I'm simply stating that I'd rather not play with a bunch of kids, as it total ruins the experience for most games (especially games like this). You're right in the essence that their viewers however it's annoying that this is how they provide their entertainment. With the extraordinary amount of money they earn you should expect them to put effort into it buy instead they create false representative videos. Everyone else works for it and they don't. That's the very reason I stopped watching them. I was stating that it was disappointing they are popular for being so unprofessional. It's the same thing with so called "casual" and "hardcore" games. Sometimes people just like to sit down and have fun. Some like the whole process of learning the game and being forced to discover new tactics. People watch the because they are funny and they have a different playstyle than all the other thousands of people like them on Youtube.

If anyone who is subbed to them has yet to discover this mod than they must be solely fed by the Yogscast. 2. Everyone who isn't you and your little group of "higher ups" are capable of playing Day Z from many different styles. This isn't the slave trade. You aren't any better for not playing CoD or L4D. I played both prior to playing Day Z I can safely assume myself and my group can kick your ass and whatever you throw at us right back to your circlejerk of "hardcore" gaming. 3. Shut the Fuck Up 4. The mod isn't going to be turned into anything else. It is going to stay Day Z. It is going to become what rocket and the team want it to be. Because a lot of their primary subscribers are younger players' date=' and I don't care what anyone likes to claim, younger players whine a hell of a lot more. When they end up buying the game with their pocket money, paper round money, daddies credit card and start getting killed left right and center, not spawning with a weapon and generally finding it hard, they will come running to the forums and whining. The more than whine, the more it looks like it's what the general player base wants (and may even turn to be the general player base) thus in turn, the game has a chance (depending on how much Rocket can take of the whiny dribbling from the kids) to consume itself and head off into the same direction as all other mainstream games, catering to the casuals. The majority who are find Day Z to be a copycat of MC and hate it anyways. It is rockets experiment and even without the Yogcast group all this community does is whine anyways. Oh and they are from Minecraft I think they would understand the Alpha and Beta phase. MC was essentially the game that made it possible for alpha and beta stage to be profitable. Oh and please stop using the terms catering, casual, and mainstream. Every time you do, you kill game developer. The entire world could look up and shout "change"and rocket will whisper "no."

I liked the way the moderator handled it. You weren't trashed for it by anyone, simply informed that's how things are with Yogscast and the thread closed to prevent said trashing. Was quite pleasantly surprised with how that turned out. Well when a stereotype is drilled in your head, once you actually have a chat or witness something yourself you usually find the stereotype a load of bs.

To those complaining about their admin help. Do you really think their subscribers would enjoy them being killed by the currently glitchly zombies that can break a bone faster than a ten story fall? No. They would have died 50 times in that time period if they started from scratch. That doesn't make for good content. It isn't like they played ARMA 2 before and they have said many times they suck at FPS games. Get over it.

That small percentage of their viewers only like Minecraft stuff. That is why they have so many dislikes on that video because MC hive thinks Day Z is a big copy cat of it. The rest of their viewers are fine. With some of the people I have seen complaining the past months here I welcome them.

You are not the rest of the community, many people, when shot in the back by some guy, over and over again, they will just start shooting on sight just like the others. And if the only way for me to find a legit group is by searching the forums, that's called metagaming, and it just makes it clear how the co-op experience is broken at the moment within the game. No it doesn't. I see groups all the time. I hear stories about people pairing up out of the blue. I see people complaining about people not teaming up dozens of times on these forums. HELL in this thread alone there are 15-20 who all say they try to make friends and not kill anyone on sight. All because you have to survive does not make this is a co-op experience anyway. Even when base construction is put in. People who distrust everyone will still play. Official groups that use teamspeak and form outside of game will still shoot anyone who gets in their way on sight. Me being in both those demographics at one point I don't blame them. I guess all I can say is keep trying, stay low, don't go towards a raiding group and find another unarmed survivor to team up.

Do you WANT me to systematically go through each of your points and illustrate why in most cases it's still pointless to open fire on everything that moves? I don't think you'd want to sit around arguing over every play tactic you use. The point of this thread is discover why people KoS. I am here to bring knowledge of why. That is all. So yes me explaining why we do each point I listed would be a benefit to this thread. Even if group stuff is put in groups will still fight and lonewolves will still walk the lands. Group pvp will be super common and lonewolves looking for easy loot will stalk people who are apart of big groups. PvP will never go away. It may change, but that's it.

In-game? Yes I do. I joined a group that was suppose to be friendly oriented. When we got about 12 guys together officially our mentality towards the mod changed completely. We got killed by DC'ers. Had our vehicles stolen by freshies. Rival groups started popping up and revenge was in the air. Our friendly group turned into kill everyone you see. That unarmed player over there? He might be the one who is in the DDS clan and killed Bob last night. Kill him.

Oh yes, CoD ruined everything...lol. Newsflash: It's not CoD's fault.

Every second I delay you from getting good gear and weapons on my home servers is good enough for me. Oh and you could have been that asshole who killed me before. That is why myself and the people I play with shoot everyone. Also if a group has a vehicle, unarmed players can steal a weapon from it or get in and drive away. We kill everyone in raids of cities not only because of the things above, but you can aggro zombies to us, steal our vehicles, steal our loot we are raiding for, or giveaway our position.

To the guy preaching Alpha. Yes it is Alpha and there will be issues and shit, but hackers should never be a regular part of a game at any stage and hackers in Alpha stage is not normal. Most games aren't even playable by the public in alpha...

Most of these issues are not directly related with Day Z. Day Z is a mod for ARMA 2(I try to say this in everyone of my post until people get in their heads). Most issues come from the engine.

People can suggest all they want as long as they don't insult the team behind the mod because their ideas aren't being put in the game at this very second. Some also need to learn that a lot of issues are from ARMA 2 itself. And do you really need to called people carebears? Grow up.

If you want to make suggestions go to the suggestion forum. The reason I say it is in Alpha all the time is because people complain and whine about features not in the mod and act like it should be immediately. They aren't in yet because it is in the damn alpha stage and people shouldn't be whining about it. You should be posting on the suggestion forums of things you like to see in a mature manner of course. ANd I don't feel like quoting 3 people in this thread, but lots of the stuff you guys "suggested" here to be fixed were things that are problems of ARMA 2. People tend to forget that Day Z is a mod for ARMA 2 and that many issues it has is directly related to ARMA 2. Not Day Z.
