Water Purification [MAYBE NOT SOLVED]
Etherimp replied to EncryptedCode's topic in General Discussion
42 hours of drinking from wells and unpurified water and never gotten sick from drinking water in-game.. Only gotten sick from eating rotten fruit or getting hit by infected zombies. -
SA - Is the blood regeneration working?
Etherimp replied to Nahchito (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Eat and Drink until you see the word "healthy" over your character when you press Tab. Yes, regening health is working. -
Tactical and UK both carry the same amount of gear. I do not know whether one has more protection than the other.

Anyone who is armed that I do not know. I am too geared to risk losing all of my stuff. If I see them and they have a weapon, they're a target. http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/687095438421759004/0A345C0F4BAF99ABF29D90E96B0EC15495B21332/

My issue with this game... Same as DayZ Mod.
Etherimp replied to MrTryme's topic in General Discussion
It happens. Instead of seeing this as a "omg I got screwed" moment, just change your perspective on it.. The other guy was hurt and his screen was probably grayed out and his crosshair may have been jumping around like crazy, but he still had the resolve to hit you with a lethal shot. He made a good play, and he put up a fight before he went down. "good fight" is the proper response to this. -
The accuracy on the M4 is shit, but it's still my preferred weapon. to quote another player regarding the M4 " believe the dispersion in dayz SA is 0.1, whereas it was 0.00175 in Arma."

True story... 40 players on server, we (My buddy and I) spawn into the server just outside of NWAF, fully geared. I go to Sniper Hill, check the Airfield.. nothing.. Buddy is sitting at "tent city" on the north end of the airfield, and I move over to meet up with him.. We take everything nice and slow.. We decide that now that we're grouped, we move down the side of the airfield.. As we're moving, I'm saying something along these lines: "I can't believe airfield is absolutely dead with 40 players online.. Like, I CAN'T believe it, there has to be someone here.." 5 seconds later, we step out of the tree line and into a field where we go to cross behind the Hangers, I spin my 3rd person camera around to check behind me, and spot a player in a tree.. I holler to my friend in teamspeak there's someone behind him, and I fire off 1-2 shots at the guy in the tree, and spot another guy to the right, I snap my aim over to him and hit him about 4 times in the chest.. My friend dies, and I die shortly after. So, famous last words? "I can't believe airfield is absolutely dead with 40 players online.. Like, I CAN'T believe it, there has to be someone here.." Lesson learned from this? If it seems too good to be true, it probably is..There's always someone at NWAF on a busy server.

Actually, to complete a "full map", all you really need is 2 map sections .. "Map of Northern Chernarus" and "Map of Southern Chernarus".. They can be combined into 1 big map of the entire area. Also: No. No "free map"..

[Question] Blood type and blood testing kits
Etherimp replied to Some random guy's topic in General Discussion
Wow.. That's actually an incredible idea! -
Will waypoints (shift click on map) be added again?
Etherimp replied to ItsJoker's topic in General Discussion
I have a full map + compass, and I didn't get that until I had already travelled to NWAF and back.. Way points really aren't necessary. -
[Question] Blood type and blood testing kits
Etherimp replied to Some random guy's topic in General Discussion
1. blood type changes every time you die. 2. Blood testing kits are semi-rare.. I've found maybe 2-3 of them in the 36 hours of game time. 3. Use saline bags instead of blood bags.. -
Signed. M4's are easy to find. Pistols are difficult to find. Pistol clips are nigh impossible to find. Mosins are "rare".. Stop the "ITS ALPHA" bullshit whenever somone post feedback.. Makes you look like a tard who doesn't know what Alpha means. Alpha means "Game needs work, tell us what we need to work on so we can focus on it."

I approve of science... Game wants to be realistic, it should practice what it preaches.

"Civilians don't know how to fire guns"... I am seeing a lot of this kind of logic on these forums lately and quite honestly it's absolutely absurd. First of all, as others have mentioned: It's a game.. A player of the game who does not know how to use their mouse, properly set their sensitivity, or who overall panics under stressful situations is your equivalent of a "civilian" IRL, and they will lose fire fights in game. Compare that to someone who has 15+ years of FPS experience and has played FPS games at LAN tournaments and been in the competitive scene for a while.. These guys are going to be more along the lines of your "military" survivors.. The game should not be creating mechanics in order to screw with the player because the game "assumes" they should be bad at using firearms. Secondly, the amount of bullet spread in game right now is OBVIOUSLY much higher than it was in Arma II engine, and that has been proven. So anyone who mocks others for their "lol horrible aim baddy scrub scrub" is being an arrogant prick. MOST people have noticed how incredibly inaccurate the guns are and if you haven't you obviously haven't been using them very much. While it IS possible to get accurate shots off, that does not mean that the guns are as accurate as they should be. You can take a 110 lb skinny, white, 12 year old boy from the suburbs and put an M16 in his hands, explain to him how to hold the gun and where to aim for approximately 2 minutes and he will be hitting a target 200m down range with better accuracy than the guns in the game currently exibit.

