    this is an off topic post really but here goes. -------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is one thing that has really bothered me .. the constant reference to Dayz being a co-op game. Players want to team up and shoot the zombies and collect gear and not have any PVP. yeah, great idea until you have played for a month and now you have all your tents, weapons and food. You sit at your camp and have to ask yourself, "What do I do now?" The answer can only be, go out and kill other players. There is nothing left in the game to do ... been there, done that .. is the feeling you have. As for "how the game is meant to be played" please refer to this image from the DAYZMOD.COM website. It plainly says step 2 in your survival is to kill zombies AND bandits. So the game is DESIGNED to include players who are bandits and WANTS you to confront those bandits and try to kill them. The game is obviously designed with KOS bandits in mind. Therefore, play the game the way its meant to be played .. its a COD with zombies. Your little group of friendly players (aka victims) vs the bandit groups. Does the fact that the players are actually challenging compared to dumb zombies make the game better or worse? Does the fear that you might get killed make the game more intense or less? The bandits improve the game because its the suspense of who is waiting to kill you in the next town that makes this the best game ever created. Get with the program and start shooting people who are not in your group before they shoot you.

    LOL we even had a BEC message come up every hour saying that exact same thing on our server. I finally relented and added auto-refuel though but in limited fashion. ONLY at the full gas stations with pumps and the awning. And helis can ONLY refuel at the airfields as I never saw a gas station sell Jet Fuel IRL. Self-bloodbagging, same .. finally relented but we only give a 30% gain. I think all these scripts have good ideas and many are popular, you just have to implement them in a more logical and controlled fashion.

    We have a private server and have removed all the debris .. such as the garbage and wrecks all over the place. A side effect is that the tents are also removed .. such as those in Stary. So if you, as a server admin, want those tents you have to add them back in. We have on our server as well as a medical tent and a barracks. So thats what you have seen. Servers with the debris (and therefore all the tent camps) removed.

    One of my players said he found it at a helicrash and same thing, it just disappeared. I gave it to myself in the database and it failed to spawn so I think its in the loot tables by accident. It must be a banned weapons which is why it gets deleted when touched. As for zombies: I agree, they were a mere nuisance before, now they bitch-slap players right to death. If its not addressed in the 1.8.1 it will need to be fixed. I am reasonably sure the fn_damagehander.sqf file in dayz_code would be the place to look for that fix. I think the focus on a multiplayer game should be the players, the zombies should just be a nuisance and not a deterrent to gameplay.

    Checked the loot table for you and yes, Pipebombs are still in the Loot table AND there is a weapon recipe to make your own pipebomb. With the direction we are going with traps, I hope we include the IED's in the next update .. hint hint. The amount of loot is ridiculous. It seems to be greater than was in 1.7.6.1 even. I know I NEVER found an NVG in 1.7.6.1 or 1.7.7 and yesterday I found TWO at the same crashsite. Why the complete reversal in loot spawns? 1.7.7 was too spartan so an increase was in order, but just a small increase.. I do think reduced loot is better for the game since it creates a need for the gear other players carry .. which is the stated purpose of the game and the bandit ethos. In 1.7.7 I stopped to examine every single dead body by the road just in case it had bandages or a bloodbag ... in other words, the loot had value, which gave a purpose to killing players. So I vote for something in between the total lack of loot in 1.7.7 and the over abundance in 1.8
