What will make full release any different? The same cons will apply to a "full" release of DayZ as it does to today. Private hives still have the core bugs and issues that public hive servers do. But to name a few benefits that you will never have in a "full" version of DayZ public hive: - No server hopping for gear (you can only impose so many mitigation's for this) - No server hopping from fights, or hopping on a alternative server to sneak up on someone on a primary server - You can let your player-community decide what they want out of their server (see http://theguidez.com/forums ) Rocket answered a question regarding shoring up doorways: What is the point of shoring up a doorway to a building if someone can just hop on another server? -

I keep refreshing the page, but nothing happens! (parody of throwing money at the screem, ;) ) My question might have been answered already (more of a statement: get rid of the public server scheme), so I am more itching for the consolidated page of answered questions.

If you want the weapons to auto-spawn, you would need to adjust the CFGBuildingLoot file in the DayZ code. Otherwise, you can manually adjust a player's inventory to have any weapon that ARMA 2 supports, you just have to know the model-name of the specific weapon and know how to manually update your database.

Server's been doing great! Just hit 85 players whitelisted, and we now have our own forums. Additionally, clans get their own private forum to coordinate events/camps/etc -

Oh, and I will usually get around to whitelisting people with 24 hours. If I am online at the time or working from home (I do have a day-job), I get back relatively quickly, but otherwise I typically get to whitelisting people around 9-11 PM Eastern Time (GMT -5) -

There are a couple of people who have that issue with battleeye, but I don't quite know why. Try maybe re-installing battleeye or maybe even arma 2 itself. Don't know if your ping could be an issue, but I and most other users do not experience the battleeye issue. As to the coast coast with no items issue, I think I heard that might be a DayZ issue with 1.7.2.5. I'll have to poke around. If it's an issue with the private hive itself, there is no much I can do. The same goes for camo/ghillie suits losing packs and what not: DayZ issue, nothing I can fix. We have around 60+ people currently whitelisted, which is a relatively small number when you really think about it, hence why there can be an average of 10 players but sometimes none. Dead periods are usually school/work time US with UK being around really late at night, to UK school/work time with US being really late night. People playing during dead periods are either at home from school/work or are up really really late. Grapist, it was talked about but no firm decisions yet. -

Hey VolkaV, we'll have our own forums up soon, just been busy whitelisting people and trying to get some sleep. As to the logging in thing, make sure to watch the video at the success screen ( http://theguidez.com/success ). If you don't use Dayz Commander, you have to make sure that you are running ARMA 2 Beta 96015, not a version below or above, has to be exactly 96015. DayZ version 1.7.2.5 as well. Let me know if you still have issues. Once we get the forums up, we will have a vote on the day/night cycle. Since it is a community run server, it will be up to voting by the entire community as to what goes/stays/changes. I agree with you though, I thought 24x7 day would be nice, but I am getting bored with it myself ;) -

Thanks Biosemtex! The server is pretty much all community run, both from an administration and funding view. People put to vote what they want and how they want it, and I implement it. The only administration I put in place on the server is for maintenance, hackers, and ridiculous requests (no, we will NOT have 10 hueys XD). We did pass a vote to replace all the Small Boats with PBX's though, ;) -

So far, maxing out slots is very low. We are averaging 10 players on at a time currently, with around 50+ signed up. No max ping is set, and there is one guy who plays fine with no issues at 280+ ping. -

Please do not imply that you have lost something when in fact nothing has been lost. As promised by the server rules, you have already been refunded your payment. In fact, as I have told your friend, I feel like crap for for having caused the misunderstanding. No-way I put it can alter that I was the root of the misunderstanding, but it was a misunderstanding in it's entirety, and thus I am at fault. In this particular case, if the 7 day refund period had expired, I would have refunded the amount anyways do to my cause of the issue. -

Thought you might post here. Your friend has also requested a refund, with which we will shortly be processing a refund. We have included the email below. It is unfortunate that you believe that the server would stoop down to the level of killing for kicks or for owning certain vehicles, but as anyone currently playing on the server, subscribed on YouTube, or watching me on Twitch TV, I have little to no care about gear or vehicles in DayZ and they will attest to my character. I play for the fun of it, and play as any other normal character would. -
You would be better off using DaRT. It's on the forums. Will solve all your problems.

The Squad.xml file system was setup in ARMA 2 to allow users to setup their own clans/groups so you will. One of the key features of the setup was that you could assign a logo/picture to your character through the process, and that logo would show up on your player-model's arm as well as some vehicles. It would be great if the DayZ model's were update to include a complete armband. That way, on servers that have clans and such, we could have highly visible colored arm bands that would help in easily identifying people from your clan. Of course, the system could be cheated, but that's real life for you, but it would be cool to have this nonetheless.

Just had our first livestream on the server with the whitelist application, and we didn't get hacked once despite not hiding the server info or password protecting! I'll be releasing the whitelist application early next week. -

Not too many people are using the Teamspeak at this time and since the whitelist has been implemented (and we are re-building the user base), we are currently having on average 8-10 players on. I am hoping for at least 20-30, but if we ever get to 50's we'll test out increasing the max count past 50. -

I thought technically the Private Server section was classified as "Unsupported by DayZ Development Team" in the first place? Technically that should already imply that there is no support of any kind for any one thing. Disregarding, does my redo of the topic suffice or do you want me to delete this altogher? -

I am not going to argue with them. If they don't like it, I won't have it in the post, so removed all the fundage info from the post. I've already PM'ed asking to get some rules up in a sticky, but pay-to-play DayZ servers are going to become a regular thing in the future. I've played many games that required pay-to-play, from minecraft to Left4Dead2, and what did I get from them? Awesome support, speed, and reliability.
