This was a big issue for me yesterday - was not fun running from town to town on the edge of starvation, even after eating multiple tins of food. Very glad it's fixed aswell as the other stuff. Also looking forward to effectively use the Camo Mosin without having to reload after every shot.

Is most gear supposed to get ruined even after a clean headshot?

agreed, dragging bodies is a must - it should be implemented with ragdoll. I do think that 'hiding bodies' should remain though, but it should require a shovel and be changed to 'bury'.

I agree, 30 seconds isn't enough for the simple fact that a lot of fire-fights in DayZ end up being fought from cover. I can sometimes sit for 20 minutes watching a window or a rock waiting for the enemy to make a mistake. -

If i'm not mistaken - the random noises are coming from the wildlife at the moment. when you hear those random zombie noises, it's actually coming from a near-by rabbit. It'll probably be fixed when they patch in the proper wildlife. -

Hey guys, I'm yet to find an SKS on the experimental servers so can't confirm any of this for myself, but I do know for sure the long range scope is compatible, and that a new bayonet has been added specifically for the SKS (not seen this in-game yet either). Does anyone else know of any confirmed weapon attachments for the SKS?

I like it, I actually think a proper, military grade ghilli should be added as a very rare spawn, but I would also like to see home-made, improvised versions. I like the string idea, rags are another option, or maybe a combination of the two. I would like to see the home-made ghilli crafted in several pieces EG you craft a rifle ghilli, a top-ghilli, bottom-ghilli, head ghili. Each piece would take a tremendous effort to make and be pretty fragile when under fire.

^This, all the damned time. Remember, the default improvised backpack is only 12 slots - to increase the size to 20 you need to add wooden sticks which are equally difficult to find right now.

I don't stream myself, but I do know that many of the bigger streamers use OBS and a lot of them run the game fine, very smooth. Some of the smaller streamers I notice considerable pixelation, lag and frame-drops - most likely just due to the rig. What are you specs?

I would like them to fix the angling issues when you have a weapon raised, at the moment it feels completely useless in combat situations.

The majority if this is all confirmed :) Complex hunting and gathering system, more home-made and improvised weapons and a more varied weather system. The building aspects of the game may make it in eventually, but they are waaaay in the future - they will be one of the last things to be added.

So in the latest patch, unannounced, the team dropped in the functionality for walkie-talkies (currently named 'transmitter'). link A 'transmitter' can both broadcast and receive signals on whichever frequency you choose, effective at up-to 1000 meters. I can't think off that many situations where this would actually be useful or effective, but it does seem to have one good use - trolling. Turn on your transmitter and drop it on the roof of the Elektro office/school building. Take cover in the surrounding 'sniper hill' with a Mosin and you can troll people in the center of town while keeping a safe-distance. Any other, more practical uses?

Just to clarify, if you have two 'transmitters', you can tune both into the same frequency, drop one on the floor - and then broadcast to it, from up-to 1000 meters away. Direct comms only works from a couple hundred meters, not sure exact distance. Anyone know? -

The sheer brutality of some DayZ players frightens me. Why exactly do you want to chop off other players limbs!?

I'm also quite disappointed regarding night-time servers. Now that we have privately-run servers where admins can manipulate the time on the servers, I think night-time is destined to run the same course as it did in the mod. It'll be almost non-existent.
