Welcome to the Deathmatch Permadeath KOS Standalone. You might as well shoot everyone on sight. There's no benefit not to do it. If you don't do it, you'll end up dying a lot. They should implement a humanity system like the one in my signature below, that would at least BALANCE out the hero vs KOS bandit gameplay.

Welcome to the Deathmatch Permadeath KOS Standalone. There's literally no reason not to shoot everyone you see. It's all risk, no reward. You risk DEATH every time you don't kill that person. If you get shot running through a field, not even seeing the person who shot at you, you were NOT a threat to them unless you were going to trip over them...........KOSers use just about any excuse to "why" they shot the player. Acting fishy, didn't want to lose my stuff, wanted their stuff, had a weapon, looked aggressive, said the word "friendly", wouldn't surrender, etc. Another long train of KOS excuses. Unless they come up with an EFFECTIVE humanity system like the one below in my signature, the game will be 100% KOS.

Do you believe people who shoot on sight are terrible at DayZ?
1S1K-Airborne replied to GriefSlicer (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
KOS is the easiest possible way to play the game. Bandits get all the benefits, and no drawbacks with that gameplay style. KOS feeds more KOS which feeds more KOS, which makes the entire game nothing but KOS. Hence the hate from other players that want to play as Heros, but CANNOT do it without being bullet sponges. -
Discussion: Giving Players a Reason to Interact, not just KOS.

Welcome to the Deathmatch Permadeath KOS Standalone. There's literally no reason not to shoot everyone you see. It's all risk, no reward. You risk DEATH everytime you don't kill that person. There is no reward strong enough to prevent that. All of the little "suggestions" or "small changes" or "little things" people suggest won't fix it. Small stat boosts, nope. More zombies, nope. Cars, bases, more flowers, nope. Unless they come up with an EFFECTIVE humanity system like the one below in my signature, the game will be 100% KOS. -
If you had to pick a side, would you consider yourself Good or Evil?
1S1K-Airborne replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
This is a flawed poll. There's nothing to distinguish good vs evil in the game. There is no humanity system. Playing one day as good, and two days as evil..............doesn't mean you're evil. Doing 10 good acts, then 2 evil acts, doesn't mean you're good. Most people KOS, which is in itself an evil act. I don't even bother interacting anymore, KOS is the only way to play the game if you don't want to lose your shit. There is no measurement of how good or evil you are in-game. You might as well put a poll in: Do you KOS? Yes No Maybe It would be equally valid. You'd get people posting whatever they wanted, with absolutely no basis in reality in-game. No statistics, no actual measurement. Just people posting a random choice. If they had a real humanity system, DayZ could publish some actual stats that would be REAL. -
I was told everyone will kill you ...wrong !

You met 1 friendly person.......lol I'll bet anyone $20 he'll have another post in a week that says "Why everyone shootz me?" -
Welcome to the KOS Deathmatch Permadeath Standalone. No Humanity System = You should shoot everyone you see before they kill you. End of story.
-
Except the KOSers that steal from players, then force feed them rotten fruit until they die, or just shoot them after they've robbed them. Without a humanity system the word "friendly" might as well be translated to "bandit". Quickest way to get in a gunfight in this game...........walk close enough to someone to prox chat and say HI or FRIENDLY.

The only thing you can do in this game is KOS. The KOS crowd keeps KOSing, so there's no benefit to not KOS yourself. In fact not KOSing is a significant DISADVANTAGE in the game. The person you didn't kill will most likely come back and kill you. If you are trying to play as a HERO you might as well change that title to BULLET SPONGE. Nothing short of a Visible Humanity System will ever slow down KOS. I love how people say WHEN X HAPPENS, KOS WILL LESSEN. Then X happens, and everyone still KOS's. Have tents? People will camp the tents and KOS the players. Have more zombies? People will wait until you're fighting the zombies, then KOS you in the back. Stupidly complex medical system? More people are encouraged to KOS because they need to get better meds. Doesn't matter if some gear is destroyed, it's still faster and safer than looting.

Does feeling bad about killing players in DayZ make me a pussy or a morally sound individual?
1S1K-Airborne replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
Almost everyone in this game is a KOS player. There's no way to reduce it short of having a visible humanity system. Welcome to the KOS Deathmatch Permadeath Standalone. Shoot everyone you see until something changes. -
Idea how to restrain people from killing on sight.

