as of the mod, all the things you listed will be implemented.

its alpha, they know this and will probably fix it soon.

well it would not work as you think, in my opinion there should be bigger servers, with more players+bigger map, that way you could have lets say 300 people on 1 server and you got that character there. lets compare to World of warcraft, you got 1 character, you die you restart like normaly, but you could have the "digging holes" and such in a way were each server have their own database. this would ez the "need" for base building etc.

its supposed to be dark...there is no "fixing" i hope they keep it this way.
