The Ballistic Helmet has saved my life on one occasion. I was rollin' in Berezino with my friends when we started taking some fire around the industrial area. We all moved inside into cover, but not before my friend got clipped in the leg. He's got low blood, so we hunker down on the first floor and patch him up. Meanwhile, myself and another guy move up a few floors to the top. We're taking fire the whole way. Suddenly, my guy grunts and I sort of jerk to the side, and I get dropped to the ground. I'm laying unconscious, but my friend still has the option to administer medical supplies. He can't, because at this point there are multiple unconnected shooters all firing on each other around the Berezino Industrial. He proceeds to take out one, and I revive on my own, Shirts and pants Badly Damaged, and my helmet ruined. So, I attribute my helmet to my life, and That is why while my friends run around in berets and sunglasses to look badass, I always wear a helmet when I can get one.

I'm not saying I like sporterizing (ugh), I'm just saying that they might be common.

I'd like to see fewer "stock" older military rifles in the game in the name of realism. Many people bought Mosins, Springfields, and Lees, and had them sporterized. It was more common in years past than it is now, but there are a lot of sporterized rifles floating around. The Sporterizing of a rifle is basically modifiying it for civilian use. Most commonly so aftermarket scopes and sights can be mounted on said rifle. It results in the typical "classic hunting rifle" look. Picture attached. The stocks are generally modified and shined, things like that. The handguards are modified, and internals are sometimes modified to fit the laws of the area the rifle is owned in.

I like what they are doing currently- trying to shift the focus from military to civilian weapons. I'm really excited about some of the upcoming additions- most namely the Ruger 10/22. It's a really common, cheap plinker rifle. I know a lot of people who own one (Including me)! I don't quite understand why the first modern military rifle to be added to the game was the M4- it seems to me that in a former soviet state, an AK series rifle would be more common. Also, Kalashnikov made sporting line rifles as well that were very popular with the average folk, branded under the Saiga name. Also, i don't think they should start with a basic AK. DayZ is supposed to be taking place in the near future, and the AK-74M is the most common issue rifle for the Russians. I'd also like to see the layout of the military buildings change, with an armory where the firearms are kept (mind you, it doesn't have to be full). I'd like to see more civilian model pump shotguns, but I think the double barrel was a great addition. As for Pistols, there need to be more. Many folks have a personal protection 9mm or other such handgun.

I've experienced this a few times. Often what happened is that you accidentally log into a hardcore server. However, this isn't always the case. My friend once had his character deleted when he logged out, there are some servers that will do that. Some of them have "DO NOT JOIN" or something of the like in the name. Stay on reputable servers (high traffic). I'm unaware of any fixes for this, but just try not to server hop. You shouldn't have this issue if you stick to the same server. This really seems to be pretty random, and just remember that we're all in the early stages here.

Server: US 1154 My Name: Adam Strasser Two players- Slater and Taylor. Slater was shot by me as he was attempting to use the plane I had been refueling. The "Killed" message came up so I focused on the other player. Then, he popped back up from the ground with no help and started running around to my shooting position. I'm sorry that I don't have any other evidence but you may check the logs.
