    GPS/Map Distances

What are the GPS/Map coordinate sizes? Are they one square kilometer per block? Less? More? Same with zoomed in map coords (123123 type), are they 100m squares?

[GUIDE] City Sized Maps - WIP

I just have seen a few separate tracks from different people working on their own little personal maps, and it seems that we could all have better/faster map implemented if people consolidated their efforts. I've been extensively using the wiki map, and it's been most beneficial so far: Super complicated/detailed maps are just harder to look at glance and take longer to load/navigate. The street would have been for my buddy who can't use the map for the life of himself. In-game literally.

    Interactive Chernogorsk Map

Here is the map for reference from Wiki: http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/Gmap/beta/gmap.html Arguable. What is your perception of "resolution"? How close you can get to it before losing detail? How close do you need to get? Yes you can. Yes they are. If you want GPS like coords, just add to wiki (it is a wiki after all). What, are you on Dial-up AND using Internet Explorer 6? Who freaking needs "pretty". And you can make it "pretty" if you like. The main argument I have here is not all those things you tried to mention, but the fact that everyone is making their personalized map, and their consolidated efforts could make one better map to rule us all.

    Best thing EVER.

I was also in Elektro at that time as well. As soon as I shot the zombies, some random player logged off and back on and made them all disappear. Then there were some good things on the body. All of a sudden, I took an arrow to the knee.

    Interactive Chernogorsk Map

I don't see why people keep making their own maps instead of tacking onto the wiki map through Google API's?

[GUIDE] City Sized Maps - WIP

Instead of spending time on this (it is good though), it would be way cooler for someone to make a street view of Chernarus Also, wouldn't it make more sense to add this all to the Wiki map?
  8. It did not. You have to manually download the beta from ARMA website, and then set your shortcuts appropriately.
  9. Quite honestly, I love the interaction Rocket has with us users. These "20 words or less topics" are great, but the pages just fill up so fast and by the time you read/reply, lo and behold there have been 20 more posts you have to read through. This is the same for a lot of other topics/feature requests/issues: Things are getting buried, and SOME way of keeping track and voting on requests is needed. I have created a Trello board for Feature Requests and Issues. It allows user's to sign up to Trello, then vote/comment on Features/Issues in the lists provided. https://trello.com/board/dayz-feature-issue-tracker/4fd90af92f53694218204e0b At this time, I have only just hand-picked a bunch of random proposed system changes, issues, and feature requests from random topics and thrown parts of their original post into the first comment if the item. By all means, if someone knows of a better site/issue tracker, please supply it. I've done a lot research, and so far have only found Trello to provide the ability to VOTE on a request/issue, which I feel is imperative for the developers to know which Features/Issues are important to the community. I'd rather there be a website that lets you vote and NOT have to sign-up to the website, but Trello is all I have found so far. Oh, and Trello only allows Members/Admins of the board to add features/issues manually to the board. Again, if someone could find a better website, would be great, else I will need to manually add features/issues to the board (and grant the developers access to the board of course).
  10. The problem with "informative discourse" is that it generally leads to flame wars.

    general gameplay improvement

What's this? Suggestions that sound like all the other suggestions we've seen before? Egads! Brilliant!

    Pending Update 1.7.1 Details

    Honestly... Having nerdgasms.
  13. Legacy, please sticky your most wondrous post. Finally got BETA working for Steam with it.
  14. Agree to Refried. There have been many suggestions to making the game more "game" like, and generally this is against Rocket's and the general consensus' view of realism. Anything that is automatic/reward based is simply thrown out. A more realistic approach, I think, would be to have safe havens/safe zones with NPC guards. People that have not been performing bad actions and being caught at them (IE; a reporting system, I saw so-and-so shooting so-and-so, don't let them into town, enough witnesses and it's shoot on site). Just another suggestion, but as you can see, not so much reward as keeping a benefit already in place. And having safe havens isn't against realism: Though society would breakdown, there still would be those who try to re-create it.
