i don't really feel i need to explain why op's "suggestion" is so shit. so i'm not going to. fuck you op, one of the shittest ideas ever to be written on this forum. please come back when you have some perspective.

they fix alot of issues, but they also ruin more than they fix. Private hive owners in the mod completely fucked it up, steps need to be taken to prevent that happening before the game is even finished. I'm not against pvp servers with loadouts, extra loot and 1000+ vehicles, but you know what? fuck that, i am, because that sounds completely shit, and it sounds like exactly what we'll end up with when private hives are given free reign. Not that there's anything wrong with private hives, but the mod pretty much jaded them in my eyes, private server owners either want to play the game their way or are just desperate for a popular server, and fuck everything up in the process. private hives - say no.

as much as i liked the music from the mod, and would recognize somebody's work in making music for SA, we really don't need it. Most players turn it off because it's distracting. I know i will if any is made.

no, if you choose to go to areas that are known to be high traffic, high risk areas, with a good chance of snipers, then that's your own fault. Don't ask for ways to limit snipers when at least 50% of the blame is yours. a better zeroing system could be implemented to make sniping more difficult, but that's not the problem here. the best way to not die to a sniper is to stop going to cherno and electro and balota - snipers wait there almost 24-7. another way is to move like one is shooting at you all the time, but even that won't help you indefinitely. or you could find out where the snipers usually wait in these cities and try hunting them down. tl;dr - solve your own problem. it's not a bug, and snipers are a known risk, but they only shoot at you when you give them the opportunity. Freshspawns die when they do what snipers think they're going to do, which is go to a city and run around like dickheads. stop being so predictable, and you'll stop dying so predictably.

Being Able To Carry 2 Rifle Sized Guns Would Be Nice
Capo replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
a rare strap or gunbag sounds alright, extra weight would need to be considered. As long as the fact that having a gun in your backpack would be cumbersome to get out is taken into account, we don't need no quickswitching. at the moment though i'm happy you can only carry one, it forces you to play to whatever weapon you choose to carry. I use the mosin, with the fnx if i have to go into a town, i don't see how that doesn't cover both roles, even if i am at a disadvantage up close, it means that i have to scout out a location properly, and that i shouldn't be attempting any forced entry of a building. but that's just the disadvantage of the weapon i'm using, jack of all trades would be a bit much at the moment. maybe some guns could be used as a second primary, i'm thinking some of the smaller smgs and maybe sawn off shotguns, i like having to choose what combat role i'm going to be most effective in. -
that was a confusing post to read. obligatory alpha statement, the mechanic you don't like isn't finished yet. i like the idea of all items degrading this is why. along with: wear and tear takes a bigger toll when you're actually putting your clothes under stress. i'm looking forward to the necessary tweaking and proper implementation of the item system, at the moment ruined items are still usable, which is not good. However when it is finished it should make the game last a lot longer for everyone who isn't playing Deathmatch down south.

i'm making an argument properly, because i don't want anyone to take your suggestion seriously, because it is an ignorant suggestion, that's all. It is a game, one that i want to turn out good.

nice shot. it's a shame only dickheads camp balota.

sounds like what he's saying. i dunno, we'll probably get more varieties of long range scope with different recticles, some with mildots, pso scope etc, but hopefully they're much rarer than the stock standard hunting scope. i think fitting a recticle into a scope would require some skills, that the average joe doesn't have. final point - finding the range of a target isn't very hard at the moment, you can use eye ranging, estimate how many mildots tall a target is, or use your map + pythagoras' theorem. It's not hard and i've gotten very accurate rangings from the map+formula, and been able to set up multiple killzones from my sniper's nests. i think my fov isn't set right because i'm sure as hell that the zombies 300 meters away look at least double that by my estimations.

OP is troll. anyone with any knowledge about the SA would know that .50 cal sniper rifles aren't getting added. not only that, the mosin with a scope was "the" russian sniper rifle during ww2, (although the svt-40 was also nice), and it works fine with lrs over 800 meters, usually a 1 hit ko, although a bit inaccurate at this early gamestate. it works fine, it gets the job done, what's wrong with it? Why is a .50 cal or military sniper going to make any difference? we should have more possible sniper rifles for sure, but i don't think that for the games purposes an extremely expensive and rare anti-material rifle is necessary at all. Someone mentioned, modern russian sniper rifles - fair enough, a reasonable request and probably stuff like that is in the queue threads been derailed to another KoS argument, which is dumb, because bad or not, sniping and KoS are here to stay. you'd rather see one with a plastic stock? or metal? what difference does it make? go play an fast paced shooter set in the modern era then, i can guarantee you that you'll find plenty in one of the many generic shooters that so many people seem so keen to turn Dayz into. grow the fuck up. tl;dr - OP is asking dumb things because he wants answers that aren't forthcoming.

