  1. MAKE: Any form of basebuilding, underground, above ground, modular, i dont care. Trying to find a nice set of trees to make an ATTEMPT to hide my stuff for atleast 1 hour before some lucky bastard flies over in a heli and sees it is getting VERY old. New reload animations for EACH INDIVIDUAL GUN! Comepletely redone sounds, weapon models, and vehicles. Redone stealth system that uses the actual Zed's eyes and the direction it's facing. (kinda like skyrim but not as overpowered :p) More STABLE (notice I said STABLE) offroad vehicles such as a UTV, buggy, sandrail, etc.. BREAK: Vehicles similar to what is currently in the mod. (The vehicles we have now are unrealistic and the guy who designed them needs to be punished >:( ) Same sounds and/or models from ARMA II Donator Perks Death Messages (ex. "[1337] LeGiTfOx has been killed by Bob at 259.83m" The same old m16/m4 reload animation *cringe* Pristine vehicles that dont belong (ex. the SUV) The action bar being like WarZ (I have only seen it in the videos Dean has put out. I kinda like the idea but if it is anything like what WarZ has (yes I did play WarZ to get a review on it) then SA is a no-go for me) These are my opinions :p

    I'd be THAT guy that gets on top of Sniper Hill and gets his teammates to push him down the hill while he's laying on the couch.

    Additional Vehicle Suggestions

    I know I was just using it as an example. the SUv can go much faster than the 115 kph that it is capped at. Edit: And my whole purpose of this is to make things like traveling and even car chases more realistic. It also requires you to be alert and pay attention, rather than how it is now. In the mod, if you can dodge barricades, it's just holding W and Shift 100% of the time from point A to B. Theres no "Oh ****! There's a barricade and I'm going 120 mph!". Then of course when you are going at those speeds, it causes more danger to you. in the mod today, I can go 70 mph roughly in the SUV and turn hard right and it'll just slide and stop. IRL, if you do that, good luck surviving the crash. All I'm getting at is there needs to be immersion with the new vehicles. Since ARMA II was more focused on infantry performance, the vehicles were cut short on detailing. ATM they feel like giant blocks with VERY little body roll and no concerns at all. They dont FEEL like a vehicle, they feel like lightweight trains on very firm tracks.

    ESRP made a statement back when multiplayer was getting big and they said (in my own words of course :D) "Ratings can vary online". Taking that into consideration puzzles me why Dean is worried about offensive language. It's everywhere in the world. You could be a perfect little virgin child, but if you socialize at all and go to places like the store or a fair or anything of the such, you WILL overhear a curse word. And if Dean thinks it's gonna make him look bad, I don't think it will. Dean's job is to be head of the dev team and to fix bugs and glitches after the game is released. NOT to go chase around people who who write "lol faggot" on a piece of paper. And it's not much different than cursing in side chat, or better yet writing offensive language on a black marker on the map. Everyone can see it and it doesn't go away until the server restarts. Has anyone even complained about that? Because I have not seen one post about it.

    Standalone Graphics

    I just want to see if Rocket is gonna lock certain settings since at E3, they were using a semi crap PC and were getting 50 frames. It was most likely on low tho ;) I shouldnt have a problem running AS LONG AS they balance out CPU and GPU usage. ARMA II was waaaaay too cpu intensive. I built a new rig for SA and a few other games and it runs a i5 cpu clocked at 4.2 Ghz and a gigabyte windforce gtx 770 overclock gpu, so as long as they balance out CPU and GPU usage, I don't think I'll have any problems.

    1.8 Zombie damage

    I personally think the damage you receive from zombies is a bit much after they added 1.8. I get they are trying to make things harder so you're not gliding though chernarus with no problems and to promote team work but there is a fine line between something being a challenge and something being annoying. On average, from a few tests I have done, I lose anywhere from 500-1000 blood every hit. And someone is gonna say "Well dont get hit you stupid bambi", But after they have fixed attack angles, attack distances, etc for zombies, it's become more than just "dodging" them.

    [SA] Deathmessages - yes or no?

