you can't use all 8 gigs of memory for just the game. your os and background stuff needs some of that also. try changing your -maxmem to 4056. 4 gigs is more than enough to run the game. Also you can try getting msi afterburner and using the osd to see how hard your gfx card is working. if it's not being used much try going into your nvidia control panel and changing your power management mode to "prefer maximum performance" under the manage 3d settings tab. Also take note of your gfx card clock. It should be running at it's advertised clock speed while you are in game. I had a problem with my old card downclocking itself because the game wasn't stressing it enough. I can't remember what exactly i did to fix it though. And your cpu should be fine. I'm running a AMD quad core and getting 40-70 fps depending on where I am on the map with a 560ti. -

Flashing black screen bug (FIXED)

I recently got back into the mod after taking about a year off. I installed everything as admin, updated all my drivers, and havn't changed any hardware since the last time I had it installed, but now I get a weird flashing black screen during loading, gameplay, and death screens. I never used to have this issue when I played dayz a yr ago. This happens on every server I join, and even when playing mods of the mod eg:epoch. this is the only game that gives me this issue. I have so far: Completely cleaned my pc out. cleaned out all the case dust filters, took apart and cleaned the cpu cooler and added new TIM, took apart the gfx card and cleaned it then applied new TIM, re-seated the memory, blew the dust out behind the mobo, took the cover off the psu and cleaned it out, then stress tested it and checked the temps. Everything was within acceptable limits. so heat isn't an issue. Updated drivers for mobo, gfx card, audio, and everything else I could find that uses a driver even my dvd player. Ran with onboard audio, ran with a sound card. Went through the BIOS with a fine toothed comb. Reinstalled steam, arma x, and dayz making sure I ran everything as admin. Fiddled with the arma gfx settings for hours. Installed the game/mod on another pc and hooked it to my monitor. It ran fine with no issues. Conclusion: not the monitor/ girlfriend does not like me messing with her pc o.O Ran ccleaner and kaspesky virus scan. checked registry for errors. ran a boot-time scan for especially sneaky viruses. defragged the hdd's. I havn't tried: Hitting it, but I'm tempted. Re-installing Windows - absolute last resort Here is a brief video of what it does: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ_vCoA1_4k I set the fan curve to 100% at 60c even though the card is rated for much higher. It does this while loading, playing, and death screen. It does not do this in the lobby screen.
