I agree with your list totally and I would add putting tents underwater , turning the game settings to minimum so you can see people easier and so many more but they are bugs and should be fixed . We are talking about play styles which have different features , I wont say more I just hope the devs come up with something to keep us all happy , no easy task I think . cheers

According to other people in this thread The server admins situation will not change for standalone they will still be the ones deciding , 1stP people will still be between a rock and a hard place and I feel sorry for them its not an ideal outcome , but penalizing the 3rdP is no answer either , Ive put forward an idea you don't like fine how about you propose something . And to be clear your post is about your inability to get servers with your play style not why 3rdP view is bad in any way . cheers

Wow I'm glad to see I got through to someone finally , exactly why try and fix something that isn't broken I expect the devs reacted to the noisey minority and have yet to hear the other side of the story from the people these changes will effect mostly , you cant seriously telly me the devs will willingly throw away a formula that has made DayZ as popular as it has become . just my thoughts . cheers oh and re the choice is good 30+ times see my poste above

You should never assume , I do in fact play DayZ in FPV and 3rd depending on the situation and what I feel like doing that is the beauty of how DayZ works at the moment I get to choose . cheers ok no more Choice comments I think its upsetting the Blue names :P

I have offered more than many but you choose to ignore it I don't know why , I have been mostly neutral trying not to take sides and include a solution that is already in the game , includes everybody and requires no added dev work , but some people here are hell bent on their chosen way of playing and that's it . As you say people have complained but it seems the people complaining are complaining about how other people like to play the game not really fair I think , also as you say the changes are proposed not final so now is the time for us to try and get our views across is it not . finally the "parroting one liners" are my attempt to lighten the mood it seems to get a bit hostile here . Wrong I agree with you in a perfect world where we could have totally real first person view it would great , bring on oculus rift , but we are where we are so to please both camps I and others proposed a compromise which is choice , hopefully Mr Hall will consider it . also It does not divide focus it is already in game , its how the game is set up now . but enough im sure you all know by now Choice is good so ill leave you to catch 22 :) cheers

Noooo you just started it all over again , me thumps my head against a wall , this question can not be answered until we have more information like will there be different servers for the 2 play styles , if yes then there is no logical argument to change 3rd person view in any way . So we are stuck in this endless catch 22 talking about if's but's and maybe's . Choice something some people are scared of .

That would be true if you were talking about an exploit , but we are not are we , we are talking about a feature of 3rd person view that you do not have to use simply by playing on a 1st person server . Choice not the easy way but the right way

Depends on the situation if im taking carefull aim I will always go first person , Ive had a bit to do with firearms over the years and it just feels right , but on other occasions when things get really close and in your face ill shoot from 3rd person , see choice again isn't it good . If a majority of 3rd person view players came here and wanted change then yes I would agree change is needed but their not complaining only a minority of the first person players are here complaining about servers the given the choice would not play on , go figure . Once again this post is not about the pro's and cons of the different views but about a minority who can't find servers to suit their play style , why dump on 3rd person view people it wont help your cause , either way server avaibility is not what this thread is about I think . Choice lasts the hole day through .

Sorry but i am not normally a forum follower so I didnt know about the "zombies aren't realistic" in joke , weather my arguments are running thin ill let others decide . Ok point 1 this thread is about DayZ not armor , these "exploits" are in fact features used in most mainstream MMO's if you dont like the features offered on a 3rd person view server go to the 1st person view server , easy . All your coments about the scope guy on the roof are irrelevant as long as people are all playing under the same rules all is good . Why change anything about 3rd person view you have a choice play on a server that suits you. Why 3 levels do you want to make more work for the devs ? as it is the choices are enough , in place already and need no more dev time . Oh and I am no advocate of democracy in this case I like everybody else here have my own vested interest . Choice now caffeine free

Sorry mate but it doesn't work that way you cant force people to like things you like you will simply drive them away . The reasons behind why some people like 1st or 3rd person view don't matter , you want to keep as many people happy as possible and most like 3rd person view . Sorry but I had to lol using the words authentic and realistic in a game about a zombie apocalypse is a bit odd but I get your point , again nothing has to change weather it is realistic or otherwise is for the player to decide , pick your server for the experience you like , you can call 3rd person features "exploits" all you like it doesn't make it so , youll be calling me a terrorist next :P . Why do you worry so much about how other people like to play , their happy , a very large % of them love 3rd person view = bums on seats = money for Mr Hall to continue development of the game . It looks very much to me like some people here would rather risk destroying the game than let people choose their own play style . Choice the thinking mans option

So if the 1st and 3rd person servers are still going to exist WHY do you 1st person view people want to change 3rd person view ? you will not even be playing on those servers if what you say is true . But this thread is not about what is best for the game it is about a small group of people , a noise minority , trying to influence Mr Hall into basterdizing 3rd person view to a point where they hope more people will play 1st person view , their way , the proper way according to them . The vast silent majority play in 3rd person , fact , they are happy with what they have and are not here complaining , if you were truly interested in what is best for the game the only answer is separate servers for the two view styles , no more work involved its already there everybodys happy except maybe our squeaky hinge that can not except that their way is not the only way or even the best way .
