    My experiences in Dayz so far.

    Yep, Standalone = KOS Don't bother helping new players, if they have at least a melee weapon, they'll end up chasing you for 30 minutes trying to kill you.

    No, we don't have that in the game. Stalking people and hoping they don't see you for an hour just to see if they murder someone for no reason is super boring. And 90% of encounters are decided very rapidly when whoever it is runs blindly at you with an axe. There is no "I'm friendly" talk. Almost every single time we've approached a player that was armed with at least an axe they're NOT friendly, because the last 30 times they met a person that person tried to kill them. Most people don't even use the stupid voice comms, even after repeated attempts to contact them. So YOU can go play on your Vanilla server, and WE can go play on our Hero VS Bandit server. But you're 100% opposed to letting US play how WE want to on our OWN server that we're PAYING for. Got it, seems reasonable..........not...........

    I am OK with the armband system being enabled for private servers. The system won't work unless the armband displays on every character. Hero, Civ, Bandit. If it's optional, then you're right back to killing everyone that doesn't have an armband. So quit getting so butt hurt about the freaking suggestion. You can go and play your Vanilla, and we'll go play where we can get some hero VS bandit PVP..........not everyone is a bandit in the server PVP.

    Exactly my point! Well said! I want to shoot bandits. I don't want to shoot heros. There is no mechanic in the game to allow that style of play. If there is some type of small armband identifier, you are NOT going to stand out like a flaming beacon. Quit exaggerating. If you want to keep KOSing with the armband system, YOU CAN STILL DO THAT. NOTHING is stopping you from doing that. But it WILL allow people who want to play as heros, a way to identify heros and not shoot them. Not everyone in this game wants to be a KOSer.

    Pretty much sums up the game. And there is no turning back from KOS. Some idiots said the Standalone would be different, then they said "when they implement item damage" it would be different, now they're on to some fantasies about "be careful when you approach people" and it will be different. Everyone we've met, that had access to a weapon, has tried to kill us. Standalone = KOS Forums = Full of people that want to do nothing but KOS, the simplest easymode there is. Not a very dynamic game. Loot, hide, KOS. Loot, hide, KOS.

    Right now 90% of the interaction is already OUT of the game. Players kill on sight. Our entire clan wanted to be heros, but the stupid lack of a humanity system forced us to change to kill everyone without warning. Don't talk, don't offer help, just murder every single person you see...........aka NOT how we want to play the game. Are you slow or something? KOS is the primary method of play for every server we've ever been in. Mod, Standalone, all of them. What type of fairy princess server did you find that everyone sat around and talked before blowing eachother's heads off?

    I'd be fine with blood on the clothes too for bandits. There'd need to be something to mark heros. Maybe dirt on the clothes? Then civilians have nothing on the clothes? Good idea man!

    Severely flawed system. Most of these guys play on different servers all the time. So I'm supposed to catalog and rate the actions of 1,000,000 other players that I could possibly come into contact with. Chances are in a week I might run into 1-5 guys I previously catalog'd. So the other 20-30 players I see would be completely without info. Sorry, not enough. Also probably a nightmare to code into the game. An armband is much much easier to code. And creates some added "depth" to the game so you could interact with players accordingly.

    It isn't a neon sign, or a giant red arrow. Thanks for repeatedly misconstruing what I'm staying. It's a SMALL indicator of bandit and hero status. Visible only if you can actually get close enough to see it, or a little further away with optics. If you were 100 meters away in a treeline, and the person actually can't SEE you, they can't SEE a small armband on your arm. It wouldn't glow, or give names, or appear like magic above someone. And if you're not going to be a bandit, why do you even care? If you're just trying to medic everyone, and run away from conflicts, why do you care?

    Please tell me that you were making a joke. So I'm supposed to follow a guy around. Wait for him to murder someone. Get close enough so I can voice chat. Hope and pray he doesn't shoot at me. Kindly ask his STEAM NAME. Mark a dot down next to a list of 100 other Steam names. Reference my chart frequently, and always ask someone's Steam name before I shoot them. This is what ruins the DayZ community........... *facepalm*

    Yep, exactly. Regardless of how they do the identification system. You can STILL shoot everyone in the face if you want! You can shoot everyone! I can see that someone is a hero and NOT shoot them! Everyone wins......

