Nuts and Sticks | DayZ Epidemic US 592 |Veteran|3RD:On/CH:On/WP:On
longdongsilverz replied to Madrox's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I jumped on your server yesterday and there were a lot of issues. I paradropped in (which was awesome) and it was nighttime. I went to the nearest town that I could find and proceeded to loot buildings to try and find gear. I found nothing. Literally, not one spawn of gear in the entire town (large enough town). Then, my friend joined. Same thing, we met up, searched for gear...no loot at all. The only time we found anything at all was a chopper crash in the middle of the town, but the only loot out front of it was 2 x blue chemlights and 1 x heatpack. We kept looking just thinking it was an insanely tough server with really low loot spawns. We kept looking and came to a bridge that crossed a river. There was a car on either side of the bridge, both with the left rear wheel missing and no gear in either. I then looked ahead of me and, in the middle of the bridge, were 2 lit blue chemlights and a Hazmat soldier crawling around aimlessly with an M4. I got scared thinking he was going to turn around and shoot my friend and I, but he just crawled back and forth across the bridge, not noticing that either of us were there and we hadn't found weapons of any kind so we couldn't even get his gear. We left the server and reloaded it a few times, trying to see if it was just bugged from a weird load. It never fixed the issues so we just went to another server. I'm hoping this was just some weird thing that happened and when your server restarted, it was fixed, but I hadn't thought about reporting it until now and for that, I apologize. I hope you got it sorted out though because we really did enjoy the experience, we just didn't find anything at all and were about to thirst to death before we logged off. -
Survivor Looking for Group - Have Tactics/Military Knowledge
longdongsilverz posted a topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
I'm Kyle. I'm 26 yrs old, from NC, US. My schedule, however, allows me to play between the hours of 0700 and 1500 EST Mon-Fri because I work 2nd shift. I am not usually online on the weekends. I am looking for a group of people to run with who are not Bandits and do not believe in a "shoot-on-sight" mentality. Of course, there is need to protecting oneself and ones' group and belongings, but I believe that, in the setting of Day Z, there should be a way of "negotiating at a distance" (with overwatch) method to interacting with other players. I have knowledge of tactics and military structure that could be put to good use in a group or put to use so that I could "fall in" in a group that already uses such structure. I can follow or lead; sufficient at both. Please let me know if you would like me to join your group if your members are online during the same hours. Thanks! -
REVIVAL: Where would you like a DayZ SA map to be set?
longdongsilverz replied to King of kong's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'm really not trolling, but I couldn't help but notice that the 'South Murica' option says, "Meeheeco!" next to it... ...'Meeheeco' is still North Murica (Central Murica is also in the continent of North Murica too)... lol Anyway, I voted for Ireland/UK as well, but didn't think about the gun laws thing...something could be done about that though. I just think the scenery would be amazing to play in! -
Lol I agree with Dr. Scandalous on this one; HOWEVER I was caught extremely off-guard today when my friend (wearing camo and carrying a large backpack, an M4 CCO and a camo M24 on his back) and I (wearing a ghillie suit and carrying an M14 AIM and a large backpack) were sneaking through the barracks at NWAF today and suddenly got aggro'd by a zombie that we didn't see in the nook of a building to the left of the barracks. My friend was the one who was aggro'd and so he ran off, trying to lose the Zed while I looted the barracks. He ran back by me after I grabbed what was important and we proceeded to move to another barracks building when another guy in a ghillie comes sprinting around the side of the building and lays in an external corner beside the door with a trail of 4 Zeds on his tail. He bandages while the Zeds look for him and stops running long enough to type "friendly" as my friend and I are aiming at him. We said ok and watched him get up and run off to try and lose them as we ran the other way to try and lose the last Zed that was interested in us... Guy in a ghillie at NWAF who DIDN'T try and snipe me and actually said "friendly"?! Mind=blown. Lol

