People play on my server world-wide with pings from 60 to 450, and have no lag issues. Definitely a server issue.

Gonna assume it's going to be a bit harder though, you know? Since DayZ is a Mod currently, it means the files are easily updated, including the server files, considering dayz_server.pbo.

You can always check out our server. It's pay to play, but that's just one of the reasons we have virtually no hackers. Had one the other week, and the community caught him and had him banned within 3 hours before he could do anything major. Plus, we have 15 minute DB backups on the server should anything happen. People have a 7 day refund window as well.

When did DayZ Mod actually get released the first time around? March 2012? And how long was it until rocket had helpers with the mod? June? Not talking Bohemia help or Standalone here.

Pretty sweet custom modding stuff! We're just jumping into it on our server, and doing the same thing you are already: Custom launcher/downloaded essentially. Keep up the good work!

Holy freaking cow 17 minutes?!? The number one thing you can do to increase your FPS is turn off your post-processing effects.

I still have plenty of people playing on my Private Server. It's admin'ed very regular, and virtually hacker free due to whitelisting and what not. Plus, Private Servers allow you to find a server that is managed the way YOU like it, not just how the developers want it. For example, we play an as-vanilla as possible DayZ server, with some changes. Notably, no hueys (replaced with two armored humvee's), and players are not allowed to make camps/park-vehicles outside of the map.

Even a change log or update to the tumblr blog would be highly appreciated at this point. People on my server are getting bored so I have to start developing my own stuff

Looks like it's back up now though, or at least temporarily. After a server restart, I no longer get the "Couldn't connect to BE master" error and admin chat is flowing in with no issues now.

It looks like something broke with the most recent Battleeye patch: Admin chat is not coming through, or comes through in spam/mass form. Same thing is happening to Battleye Extended Controls
