    The most common 'cheat' used in DayZ...

    So you can't talk with your friends while you're playing.........unless you're within 50 feet of them. Yeah, that sounds super fun, with all the KOS going on, trying to link up with a KOS'd teammate via Steam Text Message, for hours and hours and hours. There hasn't been a game that I know of that's disabled or stopped or outlawed voice chat programs.

    Being a hero is pointless, unless you like being a bullet sponge. KOS banditry is the only way you can play this game if you don't want to die a shit ton.

    Thought you said you were playing as a hero? If you're going to play as bandit, what do you care if I have an armband on? You can wear it, but you also don't have to wear it. Your choice. And no, you can't "fake" the armband, otherwise the system won't work.

    Once again, you misrepresent stuff. Take a look at the EYES pictures. At 50 meters, with just your eyes, it's almost invisible. Its visible from longer distance only if you SEE the person, have optics, and can aim at them. You act like it's a rotating police siren on a person's head..........or some hacked ESP mode. And you can TAKE IT OFF. So you don't need to play with it on. Your choice.

    I want to go kill bandits. I don't want to kill heros. It's pretty simple. I made an example of what it might look like. Please note the color is brighter on the armband just so you can see it.

    It would be a "spawn" option similar to the mod's "display name yes / no". Select Yes when you spawn, your armband displays. Select No when you spawn, your armband does not. That lasts until you respawn. It would not be a lootable item. If it was lootable it would completely break the system.

    Do you think that 90% of the population would shoot eachother on sight? Can you sprint endlessly for hours and hours? Do you need to eat every 5 minutes? Will you starve to death if you don't eat for 30 minutes? I love the realism argument. There are things in the game to facilitate gameplay. A simple armband "that you can tear off if you want" doesn't dictate how YOU should play the game, or how I should play the game. You can still play however you want.

    I don't think any type of "sanity" or "nervousness" would ever be implemented. It's a definite negative that bandits can't control. Having an armband that you can take off, you can either leave it on (as most heros would), or take it off (as most bandits would). It gives a "choice" to the player. Not negative consequences they can't control. I don't care about people that want to kill everyone else, they can still do that. I just want to be able to find people I don't have to kill. The armbands that you can rip off achieve that effect. If you see an armband, you know the relative morality of the player. A hero can still kill another hero, but there's a significant humanity loss. A bandit can kill anyone they want, and they'll stay a bandit.

    Ding ding ding, we have a winner! Heros and civilians would probably keep theirs on, and bandits would take theirs off. Nobody is forced to wear anything!

    I couldn't agree more. This system would not stop anyone from playing how they wanted to. Want to be a bandit, you can do that. Want to be a civilian, you can do that. Want to be a hero (without being a bullet sponge), you can do that. I'd even be cool with the armband being "tear off" as long as it's not an item someone else can pick up. So when you spawn, you get this on your mousewheel: Wear Armband (Yes) Tear off Armband (No) * If the armband is a lootable item, it 100% breaks the system and we're back to all KOS, all day long. Want to wear it, you can. Want to keep it off, you can do that too.

    Don't bother man. Without a real humanity system, the kids will KOS, and we're forced to KOS in return. If you want a real humanity system that would work, check my signature.

    Yep, DayZ Standalone = KOS Kill everything that moves, even if it's an unarmed fresh spawn. Maybe if there was an actual HUMANITY system like the one described in my sig below............we could actually interact with other players.

    Yep, pretty much the only way to play DayZ.........KOS. No interaction, no depth, just shoot / stab / bludgeon everything living. Yawn, wonder why I don't play the Standalone right now.......

    No, you're just an unlucky victim of the KOS style gameplay. Unless they come up with an effective humanity system (like the one below in my sig), the Standalone will just be another big giant KOS fest. Super boring, our clan isn't even playing the Standalone anymore. Nothing to do, everyone shoots everyone, boringgggg! Might as well play COD, at least that's more interesting than sneaking around till you can shoot another player in the back.

    Yep, welcome to KOS Standalone. They should just remove the zombies from the game. They're irrelevant to player vs player murder. They could even change the name to KOS Standalone Deathmatch Permadeath or something like that!

    Yep, pretty much sums it up. Hero = bullet sponge Welcome to Standalone...........or just another KOS extension of the mod. Different game mechanics, still everyone kills everyone the instant they see them.

    Won't work. With 90% of the community KOSing everyone they see.............you'll just get axed to death instead of shot. The only thing that would work is something that visually identifies good vs bad. See my signature thread below.

    Yep, pretty much sums up the Standalone. KOS or get KOS'd. Super fun right? Now if they had a real humanity system like the one in my signature, you could have some indication of who was friendly and who was a murdering asshat.

    ULTIMATE bandit hunting squad

    Just waiting for the next post....... Uh, 10 bandits joined and stabbed us in the back. We couldn't tell they were bandits until they put bullets in the back of our heads. Ultimate Fail