Am I the Only Person Who "Gets In Character" ?
longdongsilverz replied to applejaxc's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
AppleJaxc, this is my character (also DayZRP): Name: Kyle Lott Callsign: Raptor Age: 26 Height: 6'1" Weight: 240 lbs. Hair Color: Light Brown Eye Color: Blue Background: Kyle grew up in many places all over the world as an Army brat; being the son of a Master Sergeant in the US Army. Living in various climates and cultures allowed him to learn how to be flexible and able to adapt to his surroundings, giving him a wealth of knowledge and a perfect background for what was to come. His father's career and lifestyle inspired Kyle to join the Army as well once he turned 18 years old. After Kyle completed basic and served two years as an MP in Iraq, he knew he wanted to do something more in-depth for his country and so, he was shipped to Fort Bragg, North Carolina to train to become his life-long dream; an Army Green Beret. His training left him with honed senses, combat skills and survival knowledge that would allow him to become a dependable asset in any situation. Kyle met a woman named Cassidy on a deployment to Iraq. She had been working as a humanitarian contractor there when their paths crossed and they were married a year later when each of their time in Iraq was complete. Kyle received word that he and his team were needed in Afghanistan to wrap up operations there and tie up some loose ends so he was deployed for what was supposed to be a six month stint in the sandbox. Little did Kyle know, that the Chernarus region in Russia had been lighting up on NORAD's map due to some strange activity. Kyle was asked by his CO to advise in the mission's POA while his team went on a patrol through Al Fahar and during planning, Kyle's CO received a call straight from the White House requesting that all assets in the region be sent to Chernarus immediately. Kyle requested to wait for his unit to return, but the White House said that National Security was at stake and there was no time to wait for anything or anyone. So Kyle, along with a rag-tag group totaling eight men from the Marines, Army, Air Force and Navy were transported by C130 to Chernarus, carrying only what they had on their person. On the flight, Kyle was briefed that the teams' mission was to investigate the situation in Chernarus and confirm or disprove the claims of 'walking dead' in the region. The mission was supposed to be reconnaissance with ROE being only fire if fired upon and the team were supposed to radio for extraction after three days. Three days passed. Then five. Then ten; all with no communication and no way to get home. Kyle and his team needed to extract; they had completed their mission by day two, having made contact with locals and seeing the 'walking dead' phenomenon for themselves and it cost them 3 of their comrades' lives. With dwindling ammunition and supplies, Kyle took charge of the situation and motivated the men to continue to fight to survive, find supplies and reestablish communication with their commander so that they could extract and warn the folks back home; warn Cassidy. "Is she ok? Does she even know what's happening? What about my folks? What about everybody back home? Has this spread? What is going on?" - all of these thoughts constantly ran through Kyle's head, yet he was steadfast. Strong. Determined. He knew he had to keep surviving, he had to fight for his country, for his family, for his wife, for the men beside him... -
If you still have one, I'd like it please. I haven't been playing long enough to get the Hero status, but I have played the hero-type since I've started a month ago. I have given helo rides to survivors that needed it, only fired when fired upon and bandaged/transfused survivors in the wastes. Edit: read that you already gave them both away :(

RP Character Bio for DayZRP
longdongsilverz replied to longdongsilverz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't blame you man. I hate that you got blacklisted. I understand why they have the age rule, but not every person under 16 is immature and unable to abide by their rules. Wonder if there are any other RP servers...I don't know of any, but it'd be worth a shot right? -
Evolving Appearence (DayZ Mod)
longdongsilverz replied to arseandproud's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah, I don't really get it either, but that's all I did was go to bmrf.me, go to their forums, made an account (didn't put in a GUID) and a message popped up saying that I was whitelisted. The same process happened for a couple of friends of mine who did that while we were online together. Maybe an admin was online at that moment and not when you applied? -
RP Character Bio for DayZRP
longdongsilverz replied to longdongsilverz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The one in the title of my thread :p Lookup DayZRP.com and they manage 2 servers...once you are whitelisted on the site (which has about 675 pending applications...there were 650 when I applied 3 days ago) you have access to their servers. It's a lot of fun and very interesting. The better your application and character bio, the faster you get whitelisted. They want to make sure that you're mature enough to RP on their servers and not break the rules. Check it out! :) -

Is There a Way to Lookup PlayerID While Not In-Game?
longdongsilverz posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
As the title says: is there a way to lookup your PID without booting ARMA or DayZ? I am at work and don't have access to my computer with my game on it, but need to know my PID. Any way to get it? Like see PIDs on server logs or something? Thanks in advance for any answers. -
Is There a Way to Lookup PlayerID While Not In-Game?

Needed to fill out an application for a server in order to get whitelisted and needed my GUID and PID...had the first and not the second. Obtained it though, per my last post. -
@DarkPhaze - just a friendly tip, use those different channels to your advantage: Main Channels: The Side Chat (blue) as they've stated, will allow you to type to people all across the map (most servers don't want you to speak in the side chat using a Mic; they prefer text only). The Vehicle Chat (yellow) will allow you to type/speak to those in the same vehicle as you. Useful if you just want to speak to your friends in your helicopter or SUV etc. The Direct Chat (off-white) will allow you to type/speak to anyone close to your character (if you want to rob someone for example, you could get the drop on them, aim your gun at the back of their head and tell them in Direct Chat: drop your gear or die, you have a gun at your head; OR if you're nicer than that, just give a heads up to any player you've seen looting a construction site that you're friendly and entering the site etc.) Hope these tips help if you hadn't figured those out already :)

