What if people move north, get geared and get bored and decide to go camp the coast anyways?

Of course people can't find your body when you're offline! When you're offline your body don't show up anywhere.

Non-Lethal Options for Disabling Players
marcuz replied to ClassyPenguin's topic in General Discussion
@5P4RK4 It really depends what kind of role people want to play. A game like DayZ need some sort of player interaction and player created events like a hold-up to keep it interesting. What role the bandits want to play is totally up to them(Dickheads or slightly less dickheads(In the way I explained above... Drug them down on rotten fruit and don't steal any of their gear. Still a dick move. But it makes the game a bit more entertaining for both parts, most of the time ... ) ) -
Non-Lethal Options for Disabling Players

Me and my friends thought it would be funny to handcuff people and feed them all sorts of rotten fruit and make them drink disinfectant spray. Let's just say, if they survived they had one heck of a day trying to recover, I do realize this might be worse than a bullet to the face, but a bullet to the face is certainly not as fun! Well, for the kidnappers anyways. I'd honestly laugh if this happened to me! Just imagine getting tazed and when you wake up the first thing you realize is that you're blindfolded and handcuffed while four/five guys talk while force feeding you rotten fruit or other deadly-but-not-as-deadly-as-a-bullet foods. -
Not yet, probably not during the alpha period at all. More important stuff has to be added in to the game first, not to mention bugs that most definitely will appear during development. Vehicles will appear sometime. Rocket has talked about this somewhere. Not sure where, it might have been in a stream.

Yep. Seems like since almost everything now is ran on the server de-sync is also server based. Perhaps it'll all be better when the CPU multi-threading comes around.

You guys should keep in mind that hackers in the alpha are doing the dev team a favour by trying to break the game in the way they know best, hacking. It helps the developers improve on their game and find new open backdoors and other issues regarding the engine / server architecture they need to resolve for a more hacker-free experience. Ofcourse hackers are annoying and will not cease to be anything but annoying. We all can just wish that hackers would show the devs in private reports on the feedback tracker what they do to "break" the game instead of using it to ruin other peoples day.

Yes, me and my friends got this earlier as well whilst running from Kamyshovo to Elektro. We all got teleported back to Kamyshovo unable to move whilst getting hit by a zombie. Glad to see we aren't the only ones who have experienced this. Have you checked if this issue is on the feedback tracker?

If it's not (going to be) as processor intensive as ArmA 2 servers, I will.

I am pretty sure Rocket mentioned that you can't and will not be able to set up a dedicated server for DayZ SA during at least the alpha period I believe?
