Global and Side chat not available?

wut. When you see someone near you, and if you are not in the killing mood you hit the caps key and say. "Hey you, over there or in there are you friendly please respond or youre a goner." From there you can either kill the person or trust the person if he responds as friendly. Global chat isn't going to work any better than direct chat. It also creates more immersion as you don't see at the bottom of the screen "dude wtf I just killed a dude for beans, lolol derp le derp." You get the sense that you are alone and you don't know where anyone is. It makes the mod so much better.

    Let's throw around replayability ideas

The E3 awards, nominations, and buzz show PS2 doing a back flip. And landing on all toes... The game is looking great and is going to revolutionize the F2P model. Maybe Day Z could take some notes from it.
  3. If it goes standalone and I have to purchase it or it goes into kickstarter mode I think there should be a new map designed specifically for the game. A map that would have a great blend of everything and not just have 3 main areas of pvp. I like to see the loots system get a overhaul. I don't want to see the game getting super easy or super hard. I like to see some sort of a end game so people don't get bored. Pretty much everything I like to see is what rocket is going to add and create while the game is in alpha and beta.
  4. How about you stop assuming about other people over the internet, tough guy behind the keyboard.
  5. Well first off it is a mod not a game. And it is in Alpha. Which means not finished. Which really means you should not be enjoying the mod. Only testing it.

    Cities too Easy?

I think other features should be tested out before the testing of infected levels in cities. If rocket puts in a feature that makes the player interaction with infected tougher or easier then when all is said and done than levels of infected in cities could be adjusted accordingly.
  7. Awesome server. Runs great. Any groups or pairs of players looking for another I'm all in if you read this. Oh and for those lone wolfs out there talk before you kill someone you see. It could be me and I am all about being non-hostile.

    How much would you pay?

Games can be standalone and not be dumbed down. Most people would hear about it via the videos on YouTube(Like most have) and if they like it they would buy it. Minecraft as it was getting popular really had no objective and was not nearly finished yet people seen videos of it and liked its uniqueness. There will be no need to try to sell the game to the masses because most gamers with a PC go on Youtube daily. There are already what like 200,000 unique users. I am sure at least 60% would buy something around $20. Bump it up to 25 when in beta. 30 when ready. Similarly to Minecraft.
  9. Those 10% can not be constantly on the coast and like someone on Reddit said. This is Alpha. Stuff like this should be tested. This isn't final or even near it. If we were in the full version of the game maybe I be on the border, but we are in Alpha.
  10. Life time is only when playing. You not playing is not adding any minutes to the average. Only when you play do you add to the average. And if you are bored of the mod why are you on the forums. Go do something.

    DayZ fixes fuck ArmA 2

The funny thing is if ARMA 2 got updated for something else and it fucked up something on Dayz everyone here would be crying about it.
  12. Then stop playing it like CoD if that's not what you want? My last survivor lived for 12 days' date=' 60+ hours in-game. How is that "CoDish?" Yes, because rockets definitely into telling people what to do. You know, it's not like that's exactly the opposite of what he has said he plans on doing. I see you post this character of 60+ hours in every thread that tries to have a discussion about this topic. Sir. I point you the front page of the website. 30 some mins life expectancy. There will always be extremes and the majority rule. Hell, how long you live is not even what the OP is talking about. It is the way they act I believe is what he is trying to discuss.
  13. Who gives a fuck. That is how they like to play the game. Let them play it. It is the hosts internet connection. Not yours.

    Let's throw around replayability ideas

I never go into a mod expecting to be able to play for months on end. That is what full games are for. If this becomes a standalone title with the MC business model and I had to buy it, I would expect features that did not turn this into WoW or CoD. I would still want that immersion and not have to worry about people raiding Cherno for the new Raid armor loot drops... Hell I mainly got interested in this mod to hold me off to the Planetside 2 closed beta at the end of the month. So I don't mind what happens. It was a great time, I got lots of awesome stories, and this mod will never be forgotten.
  15. Yeah, that is the point. Even with a surrender system, life means nothing to anyone. The only difference between you before death and you after death is your gear, and the guy who killed you could get these with both actions. Which one do you think they would choose? My shot is the most quick and funny. I don't agree with the guy whose nick I don't remind that said my first post was half lies, even though I'll not call him a liar. First, talking about your so desired realistic level: What would make me preserve another person life in a real zombie apocalipse (if that is possible)? Well, just like is in the game, it's just a shot and everything he owns it's yours, but is one less human of few, and we know that nobody, in a real situation, would like to stay alone (saving for annoying/dangerous people). You want some reality? Make just one life forever. You die, you quit, you throw 30 bucks on the trash. Of course this will never be implemented and I don't like it neither, but I bet if everyone you kill never return again, the solo game would be veeeery boring, and life would really worth. Unless someone likes to play PvE and kill zeds, but then I would recommend RE or something.. Second: You cannot put your guns to the ground and have a fair talk in a functionable system nowadays. And yes, most of unknown players fire first and ask later. You probably thinks different because: you are surrounded by acquaintances, or lucky to meet very friendly people until now. And if there were no problems of shoot on sight with bandits before the change, why did they change? And now this is a general issue. The thing is: like someone said, it's hard to find ingame fellas to play with. I'm not criticizing murderers, neither the PvP (best thing), just the difficulty of forming ingame groups. Cause now I kill every guy I see, i don't know about his intentions, and so do he about mine. Would be nice to get a clue on it, and since nick reputation doesn't work (where should I search about? Which one of the hundreds of servers?), this is the only thing I see. EDIT: Read WalkerDown's post by now and it figures perfectly from what i meant with "too much reality in something that doesn't have the same weight and importance and consequences like in reality". I don't want 100% reality either. But, I guess you win. I just want the uniqueness and the immersion of the game to stay. That is what got me and many others hooked. Not every feature needs to be 100% connected to reality either. Dying forever is stupid, but sometimes realism in certain gameplay elements can add to the game. You are blind if you don't see that.
  16. I'm not a big group guy, so more items and content to get would be cool for me. This is still a mod so only expect new features and content. Don't expect a huge game redesign that gives a intriguing end game. Leave that to when DayZ goes standalone MC style or is apart of ARMA3.

    Six laucher... Useless

Downloaded the software. Found a good server. I hit update. I hit play. And there is my character in a bush. Pretty awesome actually.
  18. With the removal of OOC chats, the future removal of disconnecting when in a gun battle, and possibly the future removal of editing settings to turn night time into black and white time what will happen is people will become pussies. And hopefully it reduces gun battles. I hope for one day where groups stop praying on lone wolves to kill them. I would rather have you surround me, tell me to drop my gun and then give you all my shit. I am okay with losing my stuff. I don't QQ about it. I just wish I lose my stuff a little more realistically. When you have numbers why waste ammo and put yourselves in danger. Do it like you would in real life. Hope some features gets put in the standalone or ARMA 3 version that makes getting someone to surrender a better tactic than just killing.

    I'm tired of this!

Yes it is in Alpha. Which means this a perfect good time to judge and discuss features. Sure the OP was a little pissed, but at his core he just wanted to pound the point of the exploits and features he dislikes. This is something that happens at Alpha/Beta/Pre-Alpha Mainly Mod guy you have to understand this. I been apart of the Planetside community for 9 years. We did have not a game to play for 6 years. We know game feature discussion and how to handle it if you want to learn. And I see you whining in every thread that discusses something. Maybe you're the bitch?
