I am the CQF server admin for US196. I can attest to Dayz Dan dying to hackers just like the rest of us and have the logs to prove it. Without people like him, DayZ would get boring. -Hindsight -

I am the only admin for US196. If someone is hacking, record it. What you are stating has nothing to do with an admin, it is purely a hack. -

Dude, I can guarantee that you have never been kicked from US196. I am sure you read through our forums and if you do, you know I have defended you as being legit. 909 is not one of our servers. -Hindsight -

Dude, if you have evidence of that, post it on the FirstCav forums and that guy will be gone. That breaks every rule we have in terms of engaging other players. -
US750 Kicking Players without cause
A Man Named GOB replied to dark6-6's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I can understand feeling like your server is getting overrun by another group of players but honestly man, the way you handled this was pretty much the wrong way at every juncture. Most of our players are content to play on our own servers but sometimes, updates or network issues cause them to go down. Are you suggesting that we should just not play because we might make another server owner butthurt? Instead of just dealing with the situation, you got caught blatantly breaking the rules and as a result might lose your server. Way to handle a less than desirable situation. - Hindsight -

You have a valid point to a degree with the "end game". There used to be a post that included all of the things rocket had said about the game that was lost when the forums were hacked. One of his posts was pertaining to games holding your hand and telling you what to do. He does not want to do that so I doubt there will be some kind of end game. He had posted ideas on creating factions and player controlled areas though and I think that would add some more depth to the game. If you feel the game gets boring when you get a tent and some weapons though, maybe this just isnt your cup of tea. -

Arma2 has a bad ass engine. Its buggy and flawed but its still bad ass. I cannot think of another game engine out right now that could do this. DayZ simply would not exist if this engine was not available. -

This game is incredible and I continue playing it despite the bugs because it is such an engrossing experience. I have NEVER played a game that made my heart rate go through the roof when I encounter other players until now. Dayz is not some "Holy Grail". It is a fucking great idea that has been very successfully implemented into probably the only game engine that could do it justice. It obviously can be made today in 2012 because fuck, its available right now. -
is there even a point in going to nw airfield?
A Man Named GOB replied to t3hnoob's topic in New Player Discussion
My experience with the NWAF is that so many people are terrified of going there, they avoid it like the plague. As a result it is usually empty. If you go to either barracks I will borrow a quote from Radiohead "Your alarm bells, they should be ringing". Go in, get something, get the fuck out. -

I would say just get rid of matches and add a flint and steel which would be unlimited but more realistic. -

Nothing was removed, these are all bugs that are affecting certain items. I had an L85 and knew before I patched that 1.7.2 broke it. I logged in anyway. Its an alpha and sometimes its refreshing to start over; have a bit more fear of death... Also, using a high end weapon is completely ineffectual if you are stupid with it AND alot of times, when someone does get a high powered weapon, an inevitable sense of false security crops up and they get lazy. Then then die.
