DayZ Standalone - Testing out the defibrillator (On a live person)
SFRGaming replied to TheVolatileGamer140's topic in Gallery
Very good video. Little tip: Pull the mic away from your mouth a little bit, you're breathing into it. Or, I highly suggest you go get a piece of foam to go around the mic. -
I don't think we will see rifles like that until they start controlling how the loot spawns. Deans wants to limit how many high-powered rifles are present in x amount of servers so every person isn't running around with one.

Currently streaming DayZ! http://www.twitch.tv/sfrgaming

Not if you're upgrading the CPU. And with the game soon supporting multi-thread, CPU upgrades will make a much larger difference than it does now.
-
Keep in mind, lowering some options may bring down your FPS. Launch commands are good too. Dunno why you would call bullshit, plenty of people playing with 50 fps on some of these other threads.I honestly can't wait till they add the new rendering engine. I'm hoping it has somewhat a similar effect that War Thunder had when switching to DX11. Having a very high-end rig like mine really doesn't serve any purpose if you just play DayZ. While I will get anywhere from 130-200 fps in Battlefield 4, I'm stuck in the 40-70 range with DayZ.
-
No, they don't work since they had trouble with the weapons changing over sound and aggro variables.
-
40-70 with everything maxed.
-
Keep in mind, upgrading your GPU will do VERY little to increase your FPS in DayZ.
-
Understandable. I wouldn't have minded the problem in stable but I can't really speak for the whole player base :p. The geometry problem is easily avoidable and I actually haven't encountered the problem for quite a while. I digress, glad to see you guys knocking out these problems. On a different note, any news on the rendering engine?

You missed the entire point that I was trying to make. We currently have no factor that affects you shot other than increased weapon sway due to running and dispersion. Fully rested, your weapon sway is so little, it's hardly ever noticeable. There's currently no wind, improper breathing, proper weapon sway, flinching, trigger pulling, etc... And just so you know, me telling you I can hit a man-sized target with an AR-15 @ 300m isn;t me trying to show off. I was giving you an example showing the AR-15 is not inaccurate weapon. Do I miss the target @ 300m? Of course, I would look like a loon if I said I didn't. If you put the AR-15 into a bench-firing mechanism and had it locked to a 300m target, I could almost guarantee the rifle itself would hit 8-9 / 10 shots on the rings, but every shot would hit the paper. Now, put it into a shooter's hands, and you will have to account for other factors such as flinching, breathing, trigger pull, etc.. "If you want to be realism wanks, what about requiring 20 - 50 shots to zero a new optic? Taking out a wrench to adjust the range?" Because that would be hyper-realism, something that drives away fanbase since it can take away from core gameplay and entertainment. Weapons having Real Life-reflective values? We NEED that as it can play a huge role in gun fights, but doesn't take away from gameplay like realistic zero'ing would. I'm all about realism, but if I had to go into a secluded area and fire off 20-50 shots just so I could utilize another optic sight, I would gladly never change out my iron sights. Now, would that system be more realistic than simply just slapping a sight oin and you're good to go? Absolutely, but the problem is it may be TOO realistic. It would take up too much time; not everyone has several hours to play this game.
-
That would be a terrible way of executing it. Currently, the survivors hold the iron sights PERFECTLY aligned. Why should the M4A1's dispersion be off? My suggestion is to give the weapons realistic sway (kind of like Arma 3), and then give the weapons their correct RL-reflective values. I have no military training, yet with a stock AR-15, I can hit 300m targets with irons prone. Dispersion should reflect off of weapon condition and the type of barrel, bullet size, etc.. The Magpul parts should affect weapon sway, weight, ergonomics, etc..

I'd ask if you're a troll, but that'd be pointless.

Well, I figured I'd post these here. A bit different. For those of you whole know chernarus like the back of your hand, you'll notice these places exist in-game. Road going up to Green Mountain: Ye ole' green gate that you see throughout most of the cities: Apartment buildings N of Cherno: Long white barn (the ones we have in-game) in "Berezino":
-
Where is this located in the city?
-
Was look at google maps to see if that quarantine zone matched anything and I though this was pretty cool. Road to Green Mountain:

[Streamer Request] Epoch Server is looking for someone to Record-Stream our Server!
SFRGaming replied to haywardgb's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I will oblige. http://www.twitch.tv/sfrgaming Be sure to tell your mates (anyone really) to tune in. -
One thing we have not discovered: What REALLY lies behind the sealed door inside the top room of the tower? I feel there's more of these radio boxes littered around the area. Once all are eliminated, a last resort message might play.
-
It's really laggy and it shouldn't be.

Well, my FPS actually went up in Exp compared to Stable. A bit weird yours declined. My second PC (the one I'm on at the moment) has the same CPU. -
Ahh. Well, with the overflow of kiddies joining the server lately, it's hard to tell anymore.

*sigh*

Also makes logical sense as there are almost no automatic cars in countries like chernarus.

I liberated gear from a bandit then had some fun with it.
