Enjoy your invincibility and use it for the good of humankind (Survivor by day, superhero by night).
