    Dev team, take some notes

    You even got that wrong. The guy in the video explained it's one of the cons to participating in raids. Dying means you lose everything and you have to rebuild your characters gear and skills even.

    Cable Car

    Now? Probably not. The way I see it, they could be. Someone mentioned a LONG time ago (before standalones alpha release) that it would be cool to get a group to repair the powerstation in elektro and provide electricity to a portion of the map. This could very well tie in to that suggestion.

    Cable Car

    It doesn't have to be used really. It's just the aspect of life that used to be in abundance in chernarus before the rage virus hit. I mean, do we NEED all the road blockades and the mass graves plotted around the map? Technically no. However, it adds a sense that something happened before you washed up on the shore of chernarus. I believe that is the main purpose of this.

    New Renderer

    I'm pretty sure they could still use the original arma 2 chernarus for that. But hey, let me humor you. Okay so, what if they built towns, but just not huge cities like they have now? I'd still be fine with that. Take zelenogorsk for example. In the mod, it was a medium sized town that was pretty balanced in my eyes. Then in standalone, they added hundreds of trees, lots of new extra buildings and what happened? fps dropped tremendously in that town. I rest my case

    It's because of the whole "Transparency" motto that Dean Hall filled his pre-game devblogs with. In every devblog he made before Standalone's release, you can hear him saying there will be transparency between the developers and the consumers.

    New Renderer

    What I said had nothing to do between the difference of a coder and an art designer. I simply stated that I wish they HELD OFF of making new cities. Not tell the art designers to code the engine. Please go reread.

    While it's obvious not to take the roadmap as a promise, I do understand your frustration. Being one of the people that bought the game as soon as it hit the steam store (as well as logged around 5000 hours in the mod(this is including both before and after it was added to steam)), I am also feeling similar. I made it habit to just come back periodically and see what's changed. I will say that the introduction of stable and persistent cars / tents/ etc has brought back memories of dayz mod. But the outdated engine really does kill some of the perspective. However, my griped isn't how long its taken them to code the new engine, but the fact they keep adding new, large towns and cities. At first, I was hoping svetlojarsk was a test to see how the engine would preform rendering high fidelity towns. But, as they kept pumping out more areas, I started to see how the fps was going to go down hill. Personally, I would have been fine with having the good old arma 2 chernarus that we had in the mod. I feel that even with the basic map, the cars and base building aspect that we have at the moment would still provide us with a very nice game. TL;DR: I don't mind the time it takes them to code the new engine. I just wish they would've held off of making new cities and keep the original map until it was appropriate to start focusing on huge cities.

    Finally returned

    I took a break to give the game time to develop a little more as I was a little dissatisfied when I left. Im happy to say that 0.59 has REALLY made me happy. Having the ability to fix up cars and make a small base with tents has brought back a truck load of memories from the mod. However, this update (along with a few slightly annoying bugs) has produced a huge fps issue for me. I know dayz hasn't always had the best performance; however, comparing to how it was a few updates back, I can see a massive drop personally. For instance, at green mountain I used to get 50-70 fps average around the time of 0.54. Now, I have 30 average and 40 at best. Has anyone else experienced this or is it possibly something wrong with my game? To add, I have tried every corner of config changes and launch parameters to combat this problem, but to no avail. Thanks in advance. Specs: (sig is outdated) i7-4820k @ 4.7 GTX 980 Ti (EVGA Superclocked ACX 2.0 FTW) 16gb DDR3

    Yes. In prior patches, I found disabling shadows and clouds can improve your fps. Is this still the case? I remember reading somewhere that the game runs better with certain settings maxed. Do you know which settings those are? I have tried different things with it but right now, all I have changed is GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

    Finally returned

    Peak CPU temp was 40 C and gpu was around the same temp (dayz barely touches the gpu from what I know) NewUI does increase my FPS but it doesn't display my hunger / thirst status and I don't want to restart my game just so I can eat and drink accordingly.

  16. Rocket has showed us some very nice footwear, but from what I have seen, there's not too much for variety. Here are a few I think should be in Standalone along with the footwear he has already implemented. I apologize if I mention any that are already added, I haven't seen a list enclosing the types that are already implemented :/ Average tennis shoes: Good for running long distances, moderate durability. Not good against extreme conditions (i.e. Heavy weather, swamps, creeks, etc) Brightly colored, not recommended for hiding/camouflage. Medium noise level. Found in average places. Rain boots: Good for extreme weather conditions, swamps, mud, etc. Not recommended for running long distances in. Range from brightly colored to dull dark colors. Medium to loud noise level. Found in average places. Flip-flops (thongs for the Aussies): Not very good protection. Not durable. Range from light to dark colors. Low to medium noise level. Found in average places. (could be ported from Arma 3) Sandals: Similar to flip-flops (thongs for Aussies), yet more secure and slightly more muffled in sound. Usually dark colors. Low sound level. Found in average places. Work boots: Very durable. Can handle extreme conditions and may play a factor in feet warmth. Usually dark colors. Medium to heavy noise. Found in places such as hardware stores or places with heavy machinery. Military Combat Boots: VERY durable. Handle most if not all extreme conditions. May play a factor in feet warmth. Come in dark/tan colors. Extremely mobile and viable to run in. Medium noise level. Very rare and can only be found in military barracks or any other establishment that may house military clothing/items. I again apologize if I listed any footwear that has already been implemented. These are just a few that come into mind for what I would like to see in Standalone.

    Have you ever considered just making a 5-10 minute video on new features rather than 10-20 0:50 videos? It's just an idea so you don't clog up your youtube channel.
