Carnt stop staring at that sun

I think the sun should be less visible on rainy weather - it would be awesome to play under dark/stormy weather conditions, specially if you could see it coming on the horizon (clouds close the sky, thunders, then the storm).

anyone else stuck on wait for host?

Same here. Got this weird lag, dc'd, and now I can't log in back (waiting for host or connection failed)

    Survival Hairstyles

Also, characters should grow beards the long they survive.

    Harvest Sticks

Damn right OP. A few days ago, a friend of mine got his legs broken. We didn't have any morphine and there were no hospitals nearby (we were in the middle of some forest). It was kind ridiculous when I said "OK, you just wait here while I go to the closest village to try and find some wood sticks". We were in a forest surrounded by a lot of trees... Edit: I think you don't even need an axe to break some sticks out of a tree...

Kiev Riots - DayZ SA Gear Inspiration

I'm really sorry this post was offensive to you or anybody here (involved in the uprising or not) and I do see – and respect – your point. Even so, these people are geared to endure a fight for their beliefs, they are in the streets because they want changes and they are willing to leave their homes and stand for them. We see art/content with the same kind of inspiration everywhere, everyday, in movies, other games, books, you name it. So, I don't think its a shame to draw inspiration from this kind of situation, but I completely agree we should be respectfull about it. Maybe if I used the word "reference", instead of "inspiration", it would sound more apropriate, but that wouldn't really change the whole point.

Kiev Riots - DayZ SA Gear Inspiration

Yep, things like worker helmets are a must. I've visited a fair share of construction sites and port/harbor areas IRL (there are plenty of them in Chernarus) and using this kind of protective gear is a nobrainer. Edit: Bad English!
  10. I'm not from Ukraine but I know there are riots happening over there. First of all, I would like to say that I hope things resolve there soon enough and that the uprisings bring good changes to its people. Neverthless, I came across this article on RT, which features a lot of pics of geared rioters, and I couldn't help but think these scenes fits DayZ tone somehow. (January 22, 2014 (Reuters / Gleb Garanich) What happens in DayZ SA is that there is a lot of military grade gear, so most of the people I come across looks like they were taken from an average modern shooter. Don't get me wrong: I enjoy military gear a lot and I think the team did an awesome job with the models so far. Even so, I would love to see the overall visual style of DayZ's itens matching this improvised, "military/civillian" mixed look. January 22, 2014 (Reuters / Gleb Garanich) These pictures even gives us some ideas for itens, like homemade riot shields, bike/motorcycle protective gear, molotovs, and so on. So here are the images, for inspiration's sake (all credits and rights goes to RT and the agencies/photographers who took them): AFP Photo / Sergei Supinsky January 22, 2014 (Reuters / Gleb Garanich) January 23, 2014 (Reuters / Vasily Fedosenko) RIA Novosti / Andrey Stenin January 22, 2014 (Reuters / Gleb Garanich) January 22, 2014 (Reuters / Valentyn Ogirenko) January 22, 2014 (Reuters / Gleb Garanich) January 20, 2014 (Reuters / Vasily Fedosenko)

    Do you ever server hop?

Rarely. I preffer to pick a good server and stick with it most of the time, tough there are a few things that sometimes make me hop: I usually server hop when... ...server loot is severely scarce and I'm short on time to play. ...I respawn, so I can enjoy my character's initial struggle (one of the best parts of the game, if you ask me). ...I make my way to some really far location and there is nothing there. In these cases sometimes I try another server, but I never hop twice. I never server hop to... ...farm tons of weapons, attachments, ammo and gear * ...get an advantage in a gunfight ** * People who do that, in my opinion, aren't playing DayZ properly. They are forcing a workaround to make it more like a CoD/BF experience (lots of weapons and ammo in the shortest time possible). ** People who do that, in my opinion, are pussies.
  12. OP, Stress is an interesting idea actually, but not as a "KoS counter-measure" What you guys have to understand about "KoS" is that DayZ takes place in a ruthless, lawless, dire post-apocalyptic setting where you can NEVER take your integrity for granted. You are responsible for your own safety out there. Also, you really should stop this "PvP", "PvE" mentality. They are seamless aspects of one single survival simulation, not some sort of MMO features which should be "balanced"...

    The KOS conundrum, problem/solution.

There is no solution since there is no problem. Please, stop trying to make DayZ a "safer" zombie apocalypse.
  14. I personally disagree with some sounds (though I'm no sound designer =P), but overall this is a great job you done there man! Really nice, makes us remember that there's a lot more coming to DayZ SA.

    DayZ 1.8 Feedback

Short feedback to 1.8 Great - 1/2/3 weapon swapping system is really great and seems to be working properly - Double-clicking to open backpacks makes item management way easier Could be better - New HUD icons don't look very well in the mod's context, I think the old ones were a good match to DayZ's reallistic tone - New Inventory skin could be a little less "noisy" (cleaner visual) Bugs - Zeds have collision models soon after they die, for a few seconds, in stairs (not sure if this happens everywhere) - Zeds in zombie camps drops out of mid-air and respawn, can't access tents as they vanish for no certain reason (noticed that after lighting its campfire) Keep up the good work!