    I personally hate death messages just due to the shear fact that you can't pull stealth kills. Say there's a group you've been stalking that for some reason uses in-game chat rather than a 3rd party chat room (skype, vent, teamspeak, etc..). You have a silenced pistol and go to take out a member who's gone astray from the base. "[1337] xXLeGiTeYeBaLlXx HAS BEEN KILLED BY BILLY" Boom, game over, your cover is blown. THAT is why I don't like death messages.

    Vehicle Suggestion.

    I still think they should add Willys Jeeps in the same light as the UAZ-469. That UAZ model was in 1973. And don't forget, like the UAZ, the Willys Jeep has many different models that range from first model to the most modern version. And I'd highly disagree with placing DayZ in the 80's. If that were the case, you'd have to get rid of the SUV, Offroad Pickup, Little Bird, etc. And taking the Weapon Wishlist into consideration, you'd have to knock off about half of the items listed on it. You kinda get the idea.
  10. In short, I updated to 1.8 and when i tried to join a server, it tried authenticating for a minute or two then said it failed and to try reconnecting. I did so 5 times with the same result. Anyone know a fix? P.S. I was playing on the prior patch fine then logged out and updated. Since I have downloaded 1.8, my authentication has been failing.

    Vehicle Suggestion.

    I just hope they don't add the SUV in standalone. It feels WAY too out of place in an apocalyptic world. And hopefully most of these cars are sun-baked and/or rusted since dayz is rumored to take place 1 year after the infection. So, I'd bet money in a DayZ situation, you'd see american hardware.

    Stealth mechanic is broken by the way. For instance I was crawling about 30 ft away from a zed and both the sight and sound meters were both on 0% yet he still aggroed. 1.8 has pushed me to start using that mechanic but almost every time I try to use it, it breaks and every Zed within a square mile tags on me. I wouldn't be complaining if the stealth was actually fixed. This is why I stopped playing the mod as much as I use to, because it is a great mod and all, but there are too many necessary things that need to happen that Arma II cannot support.

    And please realize that not everyone plays like you. And I'm not complaining because it's too hard, i'm complaining because the zombie damage is no where NEAR logical. Get slapped and lose 1k blood. Sound right to you? I'd highly doubt it. If the zombie had a knife strapped to his hand, I wouldn't complain because it actually holds some logic to it now. DayZ is a game that strives for realism and losing 1k blood from being slapped by a blunt object (his hand) seems completely off to me.

    Clothing Degradation and more..

    I just love it when people talk about this and dont refer to Dean's most recent video with him explaining he upped the degradation percentage to showcase in the video. When the game is released, the degradation of items will be MUCH MUCH lower than what was shown in the video. Degradation had to be implemented to be honest. It's as simple as you would NEVER see someones clothes stay in perfect condition if they were to do things like: -walk 20km -do the same thing as #1 but with it raining -a feral zombie punching, scratching, or slapping you -getting shot multiple times by a bandit who wants your beans -etc.. Now, I do disagree with weapon degradation upon usage if it were to the extent of Fallout (3 or New Vegas). And most people kill someone because they might have something you don't own and/or desire to have. It MIGHT not solve the KoS problem in DayZ, but it will at least be an effort to do so. It'll be a LOT better than what we have now. I'm gonna go ahead and use that same phrase for every idea rocket has for Standalone. Sure the ideas might not suit everyone, but it's MUCH better than what we have now.

    Well I use the same technique, run 5m, fire, run 5m, etc yet I still get hit...often. Idk if it has anything to do with server connection but I feel after I started playing 1.8, I have been getting hit a LOT more than usual. I usually never get hit to be honest. And its the fact that the zombie is slapping, punching, clawing, etc that makes me not understand 1. How you lose that much blood per hit and 2. How you end up bleeding like someone used a razor to cut open a main artery. Now if they bit you, that would be more understandable, or if they have any kind of sharp object they are holding. But in seeing realistic measures, the best I have ever seen a slap do was knock someone out for a few minutes, and for punching the worst that could happen would your spleen rupturing, internal bleeding, broken bones, etc and those are effects you are likely to see when being punched by heavy weight MMA fighters. Idk, this is just my thoughts on the damage system to make it more of a challenge to not getting bear-hugged by a Z (leads to being bitten and eventual death if you look at shows such as the Walking Dead) rather than being bitch slapped by one while rounding a corner and losing 8-12% of your health immediately.
