Soup guys, thought I'd try my hand at some in-game DayZ story-lining. I've made it diary-like, and tried to keep it short, simple, and interesting. Excuse the sometimes droning/un-excited narrating: My kid was sleeping at the time, and I am just starting this out. If you guys like it, I am more than open to suggestions, and will make more. Otherwise, I'll let the video die with this thread. And excuse the slow start. I think it gets better as I go along, and anymore episodes would be more (hopefully) interesting. Actually, it seems pretty horrible, I should probably re-make this, lol

Hey guys, didn't realize I should be putting by video's HERE. Below is episode one of my series: Already working on number two (some people liked it I guess), but I would LOVE some suggestions on how YOU would make it better.

As Flootershai mentioned, regardless of whatever the supposed distance is, your crosshair HAS to be on the zed. The general swinging motion of the axe won't catch the zed.

Cherno is generally a really good place to find them. If you think you found a hospital, then you really didn't. The hospitals generally have to be broken into by shooting or clubbing down the glass in the front of the building. The glass has the universal medical symbol on the glass, and you can find the blood packs in cardboard boxes. Sometimes, there are empty cans where the boxes are: need to clear the cans before you can get to the box. Rarely, someone will have already looted the boxes. In that case, also try the medical tents just north of one of the hospitals. Always find blood there. Good source for morphine and pain killers, though Epi Pens I have not used once so I think are pointless unless you are part of a big raiding group.

I picked a map off a dead body, and when I checked it, somehow there were two circled X's with the words "deer stand" underneath them. How on earth do I perform this black magic to my maps?

Next update: Just like coughing and breathing loudly, if you eat X amount of canned beans, you randomly fart loudly. Best. Update. Ever. IMO.

We could go even further with this. Eat raw meat / too many beans / eat too much when not hungry, then get the craps randomly, just like when you pass out randomly when you have low blood. When you get the craps, your character sits down for like X seconds.

I think it still varies between servers, even when they label themselves that way, but I have found: Regular - Can do 3rd person, can set waypoints on map that appear on HUD, have a crosshair Veteran - Sometimes can do 3rd person, can set waypoints but don't appear on HUD, no cross hair Expert/Hardcore - No 3rd person, , can set waypoints but don't appear on HUD, no cross hair

Probably not as performance degrading as checking if your player is nearby 10x before spawning a zombie too close.

I haven't encountered one of these myself yet, but are they not possible vault over? I hear people complaining about Wirefences and crap like that all the time: I just "V" vault over the stuff.

Well, not really eternal death, but I was wondering: What would be your thoughts on making Death a little bit more, shall we say, longer? Simply said: You die. Now, you have to wait 8 hours before you can play the game again. Pros: * More conscious about staying ALIVE instead of running around hoarding 20+ zombies * Adds a sense of cause and effect to killing someone else. (see blurb lower down) * Let's you get on with your life Cons: * Killed by hackers = Sux * Killed by people leaving the game = Sux * Killed by just general dicks = Sux The con's can be many more, but one of the Pro's stands out in my opinion, and please take the time to read it. You go around killing people, and you don't care. Why? Mostly, because you know they will simply respawn and get on with their life. Most of us (I hope) don't kill someone in real life for many reasons, but one of the reasons is we know that the taking of a human life means ENDING that human life. It cracks me up to read "Oh hecks yeah if it was apocalypse I would kill everyone on sight", simply because those people have probably not ever been in a situation where they have to decide the life or death of a person, especially at the risk of their own life. Look at some US troops for example: They are trained to kill and to survive. Some(most?) that went and came from war are TRAUMATIZED. You hear stories of people waking up in the middle of night from the trauma, their whole lives changed. They were in extremely stressful and in some ways apocalyptic circumstances. Video Games will probably never get to that level, but in regards to DayZ, if it took longer to come back to life, you would take less risks, and perhaps banditry might go down. How/Why? Well, if you knew you couldn't play for 8 hours, would you risk shooting that other guy? Would you risk having your heartbeat beat faster to another player? Would you really take the life of another player if you knew you could be ruining their vacation day (troll's need not apply). Yes, there would be and always will be dicks. But I think it would be an interesting experiment anyways. Could be 8 hours, 4 hours, 30 mins, etc. Please discuss. And I mean DISCUSS. Not Q.Q and throw around "You sux" and "F you" and "I humpzors everyone's idea".
