Obs Vs. Bandicam Recording Software
knoCC (DayZ) replied to knoCC (DayZ)'s topic in Technology/Programming
I appreciate all the input boys, I am looking for someone who has used OBS exclusively. I tried Fraps and it was too much for me PC. I thought I tried Dxtory once upon a time, I really can't remember. Never tried MSI. -
The Dark Side....who Is With Me?
knoCC (DayZ) replied to DirtyscumbagLith's topic in General Discussion
Come to Balota friend...you'll never be seen or heard of again. On a lighter note, Beans for titties!!! -
So I can have precious human interaction like this in the treelines of Balota... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_0bvGo419g

I prefer the original background music of the mod that repeats. I always felt it fit perfectly, especially at night. When I started playing more and rolling with groups, I muted it so I could hear the hunters and the hunted, gunshot locations, etc.
-
It...it was YOU!
-
They had that in the mod where you had to dress warm or your temp. would drop. It was pretty cool. Hopefully that will be implemented as well.
-
Definitely a ghillie suit. Yes!!! That moment when you realize your hunter is wearing the face of your former teammate who died 5 min. ago.

That is a great statement and funny because I have the opposite problem. I see tons of these "I don't trust anyone anymore" or "I'm shooting on sight from now on" on the forums, but in-game I meet all sorts of friendlies. Weird. I guess that makes me the Golden Child. Is it cause they like my gangsta walk? (gangsta walk) Is it cause they like my gangsta talk? (gangsta talk ooohhh) Is it cause they like my handsome face? (handsome face) Is it cause they like my gangsta ways? (gangsta ways ooohhh) Whatever it is, they love it And they just won't let me be

Why so many bandits? How to deal with them?

I want to see the vid which clearly shows you missing her completely with that punch and her chasing your ass down the street, both of you ending up in between the corner of a fence and a house where she commences to beat the living shit out of you.
-
Was there lightning and thunder? I miss that on the mod. Could use the rain and the thunder to mask movements when hunting or fleeing enemies.

knoCC (DayZ) replied to Catalpa's topic in New Player Discussion
Catalpa, Bruh, please listen to me.... I don't know where these other dudes are playing or what type of servers, but believe me when I say this... There are way more friendlies then you think out there. Not everyone is out to kill you. I don't know how you approach people, but you should try something different. I am not a Bandit, nor do I start shit with anyone I assume to be friendly. The times I have been killed I have either got jumped or refused to be a victim. I play on 30 or 40 man servers only and will not join a server that has less than 30 people on it. I constantly meet friendlies and non-violent people who are either new or know how the game works. I will roll with you and help you get kitted so you can defend yourself. Don't become some dipshit who thinks everyone is out to kill you because another dipshit fucked you over. I'm not some savior nor do I feel I'm above anybody or better than anyone else. I just have a knack for meeting and rolling with people who want to survive and are generally friendly. Dying is part of the game, but you can have a lot of fun when you roll with others. That whole trust no one is bullshit...do I die sometimes, yes. Do I sulk about it, hell no. Sometimes I find it funny. I keep on going. If I get lucky, I run into the same people who killed me and that's when it gets real fun. The only way to deal with Bandits is to hide in a bush and cry yourself to sleep or take them on by yourself or with a group. Anytime you need help or wanna roll, hit me up. Adventure awaits. I would like the ability to skin corpses and wear their faces as masks. Then I could live the rest of my DayZ running around the forests and treelines of Balota howlin' at the moon and terrorizing anyone and everyone who dared to cross the City Limits...

Better that then two goats having sex, right? God, I miss goats. -
Come to Balota friend...your next snapshot will be you in your white shirt and panties...I might let you keep that cute Beret. I can't wait until we can skin people...
-
Good for you sir. Don't allow yourself to get bullied on these boards by God knows what type of people... Edit: BTW, thanks for the info. because I do not follow anything else on DayZ besides these boards.

All people have the same problem about other is friendly or not...

LOL...it definitely is a shit idea. But let this man have his dream... You're kind of a dick, but a funny one. -
This is a video game ? Shit!? I should probably stop stabbing myself and knocking my head into the wall everytime I get axed or punched. Realism my ass... I agree OP.

