"My homo bromo MR DELIGHTFUL has this though, he lectures us constantly on the merits of trackir. The only problem is that when his girlfriend tries to talk to him he looks like he has a spinal injury." Hahaha! Yeah I tend to use tracking while in the wilderness. Have a shortcut to pause it when in town.
..and have a good deal of patience. People coming from an arma background probably know all about Trackir. Those new to arma probably do not. As you know the arma engine allows the avatars head to move independently from its body, meaning you can look in a different direction to which you are moving. Head tracking basically means that you move your head (irl) and your avatars head corresponds ingame. Trackir is a system which uses IR to do this, but there is a cheaper alternative (which doesnt work as well but is free) All you need is a webcam and some time to tweak things. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm Examples:
If you've got some time and a webcam give it a go. (Id suggest installing the beta version which is 1.6)
