Unlock new skins by staying alive longer

Finding clothes should be kept the way it is. You should have to scavenge for clothing just like any other item. I do believe that clothing should degrade over time and it should affect your temperature. I dont see anything wrong with bumping up the clothing spawn rates and adding more variety as well. But, as for "leveling" your appearance and being able to choose your skin, no.

    Early warning alarm system

bumpity bump bumpity bump, my life for you! +1 this shit.
  3. Rocket is reducing the probability of breaking legs. Why not include the possibility of dislocating shoulders that would force your character to use only his sidearm until the shoulder is put back in place? Once the shoulder is popped back in, your survivor would shake until painkillers are taken. You could even include the possibility of the hit forcing your character to drop his primary weapon. To put it back in place, you could require the player to stand near a tree in similar fashion to cutting wood. There would be a context option to put the shoulder back in place. Doing so would have a randomly generated chance of knocking your character out for 10 seconds or so. This would force you to "fight through the pain" until it is safe to bang it back in place. Like many others, I have been driven crazy by brittle leg bone syndrome and am glad it is being nerfed. However, I think that adding a debilitating injury that is fairly easily curable and that doesnt slow movement speed would be very interesting.

Solution for server hoping to gain position.

Not sure what you are talking about. You would not need to be actually hit. All that would need to occur is for a bullet to pass within a certain radius of your character. Forcing someone to wait to reconnect to the server they were just on for long periods of time seems to be a bit overkill to me. I mean, it takes a good portion of time to connect to a server in general. I would say perhaps a minute or so. So, if you get shot, disconnect and have your players body sit on the server you just left, that would give the shooter time to either shoot you again or for you to bleed out.

Solution for server hoping to gain position.

Wouldnt the simplest thing be to put a check on a player that starts a cooldown once they have been shot at or hit? If they disconnect within two minutes of this occuring, their player body sits down and stays on the server bleeding or just sitting there for 45 seconds? Sure this could affect innocents sometimes but how often does someone get shot at and then get disconnected? It is a simple fix that would force people to "take it like a man".

    Non-enterable Houses

Dont see anything wrong with this. It would encourage exploration and interaction with Zeds as well.

The melee weapon thread (ideas, loot suggestions etc.)

I would say that adding the ability to pull a branch off a tree and combining it with a hunting knife would be a good way to take zombies out and also give you a bit more reach than they have. Include rope or duct tape as a requirement to put it together. These types of spears do work.

    M9 SD mags

I would +1 this if firing standard pressure rounds would A) be louder through the silenced weapon and B) cause permanent damage to the silencer. I doubt that B is possible but we shall see?

    Paranoia after murders?

The game does not need to simulate paranoia. Just the act of firing a gun and then crouching over someones body to loot them creates tons of paranoia. This unfortunately falls into the category of punishing players for playing in a sandbox the way they want to. For me, the ambient noises in the game already make me hear phantom gunshots, and footsteps.

    Crawling into buildings

I have certainly been bitten in the ass by randomly standing up from a crawl when entering or leaving a building. I would love to see this fixed it is probably an engine problem.
  11. These are not zombies, they are infected people. They are sick and most likely in deteriorating health. People complain that they are too fast, that they keep aggro for too long. I propose that the infected should have a chance of having "heart attacks" as a way to de-aggro. This would help with the one or two infected that you can never seem to shake no matter how far you run. I believe Rocket has stated that he wants to have the infected in different states of health, this would play into that and also provide another way for defenseless players to lose aggro.

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

I propose a new context option to bury a body. This would take more time than hiding a body and would regenerate a certain amount of humanity. This would be regardless of whether you killed the person or not. It should take considerably longer than actually hiding a dead player and so it would leave you exposed for a longer period of time. Hiding a dead person is something you do to avoid being caught, burying someone is usually a sign of "respect". This should not work on dead infected.

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

Agreed, I am not religious in any way and I can still see the humanistic side to burying a human body. Burning and burying bodies to reduce infection spread is a good idea' date=' not entirely sure if it really fits with the game though. Maybe that could be added if you can catch an infection from hanging around dead bodies. Burying a body in a human/religous fashion is more moral than letting a corpse just rot on the ground or simply hiding it from sight. [/quote']

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

It also works for the dude that had to kill someone in self defense and lost humanity for it.

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

Lets say you murder someone and then lose 500 points of humanity. Then you run to their body, loot them and then spend 45 additional seconds burying them. You get back 150-200 points of humanity and also spend a couple of minutes hanging out right where you fired a shot. Not only are you getting less humanity back than you are spending but you are risking getting sniped. Or in other words its a way for bandits to farm humanity. Its possible but I think it would only really be possible in big groups and I think it would be more like managing it. Remember' date=' you would get less humanity back than you spent.

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

Agreed. Also, making the action take a fairly long time also makes you weigh the risk versus the reward.

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

How is it nerfing the mechanic? Humanity is not black and white, it is gray. Also, I cannot imagine how this could piss off a bandit. Burying someone would be optional. Hiding bodies would still be an option. Can you elaborate on why this would piss off a bandit?

