I was talking to a friend about this the other day, and while I disagree with the bandit skins, I think there should be SOME way to evaluate the problem w/o letting others pick out bandit vs. friendly at 700 yards. When you meet someone in RL, you tend to get a feeling about that person one way or another, this is very hard to convey in the game, but I have an idea. Many games have a slider bar that is used to age your character.. if we all started out as "fresh-faced youths" and that slider bar was moved up a year each time we killed a player, it would signify the guilt that hangs over that person. By doing it incrementally, you would not be punishing someone who has had to kill in self-defense occasionally, and at the same time making it harder for a player to gauge someones "honesty" at 300 yards. You would have to get closer to decide whether you want to lower your gun or not. -
Combination Locks - Warehouse/Foot Lockers

The problem is that IRL, locks only work when the person trying to go through it has something to lose. They are to slow down crooks, and to make the crook take more time/make more noise than if it wasn't there..... Almost any lock can be defeated with a cinder block, or a steel bar and 5 mins work. Personally I like the idea of camoflaged stashes that are burried in the ground... -

The server admin should have a way to see who killed who though. We had a guy teleport hacking the other day, and took forever to figure out who killed 10 people across the whole range of the map in 5 mins. We finally figured it out, but what a pain...

Please post anything odd you have noticed on our server so we can bring out the ban hammer. Time stamps as to when they happened are the MOST helpful.

Not to be insulting, but it pretty lame to have to scatter like rabbits because someone is intentionally hacking/abusing the system. Has Rocket commented on this problem at all? I can't imagine that they are not working on SOME sort of log-out timer.

"Stats are fun for the curious-minded, and that's all it is. " ...but this provides information to the player that he/she would normally never have in the real Zombie Apocalypse. I like to see stats too, but a heat map is entirely too revealing, and only serves as a snipers reference to choke-points and target hotspots. I have no problem with snipers, but they need to take the time and figure these things out on their own. Not use the "The New Metro Guide to Killing Travelers" map. -

Last night I was at Balota AF when 3 guys ( I thought there were only 2 at first) roll in to search the hangars. Once they had agro'ed a Zed, I decided to open fire. Turns out I suck with the AKM, because they killed the zombie, AND me. Anyways, back to life, and lo and behold I get spawned at Balota :). I make a beeline fore the airstrip hoping to salvage SOMETHING from my corpse. I snuck around behind the hangars, and all three of them are still there, so I walk in like nothing is wrong, with only a flashlight to threaten them.... this is when it gets fun... I explain to them that I was actually trying to HELP them by taking a shot at a Zed agro'ing from the far side of them, and that I missed.. They ..lol.. accept this info and let me tag along with them. Needles to say I was tagged as FoE, and they were playing on the FoE server... so now I am providing nav data to my clan-mates while we travel. It did not end up well for them... and I got all my gear back.... -

You have to realize, that there is a bit of lag between when your character appears in game, and when you actually have control. Even if it was a second or two, I would have had 3 rounds into you already. -

We looked into doing this on our server, and it is expressly forbidden by the TOS. I definitely think they should be banned...

We were really glad that someone put a big marker called "BOAT" just north of us one night. Boy did we have fun driving that Zodiac around.... but I bet they had a long walk.. :)

I agree with them making the game harder.... and they should continue to do so. Games that are too easy die an early death, and this IS about survival. The harder they make the game, the better. -

You MAY have had someone one on that server find the area where characters que in before being placed on the map by the server. Someone had a YT of this up, and because of that it is now a global ban offense. -
. Blood Regen: NO, kill something and eat it. Customization: NO, Server Lag. Gear: Yes, but keep it simple NPC Safe area: NOOO, this is the apocalypse, not Ogrimmar. Currency: NO, find someone and trade with them, if you dare to trust them enough to get that close. Events: NO, this is not a theme park. Though I WOULD like to see small mobs of zombies that wander the entire map randomly, as I think this would add more realism to the game.. Grouping: NO, you are not going into a dungeon to kill a dragon. In the real world you have to keep track of where people are and communicate with them about what you are doing and where are you going...
