You apparently have never been on the opposite end of a gun with a suppressor.
-
Entirely untrue. M4A1's are in Chernarus as a remnant of the USMC coming in to try and control the virus (ARMA II DayZ Mod Lore). The Mosin and SKS were added because they would have been common within the civilians and militia within the country itself.

Why does the cross bow do more damage than the m4?
SFRGaming replied to taco86's topic in General Discussion
I have been looking at polls and most people have voted to be shot, rather than stabbed, and for good reason. http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-96224.html -
Why does the cross bow do more damage than the m4?

This sounds completely wrong. Idk, if its the way I'm reading it but low-velocity is the one thing that makes guns such as pistols deadly. -

SFRGaming replied to taco86's topic in General Discussion
The ball bearing would make a larger splash due to it's low velocity. A small projectile flying at very high speeds can easily puncture and exit a person with small effect if no vital organs are hit. Things like crossbows don't have near as much power. There's more of a chance of you having a bullet go clean through you, rather than a crossbow bolt. -
They are but that will come when they start updating the graphics of the game. Multi-GPU, Multicore CPU, Hyper-Threading, and x64 is on the development map for when that time comes.

Why does the cross bow do more damage than the m4?
SFRGaming replied to taco86's topic in General Discussion
Stabbing causes a much more pain inducing large-cavity wound that is much slower and more damaging than a bullet. I would rather be shot than stabbed myself. -
Was that your jab at not liking windows 8.1? If so, there's many more helpful things you could have posted instead of that...

FPS was 20-30. Specs in the signature :)
-
All of these were with the game running at 200% resolution (4K res) and everything maxed. Nothing here has been edited.

Maximum priority on the development of vehicles in Dayz?
SFRGaming replied to theprototypeOEZ's topic in Suggestions
"Recently i haven't really been playing dayz (standalone) mainly because of the long journeys i have had to go on to get from eg. barenzino to electro (which is an hour long journey) i think it would be great if Bohemia start putting priority on vehicles instead of other things that we don't need eg. extra towns in the north. Thanks" If you notice, that's your original message, not altered in any way. Sounds like you DO want them to take the main focus off of fixing bugs and terrible lag. Goodbye. -
It's playable, but I like having VERY high fps .
-
*sigh* the game was rendered at 4K resolution AKA 200% resolution scale. The actual screen isn't 4K

Maximum priority on the development of vehicles in Dayz?
SFRGaming replied to theprototypeOEZ's topic in Suggestions
Take all the focus off of fixing bugs and making your gameplay flawlessly smooth for YOUR benefit and develop vehicles that could possibly break them game to shit? Nope, nuh uh, not gonna -
Incorrect, Hyper-threading support will band across anyone or anything that uses a Central Processing Unit that has Hyper-threading.
-
A bit impatient this one...

Why am I laughing so much at this
-
You were posting lots of false information formed from rumors and bad sources, thus, Slander. You'd think, if you were so smart that you knew everything that goes in in making a game such as DayZ, you'd understand the definition of Slander...
-
Hence the reason I wrote that lol. I was stating we don't need "Military Training" to do this shit.

Rendering twice isn't a problem for the Engine's mechanics. The problem with rendering twice right now is the game runs at EXTREMELY low frames and rendering twice would amplify the low frames causing terrible performance. A lot of the games that have the 3D scopes (that render twice as shown in Insurgency or Red Orchestra) run on the Source engine, which can be ran by a toaster so can take the double render with ease. I think rocket should go the Insurgency way and make the detail you view through the scope changeable so if you have a basic home PC that runs DayZ okay-ishly but dies when you double render, you can change the graphics within the scope. Majority of people that play this game have a quad core and can benefit GREATLY from multi-core support.
-
Did you honestly COMPLETELY miss where I said, after lots of support for modern hardware and optimization?
-
OR Wait til we get Multi-core and Multi-GPU support, as well as hyperthreading support, and LOTS of optimization. Then we can get CORRECT scope zoom done the right way:
-
So what is your argument?

And if you notice, that "rectangular prism" is a detachable rail system. Take that rail system off and you have the exact same mount as the RDS or COMP sight for the M4. And why put a LRS on a M4? Dean said he'd like to add more factors to guns such as barrels. With us soon being able to attach longer (or shorter) barrels in the near future, the LRS could be a big factor to the M4.

A friend and I are currently doing a twitch stream marathon of DayZ Mod and Battlefield 4. Be sure to tune in for many laughs. Shenanigans shall be present! http://multitwitch.tv/artofstealth1911/sfrgaming
