    Your weapon list was very small and.....kinda specific, almost like you want certain weapons just for you. Doesn't work like that. A lot of the stuff you posted is just pointless.

    Steam Database just read 15 active players playing 6 minutes ago. We are slowly getting there. Once we get around 20-30 players with a session being over 1-2 hours with no crashes, then I think Dean may release it. So far we have seen 29 people on the server but the playtime wasn't long. Dean has gotten the server to actually accept that many people into the log-in, now he just has to make it stable with those people.

    All vehicles have some sort of cooling system being a fan, radiator, or whatever. Unless you're constantly racing the engine, I don't see how running the car all day long could cause short term damages.

    In DayZ, Dean wants the player to have a lot of control over his/her character, and to help with this, I feel the vehicles in DayZ should be manual. It would be a drastic change from how we drive now. Instead of just holding W all the way to your destination, it would require you to utilize correct starting procedures, shifting, clutch, etc..

    And making controls for the car wouldn't be difficult. I used to write engine E2's for Garry's Mod and I never had to map a vehicles control that was out-of-reach from any of your fingers. Most of them were VERY comfortable. For example: W= Throttle (75%) S= Brake A&D= Turning Shift= Throttle (100%) X= Shift Up C= Shift Down Space= Clutch Parking Brake= V -OR- (for a more modular and comfortable set) W= Throttle (75%) S= Brake A&D= Turning Shift= Throttle (100%) MScrollWheelUp= Shift up MScrollWheelDwn= Shift Down RMB= Clutch Parking Brake= V Or an atlernative to this: W= Throttle (75%) S= Brake A&D= Turning Shift= Throttle (100%) LMB= Shift up RMB= Shift Down Alt= Clutch Parking Brake= V There are many ways you can config the keys to make driving really modular and comfortable.

    Well, then that kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it? Cars in DayZ shouldn't be the easiest thing in the world to operate. Using the Take-On: Helicopters engine, the helis in DayZ SA will be VERY complex and you might find yourself dumbfounded trying to start it. With that being said, I think car mechanics should be revised to be a bit more complex. We are aiming to make this game hard. Currently some average joe can just hop in a heli they found at balota and fly it no problem. I know this because it happened to me. Little kids start crying? Let them cry. The spoiled brats would wish they would respect and appreciate their parents more.

    Here in America, our drag cars reach a point where an auto-gearbox is needed due to: #1: Lack of hearing the engine's RPM and #2: Reaction time since the car can rev from 1000 rpm to 8000 rpm in the blink of an eye. In addition, I don't see why most people assume that Americans all drive auto. Where I live, most cars are manual. Heck, I drive a manual and wouldn't have it any other way.
  12. Idea is to get rid of the indicators that tell the health of the hull, engine, fuel, and tires. We could replace the indicators with certain sounds and feedback. I.E. You start the car and the engine is knocking. This means you should probably fix the engine. You look at the car and the tires are deflated. This means you need new tires. The body is scratched and dented. Then it needs a new hull. You check the tank and it's leaking fuel. Well you need a new fuel tank. And for the fuel, I'd think it would be fantastic if we had to rely on watching the actual fuel gauge in the interiors.

    That is also a thread started by me. I just saw this pop up in the thread and decided to put the spot light on it. Most cars in the east don't have automatic transmissions due to cost and manageability. Some country's don't have automatics because they don't have the tech for it. And it would actually add a lot to driving in SA. It revolutionizes the aspect of driving period.

    Don't see how this is viable since airbags aren't supposed to harm you unless you're a small dog or an a infant/small child.

    Put a list of any sights you'd like to see in standalone such as: -Holographic Sight (1x) -PSO-1 Sight (4x) -IRNV Sight (1x) -KOBRA Sight -Reflex Sight (RDS) -Coyote Sight (RDS) -PKA-S Sight (1x) -CCO Sight (1x) -M145 Sight (3.4x) Etc.... This can be any sight of any kind, shape, functionality, country, whatever. When SA get's here and there are only a few types of sights, I think the modular weapon building will get boring very quick. This can be put forth to give player more options and to keep the modular weapon building more unique.

Since I told you it WILL look like that, then I have jinxed the galaxy to work in my favor. Have fun with DayZ SA downloaded but unusable :D
  17. And the reason I say this is because the weapon degrading over time is completely useless for SA. Why? I have used stock AR-15 (Civi M4 variant) barrels in competitions a lot in the past. And it takes me a LOT more rounds to wear down anything in the gun that will ever be available to you in SA. I do agree with gun treatment/cleaning 100%. But if my barrel wears down just from putting 20 or so mags through, then I will "kindly" ask dean to replace my plastic barrel. The only thing I think I would agree with in full is adding in dangers of barrel heat. For example, in the DayZ Mod, you can Take a M240 Bravo and hold the trigger for the whole clip to run dry. Can you do that in real life? Sure, but you'll warp the shit out of the barrel. Although I can only see this being viable to LMG's, unless Dean adds C-mags, Drum-mags, etc... (which I hope he does).
  18. I'm sorry but in no way should weapon health be in SA if it doesn't relate the the actual gun being shot. I swear to my maker that if DayZ SA guns are ANYTHING like Fallout: 3/New Vegas's gun durability, then I will personally slap whichever dev implemented it.

    Too many people in different countries play DayZ. Dean would do his newly developed game a HUGE disservice by making a regional release.
  20. This is great. I think hide body should be available though. It can work like this: You have to have a shovel on your person. The process is you Click hide body and goes into this long drawn out animation and when completed, works similar to the hidden stashes we have now. Its a small 6ft long subtle mound of bright/discolored dirt. It'll be hard to spot but if another player comes by and sees it, they can uncover the body by digging the body up.

    With crossbows being in SA, its evil twin sister should also be preset. The Compound Bow. I have always been a HUGE fan of Compound bows and I will be VERY VERY disappointed if SA doesn't include one.

    If you add zombie children and the ability to kill them then you can go ahead and tell Australia to fuck off when Standalone is released. Dean mostly wants this game to be known and played worldwide. Adding kill-able Zed children will knock quite a few countries off the eligibility list.

    Ever since I started playing the DayZ Mod, I can't help but have a puzzled look on my face when someone shoots me with an AK and my character has no reaction. Yes, the survivors in dayz are basically trained soldiers. Yet, soldier or not, you WILL do something after being shot. This is why I suggest stumbling. This will be the "reaction" from being shot. When hit, your character stumbles in the direction that the projectile is traveling. And I know some of you will say "But this is unfair, that means we won't be able to control my character and I don't wanna stumble and blah blah blah". Well, I can honestly provide 1 piece of advice to avoid the "stumble" effect. Don't Get Shot. As for an example, I can provide this video from the Euphoria engine demonstrating how it CAN look.     Spawn in condition? I can easily see this idea being plausible. But the tires won't rot in the time that you may have the car. And I would not like seeing a sped up process. It's already bad enough as it is with the food. A normal person eats 3-4 times a day. An average dayz survivor eats 3-4 times an hour. You get my point.
