How is that different to people typing in chat? Or talking in direct?

Playstyle called "The Righteous Gunslinger of Chernarus" 1. Only gear allowed: cargo pants with either a fnx + ammo or magnum + ammo; t-shirt; fresh-spawn shoes. The idea is to look like a fresh spawn. 2. Seek out other players on the coast. Whenever you find a group of armed players handcuffing, force-feeding, blood-draining, etc. fresh spawns you pretend to cooperate with their instructions and in an opportune moment you pull your weapon and gun them down like the righteous gunslinger you are.

You read my mind. I can so see two guys facing each other in front of the City Hall in Cherno, their magnums in their chest holsters and trigger fingers itching. I hope a sombrero or a sort-of a cowboy hat will be added to the game. I know it doesn't fit the Chernarus setting, but some cow farmer out there must have had a hat like that.

I always carry some rags with me. Not much point waiting for a bleeding to start. Be like a scout - be prepared. (Scouts live longer) T-shirts and bandanas can be ripped up into rags. You're bound to find a few of each when you first spawn. Also make your t-shirt into rags when you exchange it for something with slots. You can carry stacks of up to 6 of rags and clean them with alcohol (not sure this makes a difference at this point).

What is the deal with all the city names etc. being in Russian and all the books in English?

I like the first three. Definitely at least to try it out in game. As for random passer-by surgery: I imagine most people would just stuff a rotten apple into the wound and laugh. Maybe top it up with a can of soda. But I like it even though it would mean dying a lot more often for lone wolves like myself.

It happened to me once way north when I tried climbing off a ledge on this huge metal shed. I guess my character got bored of the stuff I put him through day by day and took the plunge.

I think I've heard of your condition before, it's called big guns, small penises.

Nearly every day I find myself wishing there were more players like you. And not just the days I die with my hand raised greeting a player I just met.

I played the DayZ mod for over a year and wanted to share what I've learned with those who were new to the game. Now that Standalone is out I've started a new series dedicated to SA only. Communication = waving hello to a player I just met. Interaction = getting shot by said player. Something like that?

I wouldn't drop the note, but leave it in my inventory and write something like "You're such a douche for shooting me, dude."

It's difficult to aim for the head when you're running in a circle. :) But at least that way the zed can't hit you. Also the weapon makes a big difference. I tried it with a crowbar and a pipe wrench off camera and scored a good few hits to the head. It still took a while to take them down. The server difficulty (recruit, regular, veteran) might make a difference, too.

They change. I had A+ before and now I'm AB+ (lucky, I know).

I don't know if you can craft double mags, but you can certainly find them.

Do you mean my NVIDIA settings or in-game settings?

My specs: Intel i7-3610QM Quadcore 2.30GHz RAM 8GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M 2GB I added -maxMem=7168 -maxVRAM=2047 -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 to my launch options and experienced a mild FPS boost. (I didn't mind the loading time. I've decided not to do anything in the .cfg file as the guide above doesn't say what the values mean or what changes in game). I had the game on low resolution and details and only got 7-9 FPS in Cherno, which was awful. This change gave me an extra 5 or so. Then I went to NVIDIA Settings and manually switched off a few things - mostly antialiasing, etc.This finally gave me the FPS boost I've been looking for. I now get 20+ in Cherno at 1920x1200 res and details on normal. I haven't been to the wilderness since I changed the options, but I imagine it will be awesome. :D

The small green plant to the right of my ghillie character is comfrey leaves. So far I have found them several times but there seems to be no way to actually pick them up. Hopefully in the next update.

A crate currently doesn't have any use. It is assumed it will be an ingredient in a crafting recipe in one of the future updates.

Hello survivors, To all of you who are new to the game I'd like to recommend a series of video guides I made. It's aimed at players who are familiar with the basic mechanics of the game, but struggle to make any real progress before they die. The guides are step-by-step so in the first episode you will learn what to do when you first spawn on the coast and as you progress further you it will show you where to find a car, how to get it running and so on. I've been playing DayZ for over a year and I'd like to share what I've learned during that time with other players. What I see a lot on the servers I play is new players who keep dying over and over again until they give up and leave. DayZ is a great gaming experience once you overcome the challenge that is being new and alone in a hostile world full of zombies and unpredictable players. I am new to making videos and like with everything there is a learning curve. What I can promise you, though, is that all the relevant and important information you'll need to survive in DayZ is there. Note to experienced players: Many things I show are a matter of play style rather than a case of right/wrong. I've never been a part of a clan or a stable group in DayZ so most of the time I had to fend for myself, get my blood back without bloodbags, find my own gear and keep it safe, pretty much survive I Am Legend style. I welcome any feedback you might have and hope we can exchange survival stories by a campfire some day.
