well, yes. But why an m4 over an m16a4? Basically what you're asking for the exact same weapon with a burstfire mode instead of auto, at least as far as the games concerned, so i don't see why you couldn't make it a little more interesting.

lately it's the "poor suggestions forum". as far as i can tell, the only difference you've pointed out between the m4 and the m4a1 is the full auto and burst options. while realistically i'm sure there's more to it, in game is basically the only difference gonna be burst/auto?

My first kill was not confirmed, but i'm pretty sure i got him. I was crossing the road north-east of novy, towards altair hill, when a mosin started firing at me from the south. Immediately i panicked and went prone behind a very low wall. scanning the treeline i spotted him. Full mil gear, gas mask clone, standing between two trees and still perfectly capable of hitting me, hence he continued shooting, and eventually hit me. It must have been a wounding shot though, as i was still alive. Being in a shit position, prone, wounded, and in clear view of my attacker, i just went straight for the shot. i zoomed in with my lrs'd mosin, and quickly centered on his head and pulled the trigger. i saw the spurt of red come out of his combat helmet, just before i fell unconscious. _____________ my first mod kill, i nearly had a heart attack. It's not a very interesting story, but i'll still remember the effect it had on me for a long time.

i'm not claiming you're impoverished, just oblivious to the concept of an online game. firstly, If other people don't have an internet connection, then how are they going to download the game, and secondly if you want to play alone go to a low population server, and thirdly if your internet is down, fucking wait? And finally, almost any broadband connection should give perfectly reasonable pings, so who the fuck would this be aimed at? people who want to play a game that isn't dayz? Why would the devs waste time building a version of the game worth playing in singleplayer, when it's going to be used by very few people? There's plenty of offline single player games out there, this isn't one of them.

fuck off you lazy cunts, It doesn't take that long to get around the map. Bikes will be added, but they will not be numerous, so please pull your head out of your asses, because you're going to be running most of the way anyway. OBVIOUSLY if you don't want to waste your time, don't die. In order to do that, i would suggest not running through kamyshovo like a gimp, because that's where all the freshies are, and obviously bandits. Surely it's not that hard to recognize where the hotspots are, so if you don't want to die (IE waste your time) don't fucking go there. There is no such thing as pointless travelling, because pointless travelling would imply that you aren't going anywhere, OR that you aren't planning on surviving long enough to make the time invested worth it. If your lives only last 30 minutes, and the only part of the map you visit is electro/the coast, then you aren't really testing much of the game are you? Also the fact that berenzino is mostly packed with gear, and electro is mostly packed with freshies and bandits, implies that you're in the mood for some pvp. So if you get shot, it sounds to me like you found what you wanted. So stop complaining, and get better at the game.

NO. if you don't have an internet connection, then i'm afraid this isn't the game for you. I don't mean to shit on you for whatever your situation is, but if you can't afford a moderately fast internet connection, what are the chances you can afford a computer good enough to run the game?

it needs some tweaking as this - is a very valid point. Dayz combat usually means waiting for the other person to make the first move/mistake, so 10 minutes isn't really enough time to loot a guy. I think either body deletes when the players gets within a certain distance of it, or unlootable by the original player. that being said, it's definitely a step in the right direction, going back to your body is nerve wracking but doesn't really enforce the finality of death.

to clarify for everyone who is confused, the aim of the game is to stay alive for as long as possible. in between spawning and dying you can do what you want though, so if you don't want to pursue the noble enterprise of not dying, that's your problem. -

to add to my above post, i'd like to say that i want more zombies, who are faster and more deadly. fast and deadly enough to warrant using actual bullets on them for more than just sport, because the zombies should be a part of the survival experience, not just scenery. -

while i'm really not a fan of the crowd that only wants to spawn at balota, cherno and electro and then shoot each other, and while i'll spend quite a bit of time explaining why their fast paced shooter suggestions are shit on the forums - as long as they keep their dumbcuntery in game i don't care. tbh i'm not sure if OP's vague post is complaining about KoS or the shitcunts that want DM on the coast, but i'm certain that - OP's post won't stop them, i won't stop them, dean won't stop them and trying to stop them only fucks up the game. Leave them to it, either style of play is a perfectly acceptable style of play in an open world, and it makes my game more interesting (or it would if more than 10 people in a server were north of mogilevka). the only things that need to be stopped are - private servers with spawn loadouts, extra loot and cars and shitty ez mode suggestions designed to aid in DM gameplay and those are only bad because it takes an original survival game concept and then shits in the originality pool. -

i'll kill armed players if i think i have a good shot (remind them that they're playing dayz, and anyone could be scoping you at any minute), or if they're close enough to be a threat. freshie/melee players i'll kill if they won't back the fuck off, but i don't play on the coast at all after an hour of life so i don't really ever see them. -
the only servers you find now? they were the only servers i could find in the last 3-4 months, hence my apprehension at allowing mods for the SA. as far as OP is concerned, i agree, there's not much to do, but i enjoy the fact that nothing is given to you, so i don't think i could go back to the mod.

well, in the future iirc you will be able to spawn together with your friends on the coast. although, it seems you're idea is different. if your idea means you, as a freshspawn want to spawn on your friend, who is inland, then that's a pretty shit idea. protip, decide on a place to meet ie, a town, then go there. if it's hard, it's because it's meant to be, so suck it up.

use a map, do you know pythagoras' theorem? zoom to 100 meter increments it's very useful for setting up killzones, get some eye measuring in you aswell, because the map will give you the base number, but likely you'll be spotting targets before they reach the killzone, and if they happen to stop in a bush or check their gear it's good to be able to pick them off early. -
dumbdumbdumb idea, i think is the general flow of this thread. If you're going to suggest an idea, can you please think about what it brings to the game? not "what would be cool?" or, "what would be lulzy?" or even, "what would be pointlessly realistic?" because that line of question leads to shit ideas it seems. so - general forum suggestion format: 1. idea summarized 2. reasoning for idea (what does it bring to the game? Why should it be included?) 3. how your idea could be implemented/ would work 4. possible issues with your idea as it is 5. conclusion people need to stop just leaving one line shitthreads and then going "WELP! I HAD THE IDEA, THE BALL'S IN YOUR COURT DEAN!"

How long does it take to run from one edge to the map to the other?

we're either going to get plenty of vehicles and VERY little gasoline, or an adequate amount of gasoline, and very few cars. Because it's not fucking epoch or GTA. Getting a running car is gonna be difficult, that's the way the game plays, We don't need "plenty of vehicles asap", because it's not going to change the fact that you're going to be fucking running EVERYWHERE regardless. -
well, that's a bit brutal if essentially correct. i don't listen to music while i play, because then i can't hear anything that's going on around me, while that's not so bad in the real world, it's pretty key in dayz. Use alt tab if you have that much of a death wish. don't be dumb and ask for useless additions to the game here.

i love spawning east side, and the majority of people seem to be spawning there, the portion committing suicide, well i'm hoping they get locked into east side spawns constantly, or better yet teleported out to sea and have "stop being a shitcunt" flashing in big red letters across their screen. just get used to it, you say you've played the mod since the beginning? then you should know exactly what to do, and how to get everything you need, so what's the problem? you don't like having to go a couple of extra kilometers to get a weapon? too bad.
