    Player Revive idea for standalone.

A lot of really cool ideas here, but here's just a thought expanding on them. You have 12000 blood, and you are shot four times, bullets missing all major arteries and organs, but still bringing you down to about 1000 blood. You have no bandages, and bleed out, but you bleed into a state of unconsciousness. You live for a min or two, but if someone performs CPR, it goes up to five. AEDs are extremely rare, purely because it's a post soviet country and quite poor, so they probably are. Your friends then carry your body to the chopper, and your helivaced to the nearest hospital, as hospitals are the only place where defibs are. This adds the tension of is there someone near or in the hospital that will murder me, is the reward worth the risk? To encourage this, hospital roofs should have helipads and maybe even stretchers/trollies to transport the patient to the operating room. Again, just an idea that could be cool if implemented.
  2. I liked origins but I thought 1.7 made it ridiculous, still glad to see they're trying to innovate with all the stuff in the new update, the new bit of the map, new guns etc. Is there much of a story now? I myself once sent kingfish a message offering my services as a writer because I pretty much sent a message to every living being in such a position if they needed one, and he replied with a really confusing one in broken English about god only knows what. Still, I don't hold a grudge......

    "The Difference" trailer(Dayz cinematic series)

Thanks for that guys, yea I'm still getting used to Sony Vegas and Dxtory and need to mess about with it, filming for first episode should start today(I know it sound's like I'm taking it very seriously but I just can't think of how else to say it lol) Anyone interested in acting in it? I still need another two people, and it would be happening today(Saturday) around 12/1 GMT.
  5. Hello all, this post is petty much an appeal for help with a little idea I've been knocking around for quite a while. A while back a guy posted on here about doing something similar, but he has gone quite and my idea differs a fair bit from his. Instead of a natural thing, I would be trying to create a scene and act it out. I'd like to say this is very much a prototype and a lot of you might whole heartedly disagree, but I'm going to try it out for the first "pilot" episode. The thing starts with s guy in a helicopter, it's shot down, then bandits appear, he finds a group of survivors, discovers a war is going on and is torn on which to help. This is still very much open to change, as well as a fair few sub plots going on. The characters are really going to be developed and explored. What I'm pretty much trying to do is shoot a tv show on dayz. Sounds stupid, I know, but I'm into that sort of stuff and would love to see if it's possible. To make this thing happen, I am going to need a lot of stuff, and I dunno if I'm going to get it. I need about: Six to eight people to help with the filming, basically actors. A server owner who is willing to corden off a section of the server and let us use various things we need(I don't Know about the server side of things, is it possible for the owners to spawn in things? If so, that would great. If not, a server with lots of vehicles would be best) I am fairly confident in my editing skills, as well as my camera skills. I really really want this thing to take off, as I think if it works, it could work really really well. Of course if it doesn't work, which is a very real possibility, it could be a huge fail fest. Still, have to try. I have tomorrow off so I will be organizing most of it then, if you want to help post here, my skype name is IrishHugo, add me there as well and we can get talking. Just a note, it doesn't matter how your voice sounds for the acting, for the first episode I'm going to try do most of them myself, as there aren't that many, and try to edit them together. So if you want to be an actor but don't like your voice, apply anyway and we'll talk.

    Dayz YouTube story idea

Ok, editing software is sorted out, so is capture software. I also have found a server, the only thing I need is four more actors. At the minute, I'm planning on shooting this saturday, anyone else willing to do it? It will probabl be an hour, maybe more, and you guys will all be credited in the credits. If you want to do it just send me a skype request, IrishHugo is the name.

    Dayz YouTube story idea

That is a pretty great idea, it has exactly what we need for the show. I've never played it though, can it be installed with playwithsix? Are there any changes to the HUD?

    Dayz YouTube story idea

Was thinking for a few cinematic shots, like intros, outros that sort of thing, use the editor, but I was also toying with the idea of keeping the series in 1st person. Would be interesting anyway, I'll see how it looks.

    Poem - Hero prayer

How a person who's first language is not English can make such fantastic poems amazes me. Like a lot of your posts, this made me laugh out loud. Take my beans, you sexy pederphile!

    Dayz YouTube story idea

Lol yeah it is a fair bit of work, but everyone loves a challenge right? Your help with story would be great, do you have a skype so we can talk about ideas? What I'd really like is for you to listen to my ideas and give me your opinion, as well as any changes you think should be made.