Let me throw some other ideas out there and see what you think of this.. -You kill a zombie at a Helicopter crash, and you search his body and find a wallet.. The wallet gives his home address which is in Kabaino (Or any random town).. -You travel to Kabanino (or whereever) and you find a broken down vehicle (which you can repair), and there is a "broken radio transmitter" in the gear of the vehicle.. -You find a survivor camp, and in one of the tents is a scrap piece of paper with coordinates on it.. -You travel to the coordinates on the piece of paper and you find a stash, and the stash has some decent supplies, as well as an important part of the radio transmitter stashed in it. But you don't have any crafting options with the radio transmitter yet... -You find a (random) house with a book in it "Electronics repair", and this book unlocks the ability to craft the radio transmitter -Other hints and suggestions are found around the map and on the bodies of zombies that direct you to take the radio transmitter to Green Mountain, and upon activating the Radio Transmitter it signals a chopper to come pick you up, effectively "ending" the life of your character and saving your journal, which would look maybe like... "Etherimp Survived 13 days in Chernarus, with XXX gear, saved XXX many lives, killed XXX many players, and was finally rescued on XX/XX/XXXX" Or... You could have a similar set of random pickups which eventually lead you to a hospital, and allow you to summon a medical chopper which turns a dead person back into a live person.. IE - one of your friends dies to zombies, or dies in combat.. no medical help you can provide them will allow them to survive.. But, you summon this medical chopper, and it can bring them back to life, allowing them to continue with the same character (X many days alive), and keep their gear, etc.

The M4 being wildly inaccurate at anything further than 20-50 meters is pretty well documented. I've crouched completely still and aimed down the sight at a zombie who was running directly at me from about 75 meters or less.. Aimed at center mass and fired single shots. I saw bullets going left and right of my target. My M4 was in pristine condition except the RDS scope was "worn", which is effectively "still very good but not perfect." I was tapping "hold breath" and was not panting. My health and energy were full.. I was not shaking or sick. Basically, guns are not very accurate right now, so what probably happened is that you hit your target 1-3 times, and they survived while the rest of your rounds did not hit your target, and they got close enough to axe you.. It sucks, and it shouldn't happen.. They will fix it in due time. It wasn't your fault you weren't accurate. Many people are experiencing this. I have 7+ years of competitive CS experience...In DayZ Mod if I get a target in my crosshairs they are dying before me as I am familiar with bullet drop, recoil, and overall gun-physics. The "your aim sucks" excuse doesn't work for me, and I am experiencing the same issue as you are in DayZ SA.

I agree. It's totally possible to keep the game an open ended, free roam, sandbox experience AND add a story element. Heli crashes, survivor camps, notes left inside of homes, or items found in spawned vehicles could give the player "hints" to unlock some kind of treasure or experience in the game which would pay off in some way.. The story could get deeper and deeper the more you play the game. The problem is removing the meta-gaming element, where players take knowledge learned in a previous life and apply it to their new character. IE - I found X at Y and now I'll do Z because I have that knowledge, even though I died. (I found an Airfield up north, so now I'll just go there and get military gear, even though I died at the airfield and my new character should have no real knowledge of that place.)

It's possible that you were just sniped and didn't hear the shot.

1. hospitals, and I have found them in other places as well. 2. Saline, or getting your "health" to high levels will slowly regen your blood. Do this by getting your energy and water levels high (drink and eat) 3. Attach gas to stove, turn on.. not sure from there, never used one.

I know there's already bug reports, but some of this doesn't really go into bug reports.. Also wanted to incite some discussion on some of these issues, and also bring up some stuff that I haven't necessarily seen mentioned. So, I'll get right to it. -The ocean sound seems WAY too loud... It drowns out the sound of almost everything else, and I have my game volume turned down. -The sun is WAY too big.. If it's behind trees/clouds it's just fine, but the sunrays should not be the size of a dinner plate on my screen. -Gun sounds are way too quiet. -The M4 seems very inaccurate. (Been brought up in several threads..) -Certain items spawn where you cannot actually access them. I've seen items spawn on top of roofs, cabinets, and shelves that could not be accessed by the player. This is frustrating when there's a pair of good pants or another "good" early game item which is literally stuck in an inaccessible position.. especially when spawn rates are as low/non-existent as they are. -There should be a way to check players health status while they are laying down.. IE - to see if they are unconscious or dead. -Unconscious bodies often slide across the terrain with little to no regard for what is in their path (IE - buildings, fences, etc.) This makes it very difficult to administer medical help. -Ladders are extremely dangerous... At least 3 times I have died coming down off the ladder of the firestation, and have had it happen to a friend on the school (? I think.. Possibly hospital.) . .Either way, your player acts like they are mounting the ladder, then they get flung off and die without any input on your part. I'm sure I could think of some more, but this is a good list to get started..
-
they have not been put into the game yet.

Tried this.. In some places it's literally impossible to do this. One example: There's a Wardrobe cabinet which has the doors open on it.. 1 at approximately a 45° angle, the other at about a 90° angle. You cannot possibly move your character in position close enough to the object to access it (Yes, even in first person.).. I wasn't even able to get the "pick up" option.

correct

Just checked the Bug reports and apparently a lot of people have been complaining about inaccessible items, and unconscious bodies sliding.. Unfortunately most of the other stuff hasn't been mentioned that I can see. Although Gun sounds and M4 inaccuracy has been brought up quite a bit on the forums. I posted about the Ladder death glitch, hoping that others can replicate it.. I know for a fact it's happened to more than just me, because it happened to my friend tonight. Those are probably the 2 biggest issues I mentioned. The others being mostly aesthetic..

Sexy time. I can't wait to start smashing under-pants wearing female bodies with a crowbar until they are in ... questionable positions.
