    Fraggle you can look at it this way if you like , don't modern armies have their "magic" eyes in the sky , drones and such like , have you seen some of the scout drones their using these days :) Choice when only the best will do .

    Refined is good i'm all for it , some of what Mr Hall has said about stances effecting view is very interesting indeed but forcing 1st person view on people would be a mistake in my opinion . I think balance is the key here but also a gamble get it right he wins get it wrong.... well you know the rest . 3rd person view is the most popular because in my opinion Dayz has attracted mainstream MMO players unlike other first person shooters and they are used to 3rd person view its how they play . So yes refined = good if you get it right . Choice a cut above the rest

    I know what your saying I have been in situations like that and its not nice , hate is such a strong word if I hated it I wouldn't be there but if I could live with it I would play on . Unfortunatly life isn't always fair so that is why I consider letting people choose for themselves the better option . such is life . Choice now with vitamin C

    Very true infinite choice is not practical in a game , this thread is about the pro's and cons of different views , if asked to choose between 1st or 3rd I would choose both which is what we have already , and everybody is happy . Choice 99% fat free

    Sure totally agree if I want to play soccer I use soccer rules if I want to play basketball I use basketball rules the same goes for dayz if I want to play 1st person I play on the first person rule server like wise 3rd person on their server rule set , easy , I don't however play soccer and try to tell the basketball players how to play their game . Choice Nectar of the gods .

    I agree nameplates = bad so I choose not to play on servers that have them , I will not demand that people who like nameplates be hung drawn and quarted for playing that way :) choice is good

    See it works if you like 1st person view play on the server that suits and the rest can play on their 3rd person server . Choice is good

    You keep calling it an "exploite" it is a "feature" of 3rd person play . The beauty of servers in 1st and 3rd person is you don't have to play on the one you don't like , nobody looses everybody wins . Choice the breakfast of champions :)

    Great easy mode it is then but that's the way many many people want to play , they are not telling you how to play why do you want to force them to play your way , weather it undermines the concept is totally your opinion and fair enough I don't agree but with a Choice we can all play happily , yes ?

    There are many ways to play Dayz without pvp you sell the game very short if you think that , I play pvp sure but I also play non pvp and also I play sometimes without guns at all just straight survival , this game is and will be so much more than just a first person shooter I hope . cheers

    I must be thick or something I just cant see the problem you want 1st person view then play on the 1st person view servers then you wont have to see the great unwashed having fun doing our silly 3rd person stuff , everyones happy . Choice is still a great idea .

    I used those guys as an example of people who know what sells are in tune with the communities likes ect so you don't agree with letting people choose for them selves ?

    Choice is a wonderfull thing , let people choose which type of server they wish to play on 1st or 3rd , problem solved . 3rd person is by far the most popular way to play . People like Frankie and Jackfrags do their Youtubes in 3rd person and the get the big hits . If you really want to alienate a very large percentage of the player base get rid of 3rd person view . and finally yes I would not buy the game if it does not have 3rd person view and I suspect I am not alone . so as I said Choice is the best option , nobody forcing people to play their way . Choice is good :)
