Hey everyone. So if you could have one piece of clothing in DAYZ thats in the real world, what would it be? Since I know it would be freezing in Chernarus, I would want my character to be wearing this http://oxford-products.com/us/product_images/n/004/Balaclava_eyes__92353_zoom.jpg. (Kind of like my profile pic, but believe me, I have no plans of making my guy full on military). I'd probably have him in like a beanie or baseball cap on top of it maybe with other warm clothing, so it feels like he's native to the area, and he's and experienced survivor. So, what is the one item you guys would like to have on your survivor of the zombie apocalypse.

I think ARMA 3 has that. Something to build off of. I'd imagine you're more of a sniper type? Those would be sweet if your guy was going to be a tank build. LMG's and such. I think they are gonna get some bad rep in the early stages. Some people don't realize that the alpha doesn't mean you get the full game early and at a cheaper price. I think a lot of those people will get pissed and will give it some bad rep. But lol who am I kidding those people will only be like 25% of the alpha population so it think it will be >very < successful. P.S. Rocket said he would make a vid of his future new lambo after launch

Yes but even though this is what you're doing, you obviously cared more than them because this is the first petition i've seen about it. It really isnt that hard to make a thread so they must not care as much as you do.

It really depends. On the recent updates Rocket has given us, I honestly think it could come out pretty soon. It really depends, I don't want to tell you to get it and you spend your money and the the SA comes out a week later. But we don't know, you could have the game for a whole month before SA comes out. No one knows. I would suggest not. DAYZ mod is... really not a star. The game is filled with laggy servers and a bunch of jerks who will KoS you even if your not armed. You might disagree, but I think the SA will come out in December, not looking for an argument about it, but thats when I think it will. I've been following DAYZ since the last time he dissapointed everybody. He didn't dissapoint me. I knew it was WAY too early for it, but I think what by what he stated, he was going for a foundation to build on, I think its very close to that point. My advice would be just to wait.

In all honestly guys, at least the PAYDAY masks are somewhat serious. A horse mask is just kind of stupid, its too... silly. I admit they are awesome in real life, but they really have no place in DAYZ. On topic, I dont mind the PAYDAY masks. I definitely will not be wearing it, but its not something that you need to make a petition about. Come on. No need to start a petition for this ONE thing. If you feel so strongly about it, save it for in-game, waste any dude you see with it if it means that much to you.

Im pretty sure the hype train just went down a man hole opened by the hype bringers. I think you should get it because many people are speculating it coming out next year, or maybe this December. No one really knows. But a lot of early release dates were just washed down the drain so you might as well buy it to wait it out and while its one sale. Just please, don't ruin a game for others with hacks.

Gear: Maybe something like this with a baseball cap on, a kevlar vest, boots, cargo pants, flannel or normal t shirt. Weapons: A firefighters axe and an m4a1 Consumables: Pepsi or Mtn Dew (Which I might have in real life too)

I know this is kind of all confirmed (more clothing), but will there be more WARM clothing? I'd think it'd be more immersive especially with the feature with being able to see your breath. I mean i'm not talking like big thick fur parkas or anything (could happen) but maybe something like a balaclava like the one in my profile pic. I mean i'm pretty sure Russia can be freezin balls in some area and its kind of weird for people to be walkin around in like flannel and shorts. Maybe thats just because russians adapt :P. Eh, I just kind of want to make my character unique, maybe like with that balaclava and a baseball cap on. Look like a unique survivor.

Hello everyone. So i'm getting ready for DAYZ standalone, and I THINK its been confirmed that it will have early access. I've been hearing a lot that it might come out before 2013 is out the door, but theres now way to know. ANYWAYS, I was just wondering if standalone was coming to Steam and/or if there would be the alpha build on there, where we pay for it in alpha stages and keep it till full release? I heard something about it being in the Steam database, but you know, you can never know for sure.

My ankles can taste that the release is imminent. Keep working Rocket. Keep. Working.

I like the idea of character progression and classification. Say if you become a good medic or something, people might ask for a meet up or something and it might create a bond or you could sell your services for certain items (Thats just example but it would be cool in a lot of other ways)

I think Standalone should revitalize DAYZ. Give it a week and i'm sure all the people that flocked away, well, if they love DAYZ they'll come back. DAYZ SA will be much different, but it will be as DAYZ was intended. It will be very hard to survive on the environment given, and on top of that there is an impending zombie infection. Like someone said before, its going to setup a good filter. They'll be more cooperation and maybe a little bit more trust because everyone knows that surviving is 10x easier and better if your with someone else and those who think that its too hard will flock off. Too bad, thats how DAYZ is suppose to be, a survival (health and zombies) simulator. I would rather be in a game of people who would be willing to go on an army base raid for weapons or blood or something and not backstab me than people who would. It's really hard to trust people in this game and its worse when it revolves around PvP. I think once people realize that SA has broken that (if it does) then the forums will thrive, as the game. And with a much better community :D

Sweet, I'm gonna go put some money into steam right now. Whether the reviews are good are bad, the SA team already has my money in their pockets :D

I do realize that there is other ways, but i'm pretty sure if there was a bandit of sorts with a lot of goodies he would not be willing to have a friendly trade and won't be easy to restrain. Shooting other survivors whether they're trying to change it or not is still apart of something in the game. It isn't a shooter but it is a survival simulator. Sometimes bartering isn't the best way to get items.
