Immersion breaking are most of the regular server tricks like crosshair, notices (XYZ killed), 3rd person, distance. Want a real adrenaline rush, go to full HC VET server :) -

It's really cheap to accuse a fellow server survivor for cheating without any e v i d e n c e. Install fraps, keep it running during a an encounter (if possible), take screenies. All you need is some solid proof and that hacker is banned. Also try to give the HV guy a proper name, instead of just HV (theres 80+ who have been to LU15 and that number is growing) .Cause if one certain member pops up enough in cheater related issues it will raise questions and maybe, just maybe you help to ban a cheater, but and anonymous HV member would imply you calling us all hackers. And that just lame. I could easily blame all my hacker dyings to you as well just because you were on the server at the same time. Easy eh.. no proof though. We have gotten few hackers banned due to having several eyewitnesses to the hack and for extra proof screenies were made, few people who could ran fraps. So meanwhile if you don't have any proof I suggest you grow a pair and adapt... or die often (or maybe change servers if all you can do is accuse others without any solid proof) Please get some solid proof next time and even the members inside HV will take you seriously in getting rid of hackers. -

No way?! You do?.... No way.... Really? And we thought they just "dissapear" on their own.. Who would have thought other players besides us actually look for vehicles. But yes, the vehicles are nice fun to have and easy to find again. Can't wait for extra options for us to have and do ingame. -

Thanks to our busy members we've enjoyed the occasional trucks and other vehicles, have had access to constant flow of hi end gear (sadly due to tents it's all totally common now) and I do belive few choppers as well. Due to the prevalence of anti-material snipers they wont live long though so we tend to use them using the moto "life is short (48mins on averatge) so have fun :) PVP wise really if there is interest we could actually try to organize some fun events (ofcourse we need to be ready that someone will spoil the fun). But I have no problems charging green mountain with wincherster or having a sidearm fight in cherno. Ambush a vehicle on some stretch of road etc. Defend an important piece of intel someone needs to steal etc. Just needs some organizeing and Nigel has a TS as well so we can all have the event there. Vehicle are tricky as they tend to dissapear from our "hiding spots" during the night. I think it's a bug :D Tents sadly dont dissapear whatever you do with them. after restart they back and mostly full of hi end loot. -

LOL at no point have we said we are any good. I think 1 sniper once got 5 of us on an open field and another time I think we lost 9 to n00b moves. Were all just having fun like you are -

Close, but no cigar :) We may be nubs, but dont like to keep vehicles in plain sight.. maybe a bush or two to keep the hidden. The HV guy you killed there was just roaming around and discovered the camp as well. -

Getting 10-20 players together
EvilFurryOne (DayZ) replied to cyles99's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Heya, we advertised the mod on our local computer forum and many people bought the game. Looking at the statistics ca 83 members have been on the server we call home. And at rare peak times there can be up to 15-20 guys on line. But even if our voice coms holds 20, it means ca 10 might be playing together as a group, with few others roaming nearby. Few members are lone wolf types who enjoy finding camps and vehicles for the rest of us, few are out to pvp and many just love to do something in the game as a group Now let's say you have 10 people in a group and you are closing in on electro to loot it out. How do you stay alive? You need to communicate constantly where you are and what are you doing without it becoming voice spam. You can be sure you either get shot at right away or they run away. Sadly I really don't see much co-existence with other players if you roaming with a group. Someone in your team can always shoot even an unarmed survivor. Easiest way for someone to die in our group? Approach the area from distance, get noticed and not speak on comms. Big group means less people with real combat discipline and let's face it, no one likes to die and run back to his gear. So if a question "who's walking to the powerstation firehouse over the field?!" does not get a reply in 5 seconds the person usually gets shot. Sometimes it's a new member who didn't bother to read forums to find out he also needs a mic. Sometimes it's a old timer who accidentally muted his speakers/headphones. Also you need to keep everyone informed if you are separated and approaching certaing areas. "Okey, going into Polana now", "Ah cool I just logged on near there, i'll join you". No comms might actually mean one of the shoots the other by accident Overwatch or two should be setup wherever you go and stay for longer than 10 minutes. Use tags to identify yourself. On a regular server everyone can get the other persons name and distance by mouse scrolling over them. (need to have primary and secondary weapon slots filled). On hardcore server it's going to be a lot harder to identify a team member in a city where there are 3-4 extra players looting. Suggestions: get a unique face from profile. Zombie or that blue face, maybe certain shades as well to make you even more identifiable. Knowing whole squad by their guns is hard.. and then there's the camo as well to consider. "Are we bandits or friendlies?". You pretty fast devolve into shooting first as it becomes annoying to get other gear and hold it until they get back to you. Also having goals on what to do is important. We started with just looting elektro and cherno for a bit and running between those until people wanted more, we went inland. Tent camps were setup, found the first vehicles and lost some as well. Combat is tricky when a decent sniper starts to take you out one by one. Will happen from time to time. Or when combat lines get blurry with enemies amongst your ranks. I have shot a friend just cause I didnt notice him doing the chicken dance. That was after we spotted a player near us in forest and had a firefight in which he managet to get away, so he could have been anywhere, even amongst us. Get a decent voicecom with overlay. We use Mumble and took a few tries to get the sound quality okey. Otherwise you dont know who is talking to you. To get the best gaming experience, have a squad of like 3-5 friends who you know. Big groups can get tiresome. But... yesterday we found 2 helis, sadly we lost the first one just at the same time we found the second. Group effort helped alot to get all the necessary gear to fix it and later refuel at a gas station. Pros and cons to everything eh. So, lot of banter about life in a big group, you decide if it's worth the effort. -