    Yep, they get to play the way they want. When they hear something the Hero players want.......all you get is......... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STUPIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD LAMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Rather than an intelligent discussion on how to satisfy both sides. Glad the kiddies are ruling the forums.

    Baker, Just for your information, I kill tons of people. I don't CARE about dying. I would like to see some people that I don't HAVE to kill. If this game is all kill everyone everywhere everytime, this game isn't going to last. And I don't care if it is implemented in the PUBLIC servers, I would be fine if it is in the PRIVATE servers. You go play your Vanilla KOS on the publics, and just stay out of our private servers and you'll be OK.

    Yeah, 90% risk of getting killed by the guy you just gave an axe and some beans to is soooooooooooo worth it. Being a hero is not possible unless you like dying and losing all your stuff on a regular basis. And quit with the stealth / friends crap too. It's way too easy to see people in this game as is. The only way to be stealthy is hide in a bush. If your friends are covering you, and some bandit spawns into the barracks while you're looting, can't very well fix that, right? I just hear a lot of "wahhhhhhhhh we don't want anything that will stop the constant kill on sight mentality of this game". I'm just wondering why you aren't playing COD or BF? You can get a lot more kills there. This game should be MORE than that.

    The -1000 / -500 / +250 system would take care of it. If you KOS'd everyone, you'd always be negative because of the -1000 hits for every hero you took down. It would take a LONG time to farm +250 for hero kills just so you could KOS everyone. If there was a double penalty for killing 2 heros in a row, it would be -1000 for the first hero kill and -2000 for the second one. KOS heros would rapidly drop back to KOS bandits at -2000 per kill (which would take 8 hero kills to break even at +250). You could even make it +100 for killing a bandit, but that would be really hard to make up for a single hero kill by having to kill 10 bandits for +1000.

    So you want 100% realism in a game that doesn't have 100% realism because it would be unplayable. In real life I am a trained military marksman. I can break down, clean, and reassemble a M4 rifle while I'm hung upside down in a pitch black room. If you're a civilian that never touched a gun, I would be a LOT more accurate than you. Not to mention I'd have the ability to clear weapon jams, maintain weapons, properly add and use accessories on rifles, etc. But in the mod we are all EQUAL accuracy to facilitate gameplay. Loot wouldn't magically respawn everywhere every 2-4 hours. But it DOES to facilitate gameplay. If you went to Cherno or Electro there would be 1 million zombies. Not even possible to loot let alone live in there. But you CAN to facilitate gameplay. So you're for realism when it makes your point, but against it when it's inconvenient or goes against your point. Congrats! Good point!

    Taliban in Afghanistan. Notice most of the idiots don't get on the videos with their face exposed? Most are full head wrap. Same thing with gang members in most countries. Most do their videos with bandannas covering their faces. Same thing with bank robbers. Ski masks.

    There has to be a way to get yourself back into Hero status if you have to defend yourself from another Hero player. Or if someone starts out with a few hero kills, but really wants to play hero. The key is to keep the humanity gain small for bandit kills, and no humanity change for blood bagging, zombie killing, etc. You can make the humanity system relatively unexploitable by issuing different points for kills: Kill a hero = -1000 humanity Kill a civ = -500 humanity Kill a bandit = +250 humanity * No humanity gain or loss from any other actions. No healing points, zombie killing points, etc, etc. Just strictly based on player kills. You'd have to kill 4 bandits for every hero killed if you wanted to stay positive. * Maybe add a double penalty for killing 2 heros or civs in a row. That would definitely fix people farming humanity, just so they could KOS later. So your opinion on how the game should be played = Valid Other people's opinions on how the game should be played = Invalid Got it. Thanks for proving my point.

    Great point. I'd be fine with armbands, or face wraps, or whatever. Does NOT need to be skins. I like the look of the different clothes. Taviana rocked! Much much better than Chenarus in my opinion. Better looking, better driving / flying, better loot distribution, better everything!
