I won't be a dick like the last elitist, but my advice is to just play like you would if you had a pistol. Crawl and search buildings and you will find a weapon. It may take awhile, but you're telling me it took you less time if you a pistol in your hand? Be patient and you will eventually come across gear.

It being in Alpha does go for all of the problems Day Z has, except the hacker problem. That is something the hack-protection guys got get to. They eventually will.

It's a mod in Alpha. Give it some time and things like that will eventually come to it. There is melee the hatchet and crowbar. Not much else I can do for you. I agree with you if Day Z was a finish product, but sadly newly cooked games/mods can't be at your door in under 30 minutes.

The majority of the PC gaming community is what needs to fucking grow up. I fucking cringe every time I see people spouting the words casual and mainstream around. If I wanted to read underground music hipster blogs I would. You are not better than anyone else because you have a different taste in gaming. The mainstream isn't ruining your favorite IPs its advertising, profit margins, and corporate greed that is. And these "new players" need to learn how to give feedback. Insulting a developer in the midst of a rolling update is not the way to do it. It rustles my jimmies.

Ya it is really messed up. In buildings the most. Some areas of buildings will make you have a very low sound and eye meter, than you walk two feet and they go all the way up to 5 and every infected in town runs to you.

I know right? People here always forget how early the stage this mod is in and have a knee-jerk reaction every time a new update is out. Even if he calls it a "rolling update" people still tend to immediately criticize the mod and team when the a new update rolls out. Calm down everyone. Sit back and take a deep breath.

Dude same exact thing happened to me. I thought I started playing in my sleep and changed my gear. Glad I wasn't the only one.

I had one on me before I patched. It disappeared. Yet to find another. Maybe it takes the primary weapon slot?

The mod being in Alpha is a meta-game in itself. It being in the ARMA engine another... I think this community has the biggest knee-jerk reaction ever(And I come from the Planetside community, lol.) Many people do not have respect for others and I am not talking about in-game. I am talking about discussion. Some or most certainly don't have respect for rocket. And anyone who tries to explain that features need to be tested and bugs will happen automatically are ignored and told to ride rocket's dick more. It is possible to survive in the current version. I have died 3 times in it and I have found weapons and the gear to hunt animals and cook meat. The next hotfix is going to fix food and drinks. This is the perfect example of a Alpha situation that this community is ignorant of. Everyone was complaining over the lack of food. It was a bug or set wrong and guess what? It is being patched. If people would just sit back, relax, and wait. This community would be a benefit to the people behind the mod and in the future the game.

Run into a building. Zombies are not hivemind, if you only have one or two on you run out of town and shoot them. If you don't have a weapon than run into a building. Guns are everywhere now and ammo is very easy to find. Expect more updates like this in the future. We are still in the alpha stage and I am sure rocket has many more feature ideas he wants to try. Bugs will follow. For now I say you go into the official 1.7.1 thread and discuss with stronger grammar what you dislike and like about the update.

If Shadow would just go to the 1.7.1 discussion thread and speak his mind without insulting rocket I am sure rocket would have a greater reaction than reading the OP. Did anyone inform Shadow that this is Alpha and we are technically the ones testing this game? Just saying. Explain to me why that's a reason to not voice dissent about features we don't like in a game? Isn't the point of testing something to tell the person making the product the things we enjoy and the things we don't like? Shadow has stated the game being in Alpha does not mean shit and that the mod should be fun and a triple AAA experience before the final vision Rocket has in mind is completed. You can not judge a entire game/mod in Alpha. And Rocket should not be blamed for wanting to test a feature out. Sure there are some bugs with the latest update. Those will be flushed out. The features added can be discussed in the sticky thread where everyone else is.

Alpha is for the adding and changing of features. When all main features are completed and in they go into beta. Where bug testing and small changes can occur. Stress test and balance test are also done. Full release is when everything is complete, but by today's standards that means bad servers the first week, bugs, and DLC. Anyways... Usually Alphas are not made to the public for this very reason. Bugs happen, bad features are sometimes put in(Some of the stuff in the latest patch is up to discussion, but things like bad FPS and the zombies spawning ten feet away are bugs. Plain and simple.) Alpha is a vaild argument and you do not need to be "sucking on rocket's rocket" to know this. I have followed the development process of many games over the years and have participated in some Alphas and I kind of wish it would stop. This community is the perfect example of the gamer hivemind being ignorant of the development process of a game/mod. Speaking of mods, this is a mod by the way. It is not like you paid for this either. So the pure fact you are getting a free experience is great. Here is my advice. If you don't like these updates and bugs. I think you should just take a break. I am not saying you should, but it seems like you are looking for a full release experience, but sadly that is not possible as it is in Alpha. More updates will becoming and surely more bugs or features you may dislike. So get use to it for now or wait for release bud.

Large Population = Large # Zombies Small Populations = small #zombies I would though like to see packs of zombies that roam. More in the north as there would be smaller populations total in the north. Kind of like the Walking Dead.

You are not the only one. I suggest running away into another building and closing the door or run through a fence gate and close it. They will stop chasing you.

Don't update to 1.7.1. To many things wrong with it atm. Lots of FPS issues and the zombies spawns are all fudged up.

It isn't a game. It is a mod in alpha that needs more features to be added, changed, and tested. Rocket isn't forced to give you a "Fun" time. It is a free mod that is not even near the final product. I think don't "fun" should be something people are rating until it says "1.0.0 Full" in the top right corner of the game(Stand alone hopefully).

Holy fuck. THIS NOT A FUCKING GAME. It is a MOD. IN ALPHA. WHICH MEANS SHIT NEEDS TO GET FUCKING TESTED. Get the fuck over it and tell your group to get familiar with killing zombies. I know you probably are only good at killing people who have makarovs, but sorry bro its the fucking zombie apocalypse.

Like he said, he did not care about them because other mods or vanilla in the series have saves/checkpoints.