Nigel, your personal mailbox here seems to be full. -
Maybe the server was not on the latest version yet? I also was on a HC server last night and managed to one shot zombies now I am thinking it was due to it not being the latest version that has the gun nerfs in it.

Pending Update: Build 1.7.2.4
EvilFurryOne (DayZ) replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Rocket would you please consider a wipe of hi end very rare gear due to it being way too common. Mainly because of duping inside tents. Even if you dont want to do it. - On our server there are load of tents everywhere and quite a few that have the hi end gear in them after server restart. That is constant supply of NVG's, rangefinders, AS50's, barrets, m4 CCO SD's etc. - Zombies not moving at all in central electro (and sometimes in Cherno). They move on the side-skirts of town, but inside no movement. The area just becomes a pvp are where the "dinner bell" is the best gun to have. - Massive tank trap/wire fence spamming of important loot areas still happening. Either use is unlimited or the items are too common. This all breaks immersion wich is very important part of the game. Also due to the game being in alpha after you have fixed the main dupe issues in the game maybe full wipe. It's fun to restart and knowing this AS50 you get really is really rare and not in the hands of every sniper hill camper. -
Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update
EvilFurryOne (DayZ) replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Zombies stop moving on our server after couple of hours. They do move on the outskirts of electro, but not inside. So the area basically becomes a pvp zone where I and other run around with "dinner bells". It's fun for a moment, but zombies not reacting totally breaks the immersion as well. And the fact we have demolished many tent camps that only respawn again after restart with all the loot inside again. Maybe 1.7.3 patch could be tested abit more first, made sure it really works, all the old stuff that is broken now working again and just do a general item/vehicle wipe. If the duping is gone the rare items like NVG's will be rare and not just stuff you find few times a day from other players/tents if you active. -
Chopper is flying in the server atm + police cars were seen earlier. Nippellecker TwoandahalfPRO Lucas ruled aka Aldi were involved

Hey, regarding the HV "clan" we were not to blame. Atleast I hope not. Were a bunch of forum nubs who found the game and and decided to atleast organize into one group and have fun. We dislike hacking and if anyone has any solid proof just pass it along and the person involved would be kicked by us. Regarding the incident last night I think everyone had the zombie attack issue, me included, I was in a forest and the moment it started I disconnected. When the person involved, I think it was called Blood Monkey was kicked, I went back in, I was alive but unconcious for few minutes due to me leaving the game in "pvp". Little later someone flew a huey and crashed it into cherno, not us. Quite a few people reported the satchels in the inventory as well. But regarding glitching, one feature few of us have experienced is the warp back quite a bit from where you came from also serious desync issues (not this patch, now just dont drive a convoy in close proximity) I do suggest you also report the issues in the lu15 server thread which the server admin also read. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/34902-lu15-server-thread/ Let's hope we can clear issues and if any pop up we can deal with them promptly.
