The Solnichniy and Elektro spawns are, from what I have heard, a glitch in the new update that was supposed to randomize them more. There will be many more in the future. I honestly hope we can see some in-land spawning. And I know people are gonna say "oh that's not fair, they get an advantage." But, honestly, not everyone get's equal treatment IRL. Some people will have more advantage than others.

It's good that you're starting to understand DayZ a lot better. But as far as being feral, I don't think it should drive them to the point of not feeling pain. Now this could open up the idea of epinephrine(adrenaline) in combat, causing you to feel less pain. But, being feral is just saying you're extremely savage, reckless, etc.. And yes, according to a long time forum user, the "Z" does mean Zero. It stands as the change of an era. It's old stories, legends, etc.. that state if something drastic were to happen to humanity or just the world in general that changes everything, it's called Day Zero.

A kick can be the most powerful blow your body can give to another thing. In heavyweight MMA, lots of guys deliver over 1000 lbs of force in one kick. I'm not saying make our characters kick as hard as a MMA fighter, but it would still hurt.

Heli's I agree with. But cars? Can we make a serious suggestion please?

We already have Ballistic Vest...

First post. We can see you are VERY new here. I'll make this out simple. These "zombies" aren't your stereotypical zombies. They don't have useless organs that aren't utilized anymore and are just running off some ungodly magic in the brain. What WE have are people that contracted an infection that drove them mad. It made them have a strange craving for live human flesh and whatnot. Imagine it like the creatures from I Am Legend. They were still living people, but with a strange pathogen that made them EXTREMELY feral. So, while I do disagree with shooting them in the leg and killing them, you shouldn't have to hit them in the brain. The zombies we have will take as much as a normal human would, as far as being shot.

Why should you lose accuracy when your left arm is stabilizing the pistol? -
Even though it's not made for sniping situations, it still can reach 500m easily. The game just has the wrong variables at the moment.
-
YES YES YES. Even though it may not be used much, I can see this as a "why not" kind of feature. But, because of that, I say implement it after all the important shit is fixed.
-
You know, if you have experience in gunsmithing, all it takes is one small metal piece to drop in the receiver to make it automatic. I'm not saying he really does have a full-auto AR-15, just saying its VERY possible.

Will never be possible with the RV engine that we have now. The way to map is made is, it's a huge surface with raised/lowered surfaces with textures over it. This means there's now way to add a form of "destroying" the surface, like you can in Battlefield 3/4. He can, however, add sort of a grate on the surface of the map. Upon clicking on it, you can be teleported to a single cell off the map boundaries (or under).

Ignorance. That's all I see here. I can honestly tell you that the M107 was probably locked into place with a mount for less kick and controllable sway. I have shot a 7mm mag many times before considering my dad and I both hunt with one and I can tell you, a .50 is like a mule taking steroids kicking your arm.
-
This is my point exactly. They require very little prior knowledge (for me, none at all) to fire. They are made to be idiot proof for the cadet's going into basic. (although, they use the M16A2 model, but basically the same functionality.)
-
I beg to differ. I started doing AR-15 matches when I was 15 and I was able to hit a target at 300m iron sighted while standing. People keep posting on how this gun will/won't do this whenever they have never even shot the damn thing. I have only seen a select FEW people ever shoot a M107 while standing, but they just shot it. You WON'T hit your target, I assure you. The M107 was DESIGNED to be operated (being carried, maintained, fired, etc..) by 2 people while in a prone position. And I know people say "Oh, but the survivors are just average people." Well, then why do they look so built? They look like they just came out of Basic Training. I honestly don't know if my view is being biased since everyone in the area that I live in has a gun, but I go to the range sometimes and see 10-12 year old kids firing AR-15's, shotguns, etc.. with ease.
-
I wish you guys would stop bringing up this "can't shoot without training" bullshit. Gun's are not hard to operate....at all. You guys look at them like they are from Halo for goodness sakes. And by the way, only a person who has shot a standard M4A1 before will know that a 5.56x45 has VERY little recoil.
-
M4A1's are EXTREMELY user friendly. You're probably just some kid that hasn't shot anything more than a .22 Lr. Go sit down. The reason we won't see .50 cal rifles is because we are in a VERY small country with nothing but farmland and a few bases that housed a MILITIA. NATO and the US Special Forces, even when on sniping missions, usually don't use a M82/M107/AS50. Why? There's no need when a Remington 700/M24/M39/Mk12 SPR/ etc.. can do the job equally as good. And I want you to find a .50 cal rifle in an apocalypse, sling on your back, and run 10 miles (which can easily be done with a moderately sized assault rifle). You can't. Even to give your best try at it, you can forget carrying the 60 lbs. of survival gar/backpack/helmet/clothes/etc...

I noticed a thread on what mag most people use for the M4 and the top answer was the 30/30 Rnd coupled mag. I myself have used this piece and find it very useful since you save lots of space and you have 60 straight rounds to shoot since there's no quick-reload animation yet. But, that's why this mag is a bit un-fair. I say this because you have 2 stanag mags. Un-coupled, these mags both take up 2 up-right slots in your inventory. So, having 2 uncoupled stanag mags in your inventory will take up a 2x2 slot-area. But, when you have 2 stanag mags coupled together, the two mags take up just 2 slots instead of 4. And with the mag just letting you shoot 60 straight rounds instead of reloading after 30, it make's it kind of un-fair. The whole purpose of coupling 2 mags together is to make every-other reload faster. Not so much to save space. I think Rocket should make the coupled mags take up 4 slots instead of 2 and, when appropriate, add the quick-reload animation for the 30-Rnd halfway point.

Balancing of the 30/30 Rnd. Coupled mags

It was just a suggestion, I wasn't really complaining. -
On a side note, you can easily get liquid cooling solution that isn't conductive. Water cooling is the way to go. Worrying about it being near electronics is kinda unnecessary.

Dice was sponsored by AMD when they released BF4. Of course you will get better performance.

The RV engine is the worst engine ever made.
SFRGaming replied to EchelonEffect's topic in General Discussion
Here's a visual example: Red = Size of which both Frostbite engines (as well as many other good graphic engines) can render. Green = Size of which the Dayz Standalone can render. -

SFRGaming replied to EchelonEffect's topic in General Discussion
I'm really sick and tired of this. "Oh, Rocket you have Frostbite 1 and 2 to use, as well as many other engines that have orgasmic graphics. Y u no use them?!?!?!" Maybe because: 1. They were never designed for a game like Dayz. 2. They are only capable of rendering maps 5km2 in size. 3. You need a god-awfulgood PC to run it. My point is, stop bitching and just be glad Rocket actually gave you a game rather than abandoning the damn thing. -
What exactly do ballistic helmets stop
SFRGaming replied to chasieboy317's topic in General Discussion
A standard ballistic helmet like this will stop standard pistol rounds, some might cause head injuries. If you want to stop a 5.56 or a 7.62 direct hits, you'll have to go with a Kevlar-based helmet.
