Just happened to me, looting the shipwreck in one of the cabins, bent down to pick up some boots and you are dead. Perhaps they were infected caterpillars!

I would imagine a more in depth char creation tool would be a good way, you would recognise your buddy but not at distance (for the irl brigade). The ability to form a collective in game would be nice so that people in your collective showed up on screen highlighted in some way (tag, all clothing has a patch/patches or the body changes colour you get the gist) would be good, would make for some great hero v bandit battles without the risk of blue on blue. Just a thought

I would say there is a 30-40% chance of that happening, although if you add in a factor of death-surival in a fire fight the enjoyment level will increase by 10% although you could subtract......oh hang on.

Connectivity needs addressing first I think, I lost connection with every server I was on yesterday. Twice when in military barracks, the wait for my char to appear was nerve racking as I thought I could be shot as a server hopper, or just KOS when they heard the ammo load noise as I logged in.

How can you tell if the weapon main body is damaged or not?

I like to follow the power lines and see where they take me. I seem to find a few power stations, or the same power station.

The best places are the "hidden" military camps, in the barracks and the main building with the cell.

Spent about 20 hours getting kitted up and helping noobs in distress only so lose everything when the server I was on crashed, I logged into another server only to find I am a fresh spawn. To top it all I spawned miles away from anywhere on the NE coast. Is this a glitch?

No, all of the interior doors were closed too, he must have logged in, in that room, heard me scurrying around and waited for me but, BOOM, I pwned that ass!

So I made my way to the military base near Stary, via Pusta and Vyshnoye. get to the base and all is quiet, all the doors are closed and there are two zombies on patrol, I take them out with my axe and head for the main building where I find an M4, double mags and a magnum. Go to the first barracks and start looting, new backpack, tactical vest, canteen etc... hit the last room open the door to find a bloke in a pay day mask looking at me, I jumped a freaking mile! He unleashed a volly of shots, all of which miss me, then starts shouting friendly! Sod that, I axed him in the noggin as I had forgot to set my gun hotkey to 1 and stole his gear. I guess I out bandited the loot farming whore! Me 1 waster 0 :P my new life as el bandito has begun.I should probably find someone to play with as backup from now on.

I had pretty much the same as your friend but I was collecting med packs and handing them out in Cherno and elektro. Also water bottles then I would point the Bambi in the right direction and move on. Had a great battle with 3 bandits holding up a couple of fresh spawns. Took them down and healed the noobs with charcoal tablets. My char has definitely gone to heaven! May turn bandit with this guy though just to try out the flip side.

You could always have direct chat enabled by default. That would stop all of the skype type programs. It would also make it realistic.