You didn't read a whole 2 sentences. Congratulations! Another post from the KOS KOS KOS KOS KOS crowd. I'm starting to wonder if only psychotic kids play this game. Someone should get all of them some lithium. -
I thought this topic was about something else.....lol NICE TITLE MAN! lol

Everything in this game says you're a bandit. Mask, no mask. Helmet, no helmet. Clothes, no clothes. This game is mostly KOS, with a few random other type encounters. Don't lose the gear, just understand the grand majority of the time, it's all KOS.
-
Welcome to the KOS Deathmatch Permadeath Standalone. Until they come up with some type of effective visual Humanity System, there's no real reason not to KOS. Nothing else will fix it. Personally, I stopped playing. Really boring gearing up for hours, then going back to the coast just to murder everyone you find. Yawn!

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

I wouldn't want to force anyone to wear that outfit.....lol I watched that movie once, never again. Disturbing......lol -

1S1K-Airborne replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
The suggestion wouldn't work for 2 reasons. 1. If everyone decides what clothes a "hero" should dress in...............guess what all the KOS bandits are going to find to wear? 2. So if you see someone violate the rule, you have to group with another player that may be a KOSer, to kill the fake hero? That sounds like a perfect way to get yourself killed. You don't have to wear the armband, you can take it off if you want. It's a 100% optional system. -

I love the people that say "Don't turn this into WarZ". You obviously never played the game. WarZ was KOS as well. Still is. DayZ = WarZ <------oh, I said it now! Actually with the state of the Alpha right now, and the fact that they're making small dumb changes instead of getting the core big game mechanics in there........WarZ is better than DayZ. And it's realistic that 80-90% of encounters in the apocalypse will end up with one of the two players dead? Guess we don't have long to live right? Better get shooting then! In real life, you would not shoot everyone you met for a can of beans. Or, if you were dumb enough to do that, you would meet someone like ME that is actually military trained on guns and tactics........and you would cease to exist :) -
Almost everyone in this game is a Bandit. Without an Effective Humanity System there's no reason not to KOS. It's pointless to ask why.

Neutral safe zones that physically prevent combat
1S1K-Airborne replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
I love the WE ARE NOT WARZ crowd. You realize that this game is VERY close to WarZ right? KOS is the only real play style You have to eat / drink There are campers everywhere in high traffic areas, regardless of if it's a safe zone or not I could go on, but I really get a chuckle out of the WE ARE NOT WARZ nubs. If you'd played both, you'd realize they're extremely similar. -
Welcome to the KOS Deathmatch Permadeath Standalone Right now it's more beneficial to just KOS everyone you see. Tons of reasons to do it, none not to. If you don't KOS, be prepared to eat an axe / bullets in the back by the person you let live. Until they implement some type of effective Humanity System, KOS is really the only way to play.

I would like to see TEMPORARY in-game building reinforcement. Something limited in nature and time. One of the main problems with base building in the Mod is the epic amount of griefing going on. Every single server we played in Epoch had a bunch of asshat griefers that would go to your base at 3am and blow everything up. After a while there was literally NO POINT in building a base, because some kiddie would come by every single night and take the door down. For the TEMPORARY building / reinforcement it should go away after a couple of days or a week at most. Nothing permanent. For the PERMANENT base building, I would like to see it all UNDERGROUND. Something that isn't griefable at 3am. You go up to your manhole cover, bunker entrance, whatever (something that shows in game, but is just a single item). Once you mousewheel on it, you get transported to a static screen where you can access inventory, repair items, cook food, craft, etc. Then once you're done, you exit the base and spawn back in the game world at the entrance. You could increase the size of your underground base by adding more salvaged materials (wood, cinder, steel, etc). This would do 3 important things: 1. It would limit the amount of game world fortifications, which would keep server performance high (the more items the game has to render, the worse it performs). 2. It would allow you to fortify an area for PVP, or temporary clan base purposes. 3. The underground base would be a good way to do storage, repairing, crafting, etc because it wouldn't actually render anything in game except your entrance manhole, bunker, etc.

Welcome to the KOS Deathmatch Permadeath Standalone. Unless they implement a Humanity System like the one below in my sig..............it will be that way forever. Bandits have 100% of the advantages, heros have 100% of the drawbacks. -
That sucks man. Unfortunately.............. KOS or prepare to get KOS'd in return. Welcome to the KOS Deathmatch Permadeath Standalone. Unless they implement a Humanity System like the one below in my sig..............it will be that way forever.
