    My first KOS

    Zhrike, you did what you had to do. With all the pointless KOS going on in the servers, your only option is to KOS, or get an axe / bullet in the back later. If they had a working humanity system, maybe that would change. Until then, my philosophy is "shoot till they stop moving, shoot some more, and bury an axe in their head to finish it off".

    I'm not for "limiting" a certain person's desired play style. If someone wants to KOS, so be it. The armband system doesn't limit KOS. There will be PVE servers where you can PVE all day long if you want. You don't need to be in a server that's PVP oriented. I just want to see a Private Server Humanity System that we can use, that is not easily exploitable. I want a server where there's PVP, but it's not 90%+ KOS. Want Vanilla KOS, go play on a Vanilla server. Want PVE, go play on a PVE server. Want Hero VS Bandit, go play on a Humanity Server. I just don't want any more of the "half assed" mod humanity systems that never worked. If you're going to something, do it right the first time, and be done with it. This should be something that the devs code in for use in "private servers only".

    Yep, welcome to KOS DeathMatch Permadeath Standalone (uh kinda with a zombie here or there to get the DayZ part of it) Despite many asshats saying: When they add bases, there will be less KOS When they finish the item destruction there will be less KOS When there's more stuff to do there will be less KOS When there is............you get the deal Until there is a Humanity System like the one described in my signature below..........all you will get is lots and lots and lots of KOS.     Yeah 10% chance you'll get set free. 90% chance they do douchy stuff to you until you're dead, or they just shoot you anyways. KOS is the only way to play this game. I'll kindly die with my boots on thanks. Or you die with my axe in the back of your skull.

    Unfortunately it's also the easiest way to get KOS'd. Not worth it. KOS rules this game until they get a real Humanity System in.

    Wow an honest bandit admitting that KOS is too easy a play style! Bravo man! If there was an actual Humanity System like the one suggested in my signature below, it would balance out the hero vs bandit play styles. Right now it's 100% in favor of bandits, with 0% in favor of heros.

    This is why we need identifiers of hero / bandit status. This is why I KOS everyone I see instead of helping. I don't care if you want to play this way, but there should be some indicator of bandit / hero status. And yes it is KOS if you trick someone, only to kill them when they get closer to you. Which I am perfectly OK with. You can KOS all you want.

    I don't think Sanity would be fair for bandits. I'm not trying to end KOS. By all means I love PVPing. I just would like to have some people I don't necessarily NEED to kill. Trying to assign negative Sanity to players that like to KOS would be a definite disadvantage. The Armband System, that you can REMOVE if you don't like it, solves the issue. No negative stat penalty for anyone. You can have an identifier on you if YOU want it. Then, and only then, could you be a hero without being a stupid boring stalker, or bullet / axe sponge.

    Welcome to the KOS Brotherhood. KOS Deathmatch Permadeath Standalone! It would be nice if there was some other alternative play style that was viable. But being a hero is stupid because you end up risking your ass helping, just to have some 12 year old chase you for 30 minutes with an axe. Not worth it.

    I have no desire to be a bullet sponge hero. With the way the game is setup, there's no reason not to KOS, and tons of reason to KOS. Don't blame you a bit. Kill first, or die trying.

  16. Shoot first, shoot often, keep shooting until you run out of ammo, or the threat is removed. Although I wish it wasn't, KOS is the only valid play style right now. All other skills are secondary to KOS.

    It's not a perfect system, but it's better than the KOS culture that is forced into this game. The bandit playing as a hero would never get to murder the heros, or he'd rapidly transition to bandit. Not very fun for a KOSer right? Maybe negate the humanity repeated kills on the same person? That way you couldn't "farm your friends" for humanity so you could be a fake hero? And no, it doesn't mean that they WILL implement it, but it means they WILL see it, and consider it.

    KOS removes the ability to be a hero without being a bullet sponge. Lowest common denominator is KOS, in case you don't know what that means, look up those big words in the dictionary.....lol If you don't know what a dictionary is, ask mommy and daddy to help you. WarZ is KOS as well. But at least you had several characters you could play with, so you don't have to run 15,000 meters / 1 hour to get back to your group. You could fight it out, and get back into the fight on another character. You could actually PVP as a group, in the same area. And I can play KOS all day long, if you ever played WarZ our group OWNED Smallville. If you came within sight distance of the town you were dead. We murdered everything that moved. Geared or not, friendly or not. I'm hoping that DayZ will be more than one giant KOSfest like WarZ. And thanks to all the NO NO NO NO NO folks who keep replying to the thread. Helping keep it visible, GJ nubs!

    He might be playing in some public servers, but those are not the ones he's live streaming to the universe. I'm sure that it's already been discussed by the dev team that they're not going to get "chased by a 12 year old with an axe" for 30 minutes during a live stream. Or to have Rocket spawn 10 times and get murdered 9 of the 10 times as a fresh spawn before he can actually link back up with his guys. Not gonna happen. That's just bad advertising. I don't blame them for it. It would be hilarious to watch, but not a good way to sell the game. I wish they'd address the KOS issue with some sort of humanity system. It can even be just for "private servers". I don't care what the Vanilla folks want to do. If you look at DayZ Commander there's 2.5 TIMES the number of Epoch servers than there is Vanilla. That should tell you what the community WANTS and is willing to PAY for. Seems like the majority of the PAYING customers want more than Vanilla, yet in the forums the Vanilla folks are all raging NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

    Expect a lot of KOSers to be shitting on your idea. My opinion.........YOUR server, YOU pay for it, YOUR rules. If people like it, they'll play there. If they don't then they can GTFO and go to another server. There's not one RIGHT way to play this game. It's your server, your money, your rules.

    With almost everyone in the game KOSing, everyone is a bandit. There's no real way to be a hero without being a bullet / axe sponge. So people are correct when they say "killed the bandit". Maybe if they had a humanity system that actually worked, you could differentiate kills.