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

I appreciate that, I am not the biggest fan of the humanity system but if its here to stay, adding nuance to it would be pretty immersive.
  19. Weapons should jam in this game. I do not think we should have to maintain the weapons, that would add alot of extra work to the game, but a weapon should jam or a bullet should fail to fire every once in a while. This would universally increase the tension for players. It would make you ask yourself if you should take a shot and alert someone to your presence since you might end up not getting a shot off. There should also be a tap rack bang animation which essentially puts another round in the chamber that would take a second or two. Also, stealing an idea from Metro 2033 and Stalker is having different grades of ammo. There should be shitty ammo that is underpowered, more likely not to fire and that would make your weapon less accurate. This would put a premium on high quality, accurate ammo.

I would like to be able to spawn with friends.

Do you at least see the point of people who dont agree with this feature are trying to make? Im sure everyone of us who disagrees with the ability to spawn with friends has wanted to put their first through a wall because of dying and having to find their friends.

A new 'status' to encourage cooperation

Im not sure any of my statements negate what I am saying in any specific post. People post about PVP. You think that adding a mechanic that encourages human interaction isn’t directed at limiting PVP? Come on, it doesn’t need to say PVP in the title for you to see the undercurrent of what is being suggested. All mechanics artificially push the player to do something or another. This is a game so you need something artificial to tell you what you need to do. I don’t have a red flashing food icon that blinks when I need to eat. I cant imagine that there is anyone who would say that grouping up isn’t a buff. Being in a group should have some negatives and so should playing alone. People already group up in this game but it generally happens between people that are already friends and who use some sort of 3rd party voip. Unless I am mistaken most of what is being discussed here is encouraging random players to meet and work together. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t consequences to walking around as a group.

Character Location tied to individual servers

    1) Sorry dude, but if I have been traveling around the map for 5 hours and am way up north, I should not be respawned at the coast simply because my server is full. Once again, this is punishing a player because an unknown percentage of the population takes advantage of the system. 2) Of course these are exploits that an MMO does not have. We are not locked to one server and because of the fact that servers can only handle small numbers of players at a time, locking people to one server is a bad idea. 3) I play on a few servers as much as possible. If I had a vehicle and was unable to log onto my server, I don’t think I should also loose my position when picking a different place to play. Vehicles being able to move between servers would probably break the back end and create immense balance issues so I agree they should not transfer from server to server. As for tents, I believe they should follow you from server to server. 4) You don’t need to be a camper to shoot a guy with a Makarov as you are heading back north. You are simply putting players with good loot close to players that just spawned. That will not end well. Also, I would be furious if I was forced to spawn along the coast and was immediately killed because the server punishes me for logging onto a server when my preferred server is full. Wouldn’t this just make campers stay closer to the coast more often? Killing and looting well equipped players… If i understand correctly, current 'logging in' system prevents the item/zed spawn from appearing in the vicinity of your location. Meaning if you have logged out in a building with loot, when you spawn in, there will be no loot for that whole building. Lets take it appart piece by piece. I wouldn't view this as a punishment' date=' but as a safeguard. You take it with a grain of salt. If we were to draw a conclusion based on your logic of most are not server hoppers - then most of us would not be affected by this change, as we do not server hop for specific locations Of course they're not, but you are dealing with exploiting that regular MMO would not have, thus the comparison is invalid. You cannot change the servers on MMO's. And if you do 'transfer' the character, you have to transfer in the 'safe zone' anyways. With recent re-introduction of vehicles a lot of players have 'settled down'. Your tents and vehicles dont follow you across servers' date=' so most people already have that one server that is good ping for them, and seem to generally prefer to wait for their server. If anything, i believe OP's idea about the Cherno/Electro campers life being ruined before the 'freshly spawned players'. How comfortable is that camper going to be, if he will know there is a chance that his shot will be heard by the 'high level equipment' wearing people who are in vicinity? With suggestion from Rocket about possible 'spawn without a weapon' you wont be able to engage in PvP right off the bat anyways. As for immunity' date=' also not the best of the concept. If anything was to be done, i would like to see a solution in direction of - a player without a weapon has smaller hitbox. Making it harder to kill that player. Did you see the upcoming patch notes? Includes 5 second timer for logging out ;) Oh it's coming, hehe

    many players are quitting

I dont know about losing guns but I lose my bullets in berms all the time! Yeah the guns in my closet break themselves or run off and get lost all the time. Geeeezzz' date=' where do you people get these silly ideas??????? [/quote']

A new 'status' to encourage cooperation

Lets face it, grouping up in itself is a buff. If anything there should be consequences for being in a cluster like being more visible to Infected. I still like the idea of acclimating to being alone but I dont think it should be some kind of constantly managed by pills mental disorder. Force a lonewolf to go through a period of mental change where they start off feeling more paranoid and panicky then gradually harden their mind to it. I dont think I would go batshit crazy from being alone but I do know that I would need to acclimate to the change.
