Setting shadows to High or Very High keeps them processed by your GPU. Setting them to normal or below puts their burden on your CPU. I know when I switched mine from Normal to High, I saw a performance increase.

Apparently disabling Hyperthreading will increase performance in ARMA 2, lower power usage, and lower temps. This is the first thing I'm doing when I get home...not sure why I've had hyperthreading running for the past couple years.

The hatchet now takes up the secondary weapon slot, but I don't think an icon shows up for it. I dropped my pistol and was able to pick up a hatchet, but then wasn't sure if I could cut wood with it, so I dropped it again and took my pistol. Can we still chop wood?

I think to pick up a hatchet, you need to drop your secondary weapon...but can you still use a hatchet to cut wood?

That's not a problem...consider yourself lucky...many people have lost everything due to bugs.

Yeah...not sure what to say about this one. Maybe one of your graphics cards is damaged? Try removing (or disabling) one, then the other and see if you have any luck.

Did you install the latest Beta patch (93825)? Apparently it's causing this.

Beyond that, maybe it's a driver issue and rolling back to a previous version could potentially help, but that's just a shot in the dark.

My best advice is to google "ARMA 2 performance tips". I got some tips for modifying your .cfg file and stuff...your mileage may vary.

Have you turned Post-processing off, disabled shadows, and turned off Anti Aliasing and AF?

When running in crossfire mode, did you try adding "-winxp" to your command line for running Combined Ops? I've heard that this is the best way to make sure that ARMA 2/Dayz takes advantage of dual GPUs. When running in Crossfire mode, did you try disabling Vsync?

Yeah, you might be able to chug along with 10-15 FPS, but I'm not sure it'd be worth it. My condolensces.