    Operation Chernarus Season 2

Can I ask what is so bad about a TGN partnership grumpy(not meant to be sarcastic in the slightest, I am a small you tuber and have never heard of them, I'm curious) Also video was alright, needs a bit more action me thinks. Good effort though.

    Best "default" DayZ 1.8 server?

The RAID WINE(don't know why it's capitalized) servers are the ones I play on, they are as vanilla as you get and nearly always full, they are FR 129, 130 and 34, if your from Europe usually no lag, highly recommend them.

    Reason behind your username?

Mine is quite mind blowing really. I'm Irish. My name is Hugh. I didn't think IrishHugh sounded as good as IrishHugo, so IrishHugo it was. Still, I joined a cod lobby once and I was asked if I was Portuguese, in all seriousness. Apparently Hugo is a Portuguese name. As you can see, the mistake is easily made.
  14. I awoke to the sound of distant gunshots and the low moans of the infected. I was where I had dropped off, an office building in Elektro, surrounded by bodies. My memory flashed back, two bandits arriving and me pumping bullets into them, then two more survivors and a swarm of infected. I managed to get to the roof and wait out the firefight, but only just. I went down to investigate and sifted through the loot, nothing good. I then went into the room that looked the most secure and tried to catch some Z's. Back in the present, I was more worried about the moans then the shots. The shots were far away, the moans near. If the infected were roused, it meant people were nearby. I made my way out onto the first floor roof and saw a survivor climb the ladder onto the hospital roof. I called out, saying I was friendly, but didn't get a reply. I was curious, and he had a better vantage point, so I decided to cross the street and get up there. I sprinted across the road and grabbed hold of the ladder onto the first storey of the hospital. While I was climbing a zombie hit me and caused me to bleed. This was worrying; while I was bandaging myself the survivor could lean out and finish me off. As Julius Caesar said, In war, events of importance are usually the result of trivial causes. A simple scratch could be my death. Luckily for me, he didn't lean over and finish me off, so I was able to climb the ladder and investigate. I peeked over the top before I went up and could see two bodies, but no living people. I hauled myself up and investigated the bodies, nothing. Once was a bandit and one was a survivor. What went on I could only imagine. That was when I heard the moans, and the zombies swarming the hospital. I leaned out and saw a female survivor being looted by a male survivor, with a British Assault Pack and an M24. I didn't have a backpack and only had a Lee Enfield, so I wanted what he had. I couldn't get a clear shot so I had to lean over and expose myself, but he retreated back into the hospital before I could get off a shot. He still did not know I was here. I lay on my stomach and waited for him to reveal himself, and I saw zombies crowd the building I myself had just left, the office. I crouched and readied my rifle, I was going to take the shot. He appeared on the top floor roof, and appeared to be scanning the area for hostiles. He still didn't see me, so I had two options: not take the shot and let him go, or take the shot and get myself a backpack and an M24. I pondered it for a short while, but I didn't have enough time to write an essay on it. I made up my mind. I took the shot. It hit him in the stomach and made him bleed. He retreated to behind the section of the building on the roof, and I thought I lost him. But he must have been new, because he showed himself on the other side, just a tiny bit, and started to bandage. I took another shot, and he fell to the ground. I pumped two more into him for good luck, and went over to investigate. I got myself his backpack, some beans, and a map. This was a great find. He had no M24 ammo on him, but I took the weapon just in case. It later dawned on me later that he was no threat at all. He was clearly a newbie, having three makarov mags but no weapon, and only having a single can of stew. Thanks to my new found map, I left Elektro and made my way up north. That was my short extract on my escapades this morning, and I posted it just as an example of why I killed on sight. For the first survivor, he had no weapons I could see, so I called out to him. I didn't for the second because I didn't want to scare him away, but the first time I saw him leaving the hospital, I knew I wanted to kill him, simply for his backpack. If he had been unarmed, I probably wouldn't have murdered him, because it would only have been a waste of ammunition. The reason I killed him is because I wanted his stuff, which was better than mine. I'm not the first to do so, and the concept is as old as man. About a month ago I decided to be a hero, I was still a survivor but I gathered together all the blood bags I could and blooded my friends when they needed it, didn't shoot survivors, only shot bandits if I was threatened. This was going well, but I was being so good and hadn't got my hero skin, after ten or so bloodbags and bandages and morhpines, and I was sick of getting shot at my survivors and not wanting to shoot back, or trying to make contact and then being lured out and murdered. I would not regard myself as a bandit, on this forum many say real banditry is not KoSing, but holding up and robbing, rather the opposite to KoSing. I was originally going to call this post "Banditry", but that wouldn't be completely accurate. So I, like many others I suspect, did not murderer for the fun of it, but simply because I wanted his stuff. Should I have tried to hold him up? Probably. But I didn't want to take the risk. After this I am going to try hold up people instead of murdering them. We'll see how it turns out. If you read that gigantic wall of text, thanks! I am interested in joining the CFP and doing articles and the like, and this is my sample of what I would be doing. I tried to explore why people KoS, but I kinda got sidetracked and maybe didn't go into enough detail. I'd love if people read it and gave me opinions on it, as I really want (constructive) feedback. Please post all feedback below, thanks for reading. Regards, Hugh.

