The Night of Bad Luck.. aka, The Curse of the AKM
SFRGaming replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I used to have 4 for a VERY short time as I had 2 and found 2 more but as soon as I picked the mags up, session lost. -
The Night of Bad Luck.. aka, The Curse of the AKM
SFRGaming replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
OH okay i was a bit worried there for most of the story. Today I killed a guy at the triangular military base SE of Vybor and found out the AKM is pretty much a beast. 2 shots center mass dropped him and 3 to check (one hit the dirt a few inches before him). -
found in the gamefiles: painting the AKM?
SFRGaming replied to irishroy's topic in General Discussion
Due to the ability to remove the AK parts, I assume we will eventually get synthetic parts. Hell, maybe we will even get this: (Talking about the foregrip there) I painted my AK in Experimental last night but it seems the forearm piece and the AK body itself cannot be painted, only the stock. I imagine Rocket intended for the forearm and possibly the body to be painted, but someone probably failed configure it correctly. -
And that's Circle of DayZ Life.

The opposite view of FrankieonPC's newest video
SFRGaming replied to Lexta (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
Back to the OP, the only reason I disliked your video is because you altered the protagonist and the antagonist. You stated that his friend killed one of your mates, which we don't have factual evidence. You also said he presented you as "Nazi's", in which I never saw anything relating to such. Not to mention you stated you are not a bandit, yet you somehow ended up robbing him of his clothes and taking him hostage, as well as laughing in the process. I am not subscribed to Frankie, nor will I ever be. I'm not some undercover fanboy. I just hate it when I see false claims against other people when, clearly, the evidence shows otherwise. -

Here's a simple solution: If you wanted highly edited videos for strict entertainment YouTube If you want unedited gameplay that is not geared as much as YouTube is for entertainment Twitch -

Then how come I didn't hear it on his video? Don't blame others if it's your mistake. Couldn't watch the video at all. -
Please do not make separate threads for this subject as a pinned thread has been made for you to post in. Be sure to check the pinned threads at the top next time. To answer you question: It will run it at an okay/decent level. If you plan to play mostly DayZ, stick with Intel and upgrade your CPU, and then GPU (that is, if you plan to upgrade at all).

I honestly don't think much of how the weapons perform as of right now. We currently have a VERY basic damage system that is very similar to ARMA 2. Once the game has it's new medical and injury system that Rocket has mentioned quite a few times, then we can start looking at weapon performance. The new system basically breaks the body down into major parts. The Head will contain the Brain, Chest will contain Heart and Lungs, Abdominal area will contain the guts, and then you'll have your bone system that has major parts throughout the body (skull, ribs, spine, pelvis, limbs). Having a system like this will allow weapons to perform in a way where it has a HUGE influence on where you hit the victim. This is how I believe it will look: Missing vital areas or organs will leave the victim bleeding out, in extreme pain, etc... As for what the hits will do when striking said areas: If the player is shot in the head, obviously, the player will die. Any hits received in the lungs will result in shortness of breath, decreased stamina, and possibly a collapsed lung. Any hits received in the abdominal area with result in extensive bleeding and the inability to digest properly. Failure to address bleeding in the area can VERY quickly lead to a bleed-out. Any hits received to the heart can cause the victim to go into cardiac arrest and die within a 20 sec timespan. Any hits to the limbs can result in decreased mobility/ability to use weapons/tools, and eventually, complete loss of usage of said limb. As stated above, failure for the marksman to strike vital areas will leave the victim in pain and bleeding out, but still functioning.

To the people replying to the OP: You guys are the reason people think our community is shit. Just look at you acting like total asses towards the chap. Be ashamed of your behavior. To the OP: I do agree there needs to be balancing, but maybe not in the form you're thinking of. Sure it's not the best thing when you get sniped after collecting all of your gear, but that's life in DayZ. Sniping puts a "Background Pressure" on you as you never know when you're being watched. That's what makes DayZ special. Due to your unfamiliarity with this genre, it's expected for you to disagree with some aspects at first sight. And if there were no sniper, you could run rampant throughout any city without the fear of losing your head (literally). It requires you to move tactically and encourages teamwork. And that, my friend, is what DayZ is all about. Essentially, the reason there is a sniper as of right now is only because the game needed one for the sake of variety. If you notice, the only logical scope you SHOULD only be able to attach to the Mosin is the PU Scope. The LRS (Long Range Scope) doesn't even have the same rail system as a Mosin. Not too long from now, DayZ will have loot that is regulated by a central system. This means out of 100 servers, only 10 (say M40A3 sniper rifle) may spawn. Thus, reducing the amount of high-value weapons, making them a real target and treasure for anyone in the game. I hope you understand the concept.

Well, I would like for a slingshot in-game, just probably not a craftable one. You'd need specially manufactured rubber for it to actually work.

Knowing he was probably in deep shit since you found it off him, he probably went back to find you, giving you a BS excuse so he can avoid punishment.

Are you sure? Cars are supposed to start development in Q3 and that can only happen if physics is completely done. Seems a bit off to me. -

Well, balance needs to be present, but not being able to sling another weapon on your back in place of your 2h melee removes logic from the game. Logically, IRL, you can do it with no problem. And if anyone decides to say "Well it might weigh you down", it would be near the same weight if you had 1 rifle and 1 melee or 2 rifles.

Military bases have wayy to much loot
SFRGaming replied to Sirwarriant12's topic in General Discussion
Everywhere, for that matter, has too much loot so people can test the items they put in game. Come Beta/Full Release, loot will by hard to come by. -

Arma 3 is nowhere near as optimized as people say. And keep in mind Mulitplayer has a huge influence to where the server is located, who's hosting it, whats hosting it etc..
-
Keep in mind, by the time multiple vehicles have been added (the prime time to implement this), DayZ will have a whole new rendering/graphic engine with Multi-Core/Hyperthreading support, as well as DX11, x64, and support for other modern technology. FPS shouldn't really be a question by then.

The press vest IS the ballistic vest AFAIK.

Experimental Branch saw many changes in 0.44
SFRGaming replied to SmashT's topic in News & Announcements
*sigh* It's the same reason dogs shed in the summer. Do they have a say in the exact moment it happens? No, it's just their body adapting to its surroundings. If you walk around in rough gravel barefoot, the first several times you're possibly going to receive cuts and scrapes on the bottom of your foot. Eventually, you'll build up enough callus so your feet will be more resilient to cuts and scrapes. All I'm trying to say is a feral pig you'll find in the wild is the exact same pig you'd find on a farm. And that they can adapt faster than other animals. -
Did you not read what I typed? DayZ does not support Multi-Core CPU's, DX11, etc whereas Dark Souls 2 does... If you don't understand why the game is lacking as of right now, which you don't, then I highly suggest you don't play the game and don't complain about it. Hell, you're complaining about a game that you agreed to buy and play after clicking through several warning messages telling you the game is unfinished and broken.