I don't know if OP did or did not play the mod, but vehicles in my opinion are more dangerous then roaming around on foot could ever be. The only thing that becomes easy is the fact that you can explore or get to point A from point B faster then walking or sprinting. Yes, you can stash loot and supplies in them which is great. But vehicles are very delicate, a few shots and they are disabled. if you don't have parts or tires, vehicle is now useless and then it's Black Hawk Down time. As far as not planning your route whilst in a vehicle, not true. You have to plan extensively of where to go and the threat levels. Speaking of threat levels, you are now public enemy #1 when you have a vehicle. Vehicles are loud, every Bandit, Survivor, and Hero will come out of their holes or stop what they are doing when they hear the distant hum of an approaching vehicle. If you have ever been in a vehicle in DayZ mod, you know that some are faster than others. You know that stopping in a town to loot is not jump out, grab, and go. It is a risk that more times then not ends up with a gunfight. You get killed if you're lucky. You get all your loot and vehicle stolen, blown up, or damaged if you're unlucky. Risk vs. Reward. The paranoia that follows jumping out of a vehicle to loot a hospital, knowing damn well everybody in and outside of the town you're in heard you or saw you and are either watching you through a scope or are hauling ass to your location is what made vehicles in the mod. If you are rolling with others, you pray to God that they are watching your back or grabbing shit quickly and are ready to go. It's like robbing a bank, you got about 3 minutes before an inevitable shitstorm rolls in... I used to pride myself on waiting for a vehicle to stop to loot and creeping up and stealing it...honking the horn as I drove off with my new loot while taking shots from the previous owners. Vehicle ARE a must in my humble opinion.

Welcome to DayZ Bobby...
-
I think there also should be an insta-kill feature....no cutscene bullshit or anything like that, but when you are on a player who has their back to you it should pop up as an option. This would make the paranoid experience of constantly watching your back even better. I remember when I used to play Star Wars Galaxies many moons ago, they had a Deathblow feature which was one of my favorite options about the game. If you were PVPing and you knocked someone unconscious, they had a minute or so to recover and you could stand over them and decide their fate. I would tell my unconscious prey that there was no need to be frightened, this was all for the best. They were heading to a better place (all this while /petting their head)then...Deathblow.

Perfect post. Good luck to you sir. I just got chased out of Berezino about 45 minutes ago. I was scavenging and I ran across this dude. He was friendly and was asking me if I had found anything. All the sudden another dude comes running from behind and hits me with a bat or axe. I flee. These two assholes are laughing and chasing me for a bit. I manage to get back to the coast and head W. They manage to catch up to me and I try to fight them, but get knocked unconscious. I had been laughing uncontrollably when I was getting chased because I was actually frightened. The best part was when I lay unconscious, I hear another dude who must have been up the road. He starts talking to these two asking if they want to join some "New Zealand" something or other. He asks why I'm laying on the ground, did I take something from them. Then I hear one of the dudes say "We just killed this dude because he stole our stuff and then ran away." Laughed so hard I cried. Love this shit!

Come to Balota friend, I need another Bandit head to impale on my bedpost...

How successful would DayZ be on consoles?
knoCC (DayZ) replied to kermo50's topic in General Discussion
I am both a PC and console gamer (Xbox 360). I just like to game, I could give two shits who or what is more superior. DayZ should not be introduced to consoles because I feel the bitchin' and bullshit that I see on these forums would increase 1,000,000 fold. This game is meant to be played as a PC game. Simple as that. I feel that it will eventually be on consoles and might be popular for a hot minute. But console gamers will get bored rather quickly and it will die a quick death after scrutiny from all outlets. I was a PC gamer before DayZ and actually got into this type of game because of Operation Flashpoint. While I respect Rocket and his views about this being strictly for PC gamers, I can't deny the facts.... $30 million+ off of the Alpha on a PC game. XboxOne/PS4= $60 game...millions upon millions of console gamers waiting for the next big thing that isn't BF or COD Rocket's conscience= Sellout and die a fuckin' trillzillionaire or stay true to your roots. *My verdict: DayZ coming to a console near you...