    Outreach to the community.

If this is going ahead, I'd love to be apart of it too. Story sounds good, but I had a few suggestions, see what you think. Like the fact that he joins the military and excels at it, but instead of mowing down a whole squad of enemies and his commander, how about in a hostile zone he shot a civilian or two, and was dishonourably discharged for that? And with the flight to Cherno, I like that it gets shot down, could be expanded upon. Lets say there's the pilot, three guards and the main fella. The pilot gets sniped and the chopper starts going down, one of the others tries to take over but he can't in time and they crash outside of cherno. The player fell out just as it was about to crash, and is about 20m from the crash, luckily he landed in a bush so he's ok, and also hidden. The pilot and guy who tried to pilot are dead, but the two guards could be alive, but bleeding with broken legs and be calling out for help. Player is about to go and help when a truck with four heavily armed bandits pulls up and starts securing weapons. The could be in a military Ural, maybe even combat clothes, suggesting they are ex military, and one of the guards thanks god and asks them for help. They then shoot him at point blank range in the head. The other guard grabs a pistol and tries to shoot a bandit, but it's out of ammo. The main bandit strolls up to the guard, takes out a baseball bat/hatchet/crowbar and starts bludgeoning him to death. If you wanted, the "main" bandit could become the main antagonist, and taking him down could become one of the primary goals. I like creating stories and the like, and have a tad bit of experience with youtube, and would love to see this get going and help out with this. I'll add you on skype, maybe we could get a chat going with all the people who want to help. Lets make this happen.

    Incapacitated but conscious

No matter what anyone says, the best way to deal with the incapacitated is to grab the unconscious bodies, ensure they're still bleeding, and drag them along while loudly singing "Mary had a little lamb" over the mic until they bleed out.

    How I became a bandit.

Considering English isn't your first language, very well done. He was a bollox anyway, you had the drop and tried to be friendly but all he could think about was getting more gear he probably didn't need. Anyway, good article!
  20. IrishHugo

This is how bandits should be.

My friends usually KoS (dirty) but yesterday I said "Right lads lets hold some people up". We found a fresh spawn in a barn and screamed at him to drop everything, he dropped his flares and painkillers. My friend then shot him twice because he was too slow in doing so. After he was shot the fresh spawn started bandaging himself, my friend screamed " WE TOLD YOU TO DROP EVERYTHING BUT YOU KEEP BANDAGE???? YOU DIE" then shot him in the head. As you can tell, we're very good at banditry.

    The mentality of KoS

LeeHarvey I wasn't trying to be bitchy, I'm glad you read it! It was kind of an article instead of a full on creative story, but I was using elements at the beginning. Entspeak this all actually happened, I don't know how I missed him but I was on my stomach waiting for him to come out of the hospital but I wasn't watching the utmost right window. While I was looting I noticed that he only had makarov mags but no secondary, and the M24 was out of ammo, so I presume he was new.
  22. IrishHugo

    The mentality of KoS

Yea but "I killed for loot, maybe I should have tried robbing him" isn't a great story. A lot of novels/films can be boiled down to a paragraph, doesn't mean people say "Why isn't this a paragraph?" It was just an attempt at creating a story but also asking a pertinent question. Thanks for the answer, different people, different attitudes.

    The mentality of KoS

Thanks Frytek, hopefully I'll be let in. I'm thinking of doing a few posts where I try my hand at being a proper bandit, just holding people up instead of murdering them. Considering I'm now at the NWAF, that should be fun.

    The mentality of KoS

Thanks Weparo, yea I like stories too, that's why I'm interested in joining the CFP. I did notice a few typos and will probably go back and change them in a bit. Leviski, I had a chuckle to myself after reading your post. An analysis of KoS would possibly be the best post ever.