Not enough users on DayZ+, what's similar in hardness but more peepz?
longdongsilverz replied to LeDave's topic in New Player Discussion
I'm not sure what else you'll hear, but DayZero and DayZ Origins (especially either of these two on Veteran difficulty) are tough enough to where people are more likely to band together. The only issue is, that you'll always have those ***holes that just want to see the world burn who will ruin all the good that you and others are doing. Never completely trust anyone unless you've developed a reputation with them after playing for a really long time, or if you know them outside of the game. Just my 2 cents. If you're online 0730-1500 EST during the week, I'd be happy to link up with you (or rather, have you join up with my friends and I). We were doing transport runs today in a Huey; picking up stragglers and dropping them at a designated point for a coordinated attack on an AI fortress so that they could try and get better gear. We provided overwatch and air support while they got their stuff together. PM me if you play during the same time and I'll give you my Skype tag. Cheers! -
Subtle/Small Additions to make DayZ SA/mod more Hardcore
longdongsilverz replied to DemonGroover's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I agree with Death Dealer. I really hate to burst your bubble because I, too, enjoy brainstorming about ways to improve or change things, but as he said, although it sounds like it would make things more realistic (as it would), it would just make the game so much harder that it would make many people not want to play. Think about this, if you did that to shoe size, wouldn't you want to find clothing that fit your character as well? Coats for changing weather (which would be cool, but who would want to have to carry a heavy coat in their pack for colder weather? lol), new jeans or cargo pants when yours got worn out etc. This would have to impliment: 1) Custom sizing for each character 2) "Wear and tear"/deteriorization system for clothing and gear 3) Changing temperatures and implimentation of weather effects on characters (being cold, or cold + wet, or getting heat exhaustion etc) Although these things would make it more realistic, I think that implimenting these things wouldn't be of paramount importance such that other things are omitted from the game in order to have these; not to mention that it would become too monotonous to find new clothing alongside already having to find food, water, gear and ammo to stay alive. Just my 2 cents :) -

This topic was already done when someone said "no" lol, but just FYI, for the 0 other people that care (lol) I was able to contact one of the server admins for a server that I played on yesterday and they looked up my PID for me. Awesome guys at BMRF.me :) -

Is There a Way to Lookup PlayerID While Not In-Game?
longdongsilverz replied to longdongsilverz's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
@Mercules - I'm just a player. I don't run a server so I don't have access to that information, but I could try and ask one of the admins of the server I played on! No, I am trying to get my PID. I know that you can obtain it by going in-game to the "Profiles" menu and clicking on whichever profile you want to play; the PID is a number that is located at the bottom of that menu under the selected Profile. I'm wondering if there is a way to lookup my PID while I'm not able to access the game. (I.E. is there an online registry or some other way to obtain this?) -
A rare moment in DayZ
longdongsilverz replied to DayZeeSurvivor's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I enjoy playing friendly as well and it surprises me when I find someone who does the same: I was on an Overwatch server the other day and was in the tower at Zub castle on the third floor. I was guarding 3 AKMs, 2 M16A2s and and M4 with ammo, meds and other things that had been spawned/left there. A player came up the stairs with his rifle aimed at me and he didn't say anything as he advanced toward me so I fired 2 rounds from my M4 into him and he went prone and yelled "Friendly! Friendly!" so I ceased fire. He then shot at me when there was a lag between him talking and me responding with "ok, sorry" so I shot him in the face, thinking that it was a dupe. He talked back and forth with me telling me that he was sorry for shooting, but he didn't hear my response saying that I was friendly as well and I guarded his body until he returned to get his gear and now we team up all the time. But, even MORE surprising: This afternoon I got onto a DayZero server and I had just spawned. There were Zeds everywhere around where I spawned and I was aggro'd immediately (damnit)...so I ran from them, got hit a couple of times, bled a good bit before I could lose them in the water, and bandaged myself, using my only bandage (veteran server and this was the first time I had played DayZero). Anyway, a white truck comes barreling down the road and I said "hey truck!" I get a "?" in the side chat. I responded, "Can I have a lift to wherever has weapons and meds? I just spawned, no weapon, friendly." He said, "there's a gun in the back of the truck. Take it." I couldn't believe it!! Then, even more surprising was when I got to the truck, he killed me. I'm jk! The gun he had in the inventory was an AK74 with a scope (looked like a Dragonov scope!) and 1 mag. I couldn't believe that he gave me something other than a Makarov, if that! He drove away, I said, "thanks a lot!" and he said, "you're welcome :)" and that was the end of it. Feels good to know that there are others like that huh? (not to mention that someone else later on tried to drive blindly down the coastline to get to me when I had 2% blood and was crawling thru a town with no map due to a broken leg...) -

idea for disarm player and make safe situation
longdongsilverz replied to wild_man's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yes, but if you program it into the game to have a particular mapped button (something that isn't used much at all) that throws down your primary weapon, then that would work well :) Honestly, that would work in more than just that robbery situation: think about all the times you want to kill a zombie and there are tons around so you can't shoot them. You have no suppressed weapons, but you just found a hatchet. How useful would it be to throw your primary down, click the hatchet and silently kill the zombie that is approaching? I know that they have an option to drop your primary and pick up the weapon that you're looking at, but this often has issues ranging from the primary being lost after it's dropped to super slow pick-up time. Basically, a drop button would be useful in the event that these issues with swapping primaries are not fixed :p