an svt-40 would be lovely,

the issue with suicide new spawns, and how to stop it
Capo replied to Hi Im Brad's topic in General Discussion
i think alot of people would kill themselves if civilization collapsed. Not only that why shouldn't freshspawns try to kill geared players? it will save them time, and the geared players mostly serve to fuck with them anyway? if you don't want freshspawns trying to kill you, don't play with freshspawns. better idea right there. we want the game world to be realistic, and we want people to value their characters, but it takes time to develop and value your character, and playing on the coast for 30 minute lives deathmatching means too many people don't value their characters. So basically it's an alpha, alot of people are waiting for cars and hunting to be introduced before they spend any time on their characters, and most people just want to kill other players because, "why not? i've only spent 30 minutes running around" , or "they'll probably kill me". So all you can do is wait, for the majority of players to either become motivated to value their characters, or get bored and play other games, leaving a hard core group of "survivors", who probably won't be any different, but MIGHT be rational if you both get surprised in a chance meeting in a town. -
the issue with suicide new spawns, and how to stop it
Capo replied to Hi Im Brad's topic in General Discussion
tl:dr Put the old spawns back, make it a pain to die as a freshspawn, even though freshspawns die all the time, for every reason. how geared are you? what are you doing around so many freshies that it's an issue? Look, just no, it tries too hard to define how to play. if you don't like what happens in that area, get away from that area. The fact is that too many players are dicking around in the sandpit, and then complaining when some gets in their eye. it's not a bad idea, it just takes away some of the threat of playing on the coast, and that threat is meant to be encouraging you to go north, and i'm pretty sick of people coming on the forums and suggesting ways to make it easier to stay on the coast, rather than just fucken doing what we're all waiting for and spreading out, so players have a chance to develop their character, and then start giving a fuck. or then maybe the devs are just balancing weapons and making sure server stability is good, who knows, but i can honestly say that a large amount of people's woes regarding KoS would be solved if everyone would just go inland. -
I think we should have a drug/addiction system.
Capo replied to The Shane Walsh of DayZ's topic in Suggestions
i more meant you'd probably get paranoid, when you'd just witnessed a large amount of the population turn into zombies and eating most of everyone else, and then your life since then has been zombies jumping out at you every time they see you, and bandits trying to shoot you for no reason. So random shit you'd be hearing in everyday life would be freaky as hell - hence the bug analogy. i mean, do you want a game about getting high? or a game about getting high in the apocalypse? -
KoS is not part of the game, it IS the game.
Capo replied to CaptMorgan117's topic in General Discussion
what mod are you playing? as far as i know i've had about 3 player interactions in the mod that didn't involve everyone shooting at each other immediately, and all but one of those ended with a sniper taking at least one of us out. i'd like to point out that most people are wary of strangers, as they've been shot at, ambushed and lied to, multiple times already, so what would you do? If you play the game by saying "hi" to everyone, regardless of how many times you die, then that's your problem, not everyone is going to feel that way. KoS isn't going anywhere, but there isn't much to do right now, so it's more prevalent than before. And it's also connected with the many new guys not getting the fuck off the coast, and this massive swarm of inexperienced, vulnerable and tender targets are too much temptation for someone whose geared and bored. you can find a group of friendly players on the forum most likely, that's where you're going to get the best teamwork, info and resource pooling. strangers you meet in game will never trust you, and most likely conspire to kill you, if you do manage to get a "friendly" response, just assure them that you're leaving, and then leave, quickly, while keeping an eye on them. edit - don't worry about your schedule unless you have a hardcore group who has set times they play, my group is very casual and we just play with whoever's on. -
I think we should have a drug/addiction system.
Capo replied to The Shane Walsh of DayZ's topic in Suggestions
they should add in bath salts, and then it's like going "zombie undercover" for a couple of hours -

Capo replied to The Shane Walsh of DayZ's topic in Suggestions
i like the idea, because i know i'd certainly be trying to figure out where to get weed when the zombies are coming. that besides, drugs would be the worst shit to be using in a zombie apocalypse, you'd be so paranoid lol. weed would be so bad lol. so you know the bug where random sounds keep playing when you're in the middle of nowhere? on weed, that wouldn't be a bug, that's an effect. (although of course it would be more subtle) heroin? really? makes you better at dodging zombies? i'm not sure what your experience is with heroin, but i know one or two ex junkies, and you know when you're so tired you keep drifting off to sleep and then waking up again? welcome to heroin. obviously that's not an accurate analogy but all i can say is you aren't gonna be tiptoeing around zombies so much as waking up in the same spot you were in 12 hours ago, probably missing a face because you were too messed up to realize you were being eaten. also, buddy, you forgot about hallucinogens, fear and loathing in electrozavodsk anyone? -
Too far from everything? What do you mean by that? you have polana, gorka, dubrovka, krasnostav and NE airfield, all within a 3 hour run including a generous loot time. I hope the devs wait, this "I'm going to wait until vehicles are added into the game before exploring" attitude is dumb, and it needs to go. Not only because once vehicles are added into the game, it's not like they're going to be easy to find, repair, keep or even like they're going to be on the coast, it's because it's just a lazy excuse to continue playing balotafield 4. Even when they are added, it's not going to be like on a private server with "spawn your own bike" or just "bikes are everywhere" there'd be like 4, on the whole server. You're gonna end up still having to run everywhere. Stop moaning about not getting spoonfed, get jogging. They moved the spawns for a reason, go find out what that is.
-
so the problem is right here, you're still on the coast. here's what you should do, go inland. the towns and houses on the way to polana from solnichney usually have some gear lying around, you won't need a map because it's just the road going out the back from solnichney and stay on it, don't deviate from that main road (obviously if you see a house, take a quick geeze), you will find something. although if you're determined to stay on the coast check out berenzino, as from my experience it's a ghost town, buuuuuutttt that might have changed with the new spawning system. but yeah, don't worry about looting the coast and going north, you've got it the wrong way around, loot north then come back to the coast. edit- they're going to add hunting in sooner or later, so then canned food won't be the only way to survive.
-
that is actually a really good idea.

Players who exploit the ability to server hop and players who don't.
Capo replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in New Player Discussion
if people want to survive they should go inland - blah blah it's all been said before, but it's true. also yeah op, you have to get hoppers with the first or second shot or they'll prone/log. good hunting. -
i like the inventory/text combo, what's wrong with it? although if they wanted to just cut it down to inventory icons, + make them slightly more informative i'd be ok with that, UI is so two years ago.

rly OP?
