  1. I love Asus boards however they do sometimes carry a heavy price tag. Of course the quality is superb but for budget, I usually try to stay away from asus unless they have a reasonably priced board for the build. I do agree with the i5 quad core heavily and intel has a lot of new 1150 socket i5's that are tailored to any budget. i7's are getting some use with new games along with DX12; however, I would not suggest i7's in a budget still. ram is cheap but with a tight budget, 8gb is just fine. best budget Hdd is a 1tb Seagate barracuda (I think this is unrivaled lol) and I would go for the 960 (is the ti out yet?) for the sake of the 900 series having the same price that the 700 series had when they were new
  2. Are you truly this daft? You can still find good, new PC parts for cheap prices such as the EVGA ACX 2.0 Superclocked card for $150.
  3. What's your deal man? For an experienced PC enthusiast that knows what to look for, used PC parts might be a fine idea. But for the every day consumer that just needs something to work (especially with how cheap you can get quality parts that will output decent performance), there's no reason to gamble with used parts.
  4. I'm not saying this to suit myself. Buying used PC parts is a high risk business and rarely ever worth it.
  5. While you can benefit from it, you can also land yourself with a completely dead card that you paid 100 bucks for. My rule of thumb is never buy big pc items used. Ram is okay for it's simple cant-screw-it-up design but something like a gpu (especially aftermarket versions) have moving parts and internal components that can easily suffer from a bad overclock the previous owner might have used.
  6. With buying used cards being out of the picture (not a great idea tbh), there's no reason to buy a 760 now. The 900 series corresponding cards are so similarly priced that it would be a waste to buy the 700 series new
  7. I'm not sure that was high spec 5 years ago.. I digress, I believe it's high time for a new build. I made this build for a friend of mine (yes I know AMD is cheaper; however, dayz has really nice NVidia / intel support along with many other game titles) and I think it would work for you http://pcpartpicker.com/list/NBs7hq
  8. Funny cause it was well known that as soon as stable started, cars were bugged. And they can't really tell if the cars will be bugged until someone reports it. That's kinda how early access works. Also burlap sacks are anything but rare. Found like 20 throughout 3 neighboring towns in 1 server. If you're not prepared to experience and deal with the perils of early access development gameplay, then you might want to rethink exactly why you pressed "I Understand".

    I am evil

Dunno which server this was but on one of the public "gameservers" servers I found a big military tent in the little cove on the side of Pik Kozlova and stole some gear. I left an activated land mine at the door. If this is your base and you died from the mine, sorry not sorry :)

Character Bug/Stuck - Reset my char pls

Dev's cant just specifically reset your character. Try rolling in prone or vaulting next to the building's walls and see if you can glitch out of it. If nothing works (assuming you have a gun or knife of some sort since youre all the way up at tisy), pull a weapon out and press f11 and then click once the animation is done
  12. 1: Loot progression goes from coast to nw corner. Always check military locations 2: Persistence works. backpacks are 12 hours (I think) bases are like 8 days if left untouched but last as long as they are used. cars should be persistent however they have a little bug that's makes them disappear after a certain time 3: they upgraded many new cities including cherno and elektro. They have added flashy new buildings and gave the cities a great overgrown "I Am Legend city" look. Works well with the fog 4: Weapon recoil mimics that of the weapons from arma 3 which is a good thing (AKM used to have the recoil of an elephant gun). Zombies can now climb and vault over walls and small structures (i.e.: shacks and fences) The game is honestly more scary / horrifying now in a weird way. When you combine the overgrown look of cherno with the fog and a herd of zombies vaulting over shit while chasing you, it honestly can scare the shit out of you

    I am evil

Funny you should say this. Ever wonder why someone has a military tent on the coast stashed with gear? Take a guess... I consider bases like that owned by bandits who shoot at coast bambies all day. Therefore, I exterminated the problem at the source. Savvy?

    Revisiting old models

    Is DayZ a disappointment?

I'm not part of the group that says "Omg the devs abandoned the game." or the notorious "See you guys in the DayZ SA Beta in 2072!". But I do see where the devs have made mistakes. And I'm not whining as whining is complaining about a problem with no suggestions on how to fix it. I have talked about how I think they should go about talking with the community. Just in case: "I remember being able to hop on the forums a couple months ago and see some neat shit the devs were working on (not status report. Just normal shares and pics from devs' twitter) but now the dev tracker is dry as hell. It's a shame because I'd much rather daily twitter feed and leaks than a biweekly status report that is 50% filled with community shoutouts." And as far as giving release dates, I don't think they should give any dates at all. I'd rather see the devs over use the Soontm than see them give out date after date that is never right.
  17. An Alaska map would be interesting. Would be perfect for the extreme weather clothes they talked about adding as well as possibility for big predators (i.e: Kodiak Bear)

    Is DayZ a disappointment?

You're taking this way too literally. And the devs do actually give ballpark dates. Have you not kept up with them at all? And moving in is irrelevant. Fact of the matter is, the devs give out way too many ballpark dates that are 95% of the time never met.
  19. I did a quick search and I saw nothing recent as for someone asking this, nor have any devs mentioned it. My question is will older weapons see improved models and textures after .60's iteration? While even the mosin (in since day one) still has really nice textures, I am sure it's obvious that newer weapons (fal, g19, etc) have much more intricate models and textures. I'd really like to see the AKM get refreshed because while it looks well worn and cool, it definitely needs some works. A poly increase and sharper (more like actual stamped, blued steel) textures would really make this rifle pop. Any weapons you guys would like to see get refreshed?

    Is DayZ a disappointment?

Actually it's more like a company telling you that certain sections of the house will be finished by this time and 2 years later instead of all the rooms being in a livable state, they all have unfinished walls and holes in the roof.

    Is DayZ a disappointment?

I'm sure 95% of us agree but I'm sure every one of us would appreciate more seamless communication

    Is DayZ a disappointment?

Is the game disappointing? No. But I would say the communication the devs have with the game's community is rather.....shit. It's sad because they said they would work on that but it has been months and I feel the communication has gradually gotten worse. I remember being able to hop on the forums a couple months ago and see some neat shit the devs were working on (not status report. Just normal shares and pics from devs' twitter) but now the dev tracker is dry as hell. It's a shame because I'd much rather daily twitter feed and leaks than a biweekly status report that is 50% filled with community shoutouts. Just for reference: the last thing to get posted to the dev tracker was January 22... 86 days ago

    Status Reports?

What happened to status reports? I know when devs get quiet, there's usually a huge update. But I still would like to see some insight on what's being done at the moment.

If you watch the video and pay attention to what I just mentioned, you'll see the mechanics that I believe would fit nicely in dayz
